Short story: My daughter trashed her phone and it needed replacing. They came through and even saved me money! When we first arrived, the associate on the floor did not have the authorization to do a full replacement on sight - no problem, our account rep Joe hustled over and met us at the store 15 minutes later. He not only helped us get our replacement but found credits in our account that ended up saving more money than before as well. I went into the store were we buy our phones. There was one employee, no customers. I explained that my Galaxy S8 was not accepting voice mail and asked him if he could figure it out. He took the phone, tried one thing and said I cannot help you. He said I must call their technical support number. He did not give me the number until I asked. I went home, worked on the phone again and in about 5 minutes found the problem and solution. I have noticed, the last few times in, that this location's service has gone downhill. Went into this store for about 20 mins and took a hard pass. When I came into the store, the woman at the front counter seemed like she was helping a customer. Which, no issue, but maybe greet the new customer and let him know the situation. There was another customer who had also walked in and was senselessly waiting. After 20 minutes of watching a customer interaction turn into personal conversation and light flirting, then eating at the front counter, I decided to ask if there was anyone else in the store to help. My greeting came in a sarcastic response that really just sealed the deal to the whole interaction. If you don't want to get lied to your face about whatever pricing and service you need, and get hidden fees later on your bill without your knowledge or consent, all while getting the run around from the workers in store and through the phone, DO NOT GO HERE. I wish I had read the reviews before all of this happened and I went in to use their service. I was texted a special trade in offer for my iPhone from Verizon and it was time for an upgrade so I went to this location for my new phone. I was offered a 700$ trade in value for my iPhone. I requested to pay the difference in store versus having it on my monthly statement. Austin Carter who helped me said I would be charged for the iPhone difference in store, and I purchased some new accessories as well. I didn't see the screen as he was charging me nor did I see the receipt, he said it would be emailed to me. Next month on my statement I see only a 50$ trade in credit, with a new monthly phone bill additional amount on my automatic withdrawal. He overcharged me for accessories and didn't apply what I payed for in store toward phone so now it's saying I still have to pay the difference. This was back in beginning of April when I went in store, it is now end of August and I am still dealing with these frauds and am going to Verizon customer service directly instead of trying to communicate with this store as Austin just stopped replying to me via email. Verizon is notorious for bad customer service but this location blows that out of the water. Please save yourself the stress and go somewhere else! Came into the store thinking it's a Verizon store. Asked if they can troubleshoot my phone because it had issues with the sd card. The store manager, Joe, told me that my sd card reader was broken & the phone is no good cuz of it Said I needed a new phone. Then did the spill of getting me a great deal. Basically misled into thinking you're getting a great deal when they are charging extras you're unaware of until you get the bill. By that time, you've lost your phone in the trade off and paying full price on a new phone plus extras. In the end, they got my 6 months old phone for free. Scams. Fraud. Lies. Gaslighting. Hey customer, you get a free iPad with purchase. Isn't that great?! Adding my experience to the numerous others. We were offered free iPads with phone purchase. My husband didn't want one and was smart enough not to take it. Of course, I'm not. When we get the bill, there it is, we are paying off $470 for the iPad over 2 years plus monthly service. Approximately $1000 of products and service. That's when I find the other reviews for this store on Yelp and Google reviews. Dig deeper and discover this store is owned by Victra, a 3rd party retailer, and similar fraud echos across the country for their 1400+ stores. The store gets you nowhere. They will lie to your face. If you are female, the men in this store are dedicated practitioners of gaslighting. I started looking on LinkedIn and connected with the former VP of Marketing at Victra who left 2 months ago. He was willing to speak with me on the phone and he told me the execs at Victra are well aware of the rampant fraud and create this culture of high pressure. I had to call the Verizon corporate line and speak with 4 different people over 3 days and tweet until a supervisor made some of it right. Do not stop. Keep saying what happened to you: FRAUD. You need to talk to the fraud line, not customer care. This enabled me to remove the service and the multiple fraudulent fees that were added to my account. I wrote a review on the North Caroline BBB (where Victra is HQ) - this got a response from Victra customer service and they ultimately did take the iPad back (7 weeks after the sale and no restocking fee so don't believe their 14 day BS). It took about 20 hours of my time to get my money back. I spoke with several lawyers as the VP told me Victra responds to letters from lawyers. No one even wanted to take my money to write a letter because it is so hopeless. There is binding arbitration clause so you cannot sue them. Your only recourse is persistence and public shame. Mike was our salesperson. Joe Walter is the store manager (and pretty sure wrote one of the 5 star reviews for this store here on Yelp). Hayan Rousan is the district manager. Joe mentioned Hayan never has to come to the store because they are the most profitable one! Now I see how they do it. Rich Balot owns Victra. He accepted my LinkedIn connection and I just bought richardbalot.com. Haven't decided what to do with it yet. I have also connected with as many Verizon execs as I could and plan to share all of the reviews about scams I collect with Diego Scotti, the CMO who I have heard cares about the Verizon brand. I have considered some mystery shopping with camera as I'm 100% sure I could get them on film doing this again. I would be open to picketing the store. Take deep breaths. Alec was an absolute lifesaver today!!!! A Verizon chat agent managed to delete my account and phone number after requesting that they change one of the features I subscribed to. When I went to make a call a few hours later, my phone was useless. My phone number was "not recognized when I tried to log into my Verizon account. Alec contacted Verizon corporate directly and worked with tech support to get my old number back and restore my account! read more

