He clearly cares about each individual customer. And he supports his staff. Even coming in on a day off to help us with our situation. We just moved to Portland from Hawaii and we had purchased new phones and WiFi. Our move to Portland was abrupt and emergent, so there was no time to get the WiFi. Received stellar service from Landon, the manager! So good in fact that after purchasing a new Samsung S21, I bought another for my brother even though he lives in NJ! I bought him a phone and set up the service here so that Landon and the Grant Park store would get the business because the support was that good! My Samsung Galaxy 8 was crashing and apps wouldn't open. Came about suddenly and as we all know, we can't survive without our smartphones. Stopped in this particular store because it's in my previous neighborhood and I was familiar with the location, right next to New Seasons, with convenient covered parking and access directly into the store. Samsung was offering an upgrade deal where you trade in your qualifying phone for an $800 credit if you purchase the Samsung S21, which costs $800. So basically free! What's the catch you ask? I asked the same! You have to sign up for the unlimited data plan, which based on the current plan I had, was $23 more a month. However, with the AARP discount and paperless billing, the monthly rate is the same and the $35 activation charge waived. Bottomline, the phone was indeed free! I purchased the new phone and Landon transferred all the data (apps, contacts, pictures, etc) and told me to keep the existing phone for a few days to ensure everything did indeed transfer. Before the week was up, I was to return the phone, which I did, and in front of me they wiped that phone clean and updated the billing system to show the trade in was received. On the monthly bill it shows an $800 fee for the new phone, but I am not charged that amount. It's like AT&T fronts the money. Every month for 30 months, they deduct the credit from the trade in and after 30 months, it no longer shows up on the statement. I've been an AT&T customer since the late 80s, yes, I'm "vintage," so I know I will remain with them for the next 30 months So that's not an issue for me. If I do choose to leave, I'm responsible for the balance of the new phone that remains. Landon also set me up with a screen protector, at my request. After two days I returned to the store because with the screen protector I couldn't use the fingerprint security feature. And it made my screen look dirty. Without hesitation he took the return and applied the credit to a liquid screen protector which he applied for me. Another rep demonstrated how it is indestructible by banging his phone on the table and throwing it in the floor! Now, I don't recommend or plan on doing this with my phone, but it sold me on the liquid screen cover! Loving my phone so much, the faster 5G speed, double memory and the amazing camera! Which is what I use way more than the phone itself. It was my brother's birthday so I set him up with the same deal, again at zero cost, and Landon shipped the phone to him in NJ. My brother went to a local AT&T to activate, transfer data and set up automatic billing. Done! Another happy customer. Working in an AT&T store, or any of the competitor's stores, is not easy! They have to sell the plans the people in HQ and the manufacturers create. And deal with people who don't like the plans or are having issues with their device. It's not an easy role and there is so much turnover. Once you find a store and a rep you like, stick with them! Landon was superior, and James who also works there was super helpful. First off, Sean at this store is fantastic, a genius, your best asset when dealing with this company from hell. RUN FROM AT&T if you don't want to spend the entire rest of your life dealing with fraudulent bills and an online customer service that either doesn't respond or responds with incorrect information. I have never, ever dealt with worse customer service from any American company. Someone should shut this company down. Whatever you do, do not get cell or wifi service from AT&T. This review is directed at the employees at the store. I went in to upgrade my phone with a trade in. I was told the price I would be paying for this, but when I got home, I noticed some charges coming through that were not mentioned. After contacting the store more, i'm having to go through many loopholes because the employees signed me up for monthly subscriptions that we did not talk about once. You are stealing money from people and this has to be illegal. We called and talked to the manager who said that this is a commissioned thing that makes employees money. This is so unacceptable. If you go in to upgrade your phone, do not let them take advantage of you because this is money I will never get back and it's ridiculous. I have been happy with my AT&T plan, until I had a problem with my phone last week. It turns out the store was happy to switch me to ATT and sell me a phone, but they couldn't bother to add the requested insurance or add the upgrade plan we had discussed to my account. The full account follows: After a visit to the Apple store at t3290 NE BROADWAY ST STE K, , PORTLAND, OR 97232 on 9/23/22, I switched back to AT&T. The new iPhone 14 and 14 Pro had just been released; however, the phone I actually wanted was the iPhone 15 Pro, with a host of features I've been waiting for. The option to pay for an additional fee for an upgrade plan was enticing, and I was pleased with the cost of unlimited data plan, so I moved forward with ordering a phone and changing service providers. As they didn't have the phone in the color I wanted, I left the store and the phone was shipped to me for a self activation. When the phone arrived, I activated it, and created a log in for ATT.com in order to set up autopay on my credit card, and haven't logged onto the site since. Last week my 9 month old phone stopped taking a charge. I tried all of the things, cleaning the lint, trying different chargers, methods, resetting the phone, everything you can find online. None of it worked, so I visited the ATT store in person, where they not only told me I didn't have the requested iPhone insurance added to my plan, but I also didn't have the upgrade plan added to my account. That's right - they set me up with the account, and moved my service over, but dropped the ball on the two additional requests we had discussed. My mistake was assuming my account would have been setup as discussed. The sales person dropped the ball. And since I didn't bring this to the attention to someone at AT&T within the timeframe, my account and line are not eligible for it. In this case who is at fault? Is it the person who sold me services and neglected to do what they promised? Or is it me, for assuming someone would follow through and do what they promised? I've spoken with a number of customer service representatives at AT&T on the phone, on social media, and in person, and although I've always held insurance on my new iPhones, (as well as heavy duty cases) I've been unknowing flying without a net, which as a very active person is highly concerning. Note: my phone repair was covered under Apple Warranty. I have since added Apple Care + so I have some peace of mind for breakage. However, if my phone is stolen, I'm out of luck. went in for a new iPhone. they told me it was going to be 80 a month, ended up being 156 a month when my bill came in. Went in to talk to them again, guy says he made some mistakes and that he fixed them and not to worry. Now my bill was 254. He told me that it was just going to be my normal bill plus activation. Had to call customer service to sort it out. Still had to pay the 254 dollars. Overall I spent over 300 dollars on just my first visit and now I'm locked into 2 years of a bill I can barely afford. This store had horrible salespeople. They lie to your face. Not joking. wish I never stepped foot in here. Get your phone online. I've had AT&T now for a couple years and for the price and service it far out performs Verizon. Currently on a $300 yearly plan, you just make a one time payment for the year on AT&T prepaid. I own my phone so I just pop in the SIM card and bam. It's 8gb rollover data. Unlimited call and text. Works out to $25 bucks a month, best change I ever made. The service is pretty great overall and I generally have full bars everywhere, and while I'm at home I just am on Wi-Fi calling. read more

