We came here to get a MacBook Neo and a Mac mini. We were greeted and when we told him what items we were in the market for he immediately told us that there were no Mac Mini's available and that was it. We had checked on our phones with the APPLE APP that stated that it was available for purchase and pick up at this location. The Guy proceeded to tell us that it was not available and ended with that. We said okay that's fine, and then asked if there were any MacBook Neo available and he stated yes and to go over to the "order pick up table". My fiancé and I arrived to the table and saw a team member kind of slouched over the table and when we approached her she stated are you here to pick up an order? We said no and then she said well who sent you over here? I said the guy that greeted us in the front. Already- I am annoyed, cause 1. WHY are you annoyed? 2. The whole time we were talking, she was slouched over ( in a lazy way), she was not making any eye contact with us at all! I was the one that was purchasing the MacBook Neo, but she would ask questions or talked to my fiancé instead, like she did not even acknowledge that I was there. He also stated to her that I was the one that is buying it and to redirect her questions to me. 2 more people arrived at the table for pick up but she seemed annoyed. Her mannerisms and attitude was very below average. She spoke very low and I had to lean into her to and ask her to repeat herself which just made her more annoyed. The other gentleman that had arrived maybe 20 minutes after us later then asked if she can get another person to the table to assist them and that is when she went over and grabbed " Jake" to come and assist. Jake was pleasant and kind and was able to answer all of our questions and gave us reassurance and was able to assist us with placing an order for a Mac mini. If it wasn't for Jake, I would have said F this and drove to another location that is out of my way. The team member that was at that table I later found out by her name tag was " Ivy". There was no introduction no nothing just " Who sent you here". Like TF? She was also wearing a mask which okay cool but with her speaking low it made it difficult to hear and understand her while slouched over the table the whole damn time! very not approachable! Honestly, we came here to purchase some items from Apple, and yet members of this team made it so difficult to communicate and buy, like it was a burden that we are in there spending hundreds of dollars. I am so surprised that this location is nice, so you expect that the customer service was also going to be nice as well but ended up being trashy attitudes when it comes to purchasing an item. Out of the 3 people from that location, 1 was nice, attentive and actually showed that he cared about the items we were buying. So Jake, thank you so much for that day, but after that I think I rather go to another Apple Store-for sure if you come here you will leave frustrated. -2/10 read more

Pick up for item ordered online went as expected. Good signage for where to go to pick up my order. However, I was surprised there was no greeting or someone trying to help given the immense amount of people in red shirts that work there who were just milling around. Even the pickup person didn't seem excited to be there and was very blah with his questions of what was needed from me to pick up my item. read more

Brand new phone & instead of giving me a new phone to replace, I wait 5 hours for some internal part replacement. Told I must go back to AT & T to get my phone reactivated (made no sense). AT & T said that should be on my sim card which they never mentioned having to replace and they think they gave me a new phone and my old phone still had all my info on it. I have lost trust in Apple. May be time to go to a different phone. None of this makes sense and my phone is still not working. read more

So many more employees than customers, we were initially surprised by the number of people in the store, soon realizing the majority were wearing the navy blue t-shirts. Staff were friendly, and gave great suggestions for things to do and see in the Portland area, as well as assisting us with our purchases. They were helpful, showed genuine interest in our visit and plans for our time in the area, and had great rapport. We also had the opportunity to sign up for and participate in the 20-30 minute Apple Vision Pro demo, which was cool, fun and the staff offering our "tours" so friendly. I had the pleasure of working with June who was very attentive and even answered some side quest questions about my phone while they were checking me in. Cons: the wait to receive my phone for a back glass fix was roughly 2 hours even with an appointment. The mall usually fixes the phone quicker than that. Good luck getting a hold of someone at the store. They kept me on hold for about 20 minutes then when I spoke with the rep, they were rude and wouldn't even give me their name. I asked to be speaking to a store manager regarding a $3000 Computer order they told me none were available for 48 hours. I asked if I could be put on hold and they disconnected. This was the second phone call I made to the same store first person I spoke with was named Dan second person was named Staff both equally rude. I have an iPhone 16 ProMax that has problems syncing messages and the microphone is sometimes choppy. After talking with Apple Support 4 or 5 times, a senior tech said the phone needs to be replaced. The nearest store in downtown Portland is about 40 minutes away. I called the store to verify they had a replacement but was told that they can't tell me that. I asked to speak with the Manager who not only said they can't hold a phone for a day, but if I come and they don't have one I'll have to keep coming back until they do, 80 minutes plus store time plus parking fees each time. I made a Genius Bar appointment ahead of time for help with some hardware. Charley was so patient, friendly, and thorough with troubleshooting the issues my product was having. I've had mixed experiences at other Apple stores and was dreading going in here for that reason but I had a great experience with Charley. I will say the check in was a little clunky at the door, it wasn't apparent how to check in and I had to just kinda wander for a minute then flag someone down, and there were a few rounds of repeating the same information that seemed a little unnecessary so I'm docking a star, but all in all Charley made this a great experience, such an awesome employee. The store is gorgeous as well, it was nice to look outside and see the sunshine while waiting for tests to finish on my hardware. Plenty of seating too. read more