To sum up my nightmare with this store: I walked in here two weeks ago on a Saturday with my grandma. When we found out her phone wasn't replaceable we started looking at new ones. The sales staff were welcoming and helpful in this area. My grandma decided on the Google Pixel 3. After being told the price of the phone we were told about a $300 promotion also (FIRST LIE) and we had a phone to trade in. It didn't take long to get the new phone ready since my grandma didn't have anything to transfer on her old phone. We paid the amount for the phone and were told the promotion would be over the 24 months and show up on our bill as "promo credit" etc. I have been a customer of Verizon's for 10+ years so I understood that piece. I found it a little odd their was no receipt for my grandma's purchase though, and when we asked for any paper trail from there on it was "it's all online, it will show up on your bill, or we don't have access to print it here." After that, we also asked about trading in my phone. I was quickly shown the best trade in for my iphone which was the iphone XR. I was told out of the blue a number of $250 for my trade in. This number then went back and forth between $200 and $250. Since it would now take some time to get both phones going, my grandma and I continued our errands and were encouraged to go do them which was helpful (at least I thought). We got back just under two hours later. I first asked about a phone case for my grandma's phone since I wasn't seeing one anywhere. I again got a "off of the top of my head number"- $50. I thought that was a little high and asked him to check. Then I got well wait a second, let me look and think about this.... okay $35. It was at this time when I asked about mine and they told me they put a case on it and screen protector and it's good to go. I again asked for a write up or print out of the costs of each phone line today (cost of phone plus trade in value, plus any accessories for each line etc.). Now I was told that all those things would be reviewed at the "post sales receipt" checkout. So we waited patiently for about 30 min. more before it was our turn. Marquis sat us down at a table and went over the "receipt." Which turned out to really be a checklist....It literally says "post sales checklist" at the top. He started to review all our changes for the day which were quite a few (hence why I wanted a receipt of everything). This is when he added, the only thing we haven't discussed is the tablet... which confused me at first because I NEVER ONCE MENTIONED THE WORDS TABLET OR THAT I WANTED ONE. The tablet was apparently part of a promotion deal which was part of the discount we got on our change of phone plan (since ours was not offered anymore, he changed it to the one that is and told us it would save money). Note though, while I agreed to the tablet on our plan as in I was told it would show up as another line and have a charge but then the promo credit would cover all that, I DID NOT THINK I WOULD BE GOING HOME WITH AN ACTUAL TABLET IN MY BAG. When I saw this shortly after leaving the store, I called Marquis back. He said you can do what you would like with the tablet (gift it, sell it etc. it wouldn't impact your bill (WRONG) Also missing from my bag though were the boxes for the VERY EXPENSIVE screen protectors put on both phones but not asked to. Nor did we have any receipt or proof of purchase for those things. And to add to that, it turns out they put protectors on the back of phones now so each phone had two protectors costing over $200! And to add to that even more, I was rang up for two iPhone XR protectors instead of one XR and one Google Pixel. And to add to that one more time. you NEED the box with the codes on the back to get your reimbursement/lifetime warranty. CHECK YOUR BAG BEFORE YOU LEAVE- one thing I can share :)) With the tablet and my grandma's promotion, we were told we would get about $39.50 in promotions on our bill. The bill posted the next day, and not only was that not the case but it was far worse. For the tablet line I had: - an activation fee, a monthly data fee, and insurance!!! ** no promotion at all For my grandma's phone: - insurance (didn't even talk about or mention) and promotional credit for $200 not $300 The following weekend I went back (with extensive notes and questions and comments on my very long and heavy bill...). Marquis was there. I was friendly but at the same time pretty irritated and feeling really taken advantage of. Marquis tried to validate all the numbers again, couldn't give me any any paper trail still etc. I was able to have the tablet removed but not before being told it was $105 restocking fee. I paid $50 after some debate. I was also told I would lose my new plan, and get the old one back. None of it made sense, I left to find help elsewhere. DO NOT GO HERE. Unless you want a headache. The sales associate was less than interested in being helpful and made me feel a bit like an idiot regarding decisions on my phone. He changed our plan without notifying us. This resulted in a phone call to verizon lasting more than 40 minutes to recover our old plan. I purchased a screen cover with my new phone and he installed it, threw away the box and told me to register it. When I got home to register the screen cover I needed the upc on the package. Ean was so helpful today when I went to upgrade my phone! He explained everything carefully and patiently and made sure I had plenty of time to read the terms and conditions before signing. He showed me how my new phone works and set up a transfer of all my photos and contacts from my old phone. He showed me the phones I was interested in looking at instead of trying to show me the newest and flashiest ones. I'm very, very happy with my experience there and recommend that if you're in the market for a phone or contract and are a bit paranoid of being taken advantage of (like I am, thanks to my ex-cell phone carrier that rhymes with lint) then come on over here and they'll set your mind at ease. read more