Had a great experience today adding my girlfriend to my cell phone plan. She also purchased a new iPhone and some cases. These kinds of visits can be stressful if you get someone constantly trying to upsell you. I went to fully purchase with cash a new Samsung phone for my wife who already has an account. I am already an at&t customer also. I was told that they will not sell us a phone (paid in full) and that I would have to finance it and then I can pay it off later. This way I would still have the warranty. Seems a bit ridiculous. After several minutes of back and forth about not wanting to finance anything. Then I was informed that the phone I was asking about wasn't even in stock. So this was a giant waste of my time and AT&T is failing terribly at customer service once again. Don't advertise you sell phones, if you can only finance them. And how about offering to help take care of a customer instead of "sorry, see ya". Best buy took my money happily and easily. read more

My senior citizen mom is learning an iPhone for the first time and dealing with a lot after the passing of my dad. we chose to go with AT&T specifically because there is a store in her neighborhood we could walk to if she had problems with her phone. they were helpful with setting up the phone and line, but when my mom went by herself to get help, the employees were not patient, her concerns were not addressed, and she waited for over an hour for help. she has also been notified that her phone plan has doubled in price- bait and switch. I'm so disappointed about this lack of support. I will be contacting managers and reporting the contract change to the better business bureau. read more

Really poor service purchasing a new IPhone ... resulted in several visits to the store and calls to AT&T. 1) Data transfer was made in store but forgot to transfer old phone number ... even install a SIM card. 2) Upgraded wrong phone number on account ... my wife's phone stopped working and a new SIM card had to be installed ... had to call AT&T as a charge was placed on my account for upgrading too early. 3) Didn't give me the cable that comes with the phone ... when they couldn't find it suggested buying another cable and they would give me a discount ... eventually found it. Worst customer service experience I've ever had. I'm very understanding, as a customer service worker myself. When I came in, I explained that my phone wouldnt charge and was completely dead. I asked what was wrong, and basically directed me to getting a new expensive phone that's basically the same thing. Turns out he could fix it, as he finally gave in. His friend came in the store and he got very unprofessional, ignoring me to talk to him, as his friend rudely asked "how long you gonna be with her?" dismissing me. He couldn't explain the process of setting up my phone, and when he did I immediately discovered my new phone wasn't working as soon as I left the now closed store. I went in the next day, and a different worker, very sassy and openly annoyed at having to do anything didnt help me even when I told him what happened. I called my grandparents who had the account information & told them they needed to authorize me by calling 611. They kept doing it wrong and were confused, so they kept calling the store. This worker was very rude to my grandma and vocally angry, telling her not to keep calling. The worker angrily said he was having a bad day, never once apologizing for me not receiving a sim (without this my day was ruined, unable to look up bus routes and was late to work). once I was authorized this worker saw a pretty new customer walk in and walked over to her without a word, acting very polite/happy towards her. Finally a new worker came in and was able to give me a new sim within five minutes. No apologies at all and blatent disrespect, as well as incompetence. read more

We went to this store to upgrade a phone for a family member. Landon was friendly enough at the time. We were told everything was going to be one price that was reasonable and everything seemed fine (although I think he swindled us for more than we needed). Then the bill came. It was all lies and misinformation and a vastly different price than what we were told. Now, it's 2 months later. We've called dozens of times, the calls were never returned, when we finally got a hold of Landon (who is also the manager), we were given MORE misinformation. Another bill came and again, it's ridiculously high and did not reflect anything he told us. AND he added extra things to our account without our permission (like more data, insurance on multiple phones) Avoid this location. It's been a flipping nightmare straightening it all out. read more