I had a problem transiting between my old iphone & my new one. Went to Verizon which has been my carrier for years & where I bought the new phone. They charged me $25 for handling the transfer but weren't able to accomplish it. Big mistake--buy your Apple products through Apple!! I used to & have learned my lesson in the future. It took Jessie, the Genius tech specialist who helped me less than 15 minutes to sort it all out! He then told me of a potential problem because Apple had just released a new operating system for iphone. So he actually started that first, set me up at one of the bench spots & went on to service other clients whilst periodically checking on me . It took some time but heh I am retired. I just read & awhile later I left with my phone on the new operating system & with my backup downloaded & restored. BEST customer service experience I have had in ages. Jesse deserves a shout-up for being that rare combination of technically proficient & warm people skills. My wife and I have shopped this store a bunch and it has always been a good experience. The staff is incredibly friendly and very knowledgeable. I LOVE that I can schedule an apt ahead of time and have never had to wait when doing so. There is also ample parking in several garage within one or two blocks. read more

Alberto (I think that was his name, hispanic male with glasses and some tattoos) helped me a lot and was able to get my problem fixed at no cost to me, covered under warranty. Dropped in this morning to have the battery replaced in my iPhone. Lots of Apple people on the floor of the salesroom and a wizard demonstrating Apple Intelligence. However, the store is woefully understaffed with technical personnel in the back room that make Apple products work. Could not get an appointment to have a battery installed until late in the afternoon. They weren't sure that they even had a battery for the phone. Had to ask the young woman who was apparently helping me if she could check to see if the other stores in the area had appointments. Something someone with rudimentary customer service skills should have volunteered. She checked and found a walk-in appointment in the Tigard store. I reminded her that I can't use a map to find a store on a phone with a dead battery. She went to an iphone on the and showed me the map. I had to recommend that she go old school and print out the directions for me. She went to back of the store and was gone approximately 8 minutes. Had to ask another associate if she was coming back. The associate said she was looking for a computer. OMG, Really!!! Looking for a computer in a store that sells them! I asked if they had printers. She finally came out with the map. I watched the wizard demonstrate the features of Apple Intelligence while I waited. Then it dawned on me. Real Apple Intelligence must be defined by the service you provide to customers who own your products. Not by technological gimmicks that provide a dopamine high. BTW, I learned that my battery failed because of a software download to my phone that I had to make to sync it with the Apple watch that purchased at this same store on 12/6. After the download, the battery would not charge. Had the same problem with the iphone 6, several years ago. Tim, I urge you to start staffing Apple stores with more technical staff to service the equipment you sell. Do you really want to drive away customers over a battery replacement? I would also review the customer training that is provided to your associates. This was a pathetic experience. I have never had a worse customer experience, in any retail interaction, across every single shopping segment, in my entire life. Walking in the door, the individual that stepped up did not understand what I wanted, continued to force a solution down a path I did not want, a path that was irrelevant to the problem I was trying to solve, for over 10 minutes. When I asked to speak to another person, they directly refused that and worsened the situation with extremely unprofessional comments. My husband bought a refurbished iPad at Target recently, and it started having issues so I brought it into the Apple Store to have staff look at it. They determined it was a fault of the product, and gave me a replacement right then, at no cost. They helped me with the setup of the new iPad, and everything went great. I called to see if coming to get a new phone today was practical before flying out of town for vacation tonight. I was encouraged on the phone that it would be relatively quick if I came in this afternoon . I live 15 minutes away and allotted 2.5 hours for the tedious task. But that wasn't enough! Okay we can't blame Apple for the riots and Covid. It's an all glass building and they need to protect it and their staff. I am just happy they didn't skip town. They have done what they needed for survival. You no longer need an appointment to get in and the security person was welcoming and didn't ask any questions. We went first thing when it opened on a Saturday and there were 8-10 staff members lined up to help people as they entered. Others were already helping people. Please be careful if you have any hearing difficulties at all, they offer zero accomidations, it is very difficult to hear in this environment, there is so quiet place, they also expect you to make phone calls to solve problems. I took my iPhone 7 to this store after my phone would not turn on. I researched it and said I would like a new batterie because I did research and there was a recall on batteries so I thought there is a good chance that's the issue. They said they tried hooking it up to the machine in the back and confirmed it's not the batterie. Well it took me 2 years but instead of paying them $350 for a Refurbished iPhone 7 I said I'll keep it and try swapping the batterie my self. So I bought a $15 batterie and $10 tool and swapped it and it works like new. Sounds like they try to have u swap your phone and pay $350 for a phone that someone else handed over and they just put a $15 batterie in it well nice profit . I will not be going back to this store ever and I also waited 2 hours for this bad service after I made an appointment that didn't really help me get seen any faster. read more

I didn't have to wait for service (at all) on a Monday shortly after the store opened. Describing why I was in the store took longer than getting help. (I was replacing a dying iPad with a new model and then self-transferring data from old iPad to new one in the store with a tech support guy available to help me and the whole table in case of trouble.) My salesperson (Henry) was knowledgeable and inclined to talk me out of the very most expensive product I thought I wanted (2 Tb) for a slightly cheaper (1 Tb) model. At the self-serve tech support table, the guy helping seemed to really know his stuff and talked me through clicking past various menus to speed up the transfer process (my choice) since I thought I could update ApplePay, etc., later, on my own. What's weird is that they don't validate parking anymore. Admittedly, I haven't lived in PDX since the 1990's and just happened to be in town after my old device's battery crashed (while visiting family.) Even at the most expensive mall in Portland (from my grunge era youth), no parking stamp? Wow, it blows my mind. Then again, half of Pioneer Place is empty and all the interesting artistic stores seem to be gone, so maybe they can barely pay for their garage and really need a few bucks from me? I liked Coach leather more than Gucci and Louis Vuitton, and I really loved the art gallery store where I used to buy one of a kind jewelry in the first few years of this downtown mall, but all that is gone, along with the best optical store I ever went to for snazzy glasses. Anyone else remember that Koala Blue shop?... At any rate, I thought it was obnoxious that I had to pay $12 to park my car to spend $1800 for a new iPad, but, fortunately, that isn't going to destroy my budget. If Pioneer Place (or Apple) is serious about courting high end customers, though, it really ought to validate parking. read more

First, this store is light, bright, clean, modern, minimalist and absolutely gorgeous with all glass walls like a human fishbowl. Now that I got that out of the way, let's talk about the customer service. The employees here are competent, super smart in their field, but never make the customer feel that they are lacking intelligence. They translate techie speak into "human" so anyone, whatever their level of technology is, can understand. That's a skill! A great skill. I spent 20 years in high tech and I can say that most techies can not articulate issues to those who are not. I call it bilingual and it's a valuable talent! The Apple employees have that ability. I've stopped in when I've had issues with my iPad or iTunes on my PC (I still use a Samsung phone) and they have been able to trouble shoot and resolve most issues. Maybe that's why this store is crowded every day, all day. It actually cracks me up. Pioneer Square is loaded with stores of all types, and it's practically deserted. As is the Microsoft store. But Apple, always filled with people. They must be doing something right! read more

Love Apple products but the service has gone down hill at Apple stores experience for years - this Apple Pioneer Square location is no exception. Came here this past weekend, and purchased 2 Iphones for my family and a Macbook air. The two associates that were helping clearly did not enjoy their jobs. One kept checking her apple watch for the time, about 10x times in the span of the 20 minutes we interacted - definitely made me feel rushed. The other associate up charged me $60 for 2 unlocked Apple phones, when I specifically asked to get the TMobile versions which would have saved me $30 per phone. He didn't want to do help setup my old phone to my new phone. Apple - Please do something to improve your in-store experiences. I always keep my expectations high for the products, and low for the store experiences. These experiences are making me contemplate switching back to Google Pixel products. read more