I went in panicked, needing a new phone right away. I got an attitude when I said I intended to stick with Apple. The deal I was given for my upgrade was 20% more than the price I was quoted when I went home and looked at the Verizon website for the exact same phone. I'm glad I waited, though I didn't even get a goodbye from any of the salespeople when I politely said I needed time to consider their offer. I made sure to ask if there were any hidden fees with the tablet and he assured me twice that there were none. Cut to two months later and I see on my phone bill two new charges- $40 activation fee and $14 monthly fee for the tablet (still in its case sitting in my office). I went to the store and asked about the charges and they guy working told me there's a hefty $175 fee to cancel and the plan is for 2 YEARS! Biggest scam I've ever encountered. I don't understand how they are in business. I went in for the promotion that included a free iPad with the purchase of a new iPhone. They said the iPhones weren't in stock (I showed them on my phone that they were and they were like "oh I guess you're right". Then they said the cheapest plan was $80 and I showed them again on the website there was a cheaper plan for $70. He again acted like he was surprised but that I was correct. Well, he signed me up for the more expensive plan anyway, and didn't activate the promotion for the free iPad which was going to charge me $470. Verizon confirmed this and the employee that "helped" me out when I came back in said they made a mistake and could fix it, only after arguing that the promo kicks in after a few months. Y'all lied, there's no fixing fraud. They charged me $50 for a restocking fee. I understand if someone doesn't like the product that they should pay that, but I was LIED to!! I want that money back. I wish I had the name of the second employee, but Austin was the guy that I dealt with the first time, and it seems like everyone working there are scammers. Literally saw an employee basically forcing an older lady to buy all of these accessories she didn't want or need. It was horrible to witness. I wish I could go back in time, read the reviews below, and avoid this store like the plague. My partner and I went to upgrade our phones and get on the same plan. They were wildly understaffed, stressed and rushed, and we were there for 4 hours. Our bill was never explained, but it seemed like the staff were honestly trying to give us the best deal, and we were tired and hungry, so we signed, paid and left without a detailed breakdown. Before leaving, we were alarmed to find a Samsung tablet that we didn't ask for in our bag. We were assured that it was free, that it wasn't tied to a monthly line, and we could sell it or do whatever we wanted with it. A few weeks later, after our first bill (surprise: we're being charged for a tablet plan) and a detailed review of the original invoice (we paid $50 for the tablet and $300+ for a bunch of other stuff we didn't want), we returned to the store. Regarding the tablet lies, we were told "I'll send my manager an email, but you signed all the paperwork, so it's really a he-said versus she-said at this point." We're working with VZW corporate to fix it now, and they're lovely. Just wish we would've gone to a corporate store originally to get 10+ hours of our lives back. read more

They tried to convince me it was a good deal (it wasn't). Regardless, I didn't want it. I was gobsmacked that Verizon does this -- charges more for in-store purchases -- so I called them to complain. Turns out, it's just this store trying to scam you. It wasn't even a hard sell up-sell, it was a requirement. Apparently third-party resellers try to pull this stuff all the time and Verizon can't do much to stop them. They present themselves as if it is Verizon's policy when it isn't. I didn't realize that it is a third-party reseller; the signage looks the same. Nor did I know that third-party resellers engage in this sort of shady behavior. Read Heather's review below. We have been Verizon customers for over a decade and used this Victra store for the first time. Our experience was almost a duplicate of ours. They sold us a package that should have decreased our monthly. Instead, the package shot up our monthly payment. Three months in and Joseph still can't solve the problem. He tries to wear you down with bureaucratic excuses and wastes your time on the phone, mishandles simple information, delays for weeks and hopes you will give up. I got help with my phone bill and was severely misquoted. There were a lot of fees hidden in between when I actually talked to Verizon over the phone. Then I got talked into buying this new device because I was told it would make my bill cheaper. There were a lot of fees that were not explained and then it turns out the device did not help my bill at all. It turns out the store is not an official Verizon store. It's a third party provider, so maybe they had ulterior motives because of that? I just feel like I got shanghaied. read more

These guys are total liars. They will tell you anything and even write out an itemized bill to get you to agree to a contact with a free tablet, but wait until your first bill comes. The bill was supposed to go up thirty dollars to about $250 for an additional line and two new phones, but the bill was $450! When we went to return the "free" tablets, they told us it was past the 14 day return policy and we were stuck with them. Problem is, we did not get our first bill until after the 14 days. Corporate won't help because this store is independently owned. We didn't even want the tablets. They lied to us and told us that they can get us a discount on the new phone line of we purchase the phone bundled with the "free" tablet. In fact I had to threaten Verizon that I would switch to another provider to replace my brand new iPhone that stopped working within two weeks of purchasing it. Long story short it quit working while I was traveling abroad by myself and it left me in a very vulnerable situation. The manager of this store said they couldn't do anything for me because it was outside of the two week period of my purchase when I had been out of the country for 10 days of the 14. Went in today to trade in my iPhone that was glitching for a new one. Jessikah was tremendously helpful in talking me through all of my options. She was great about recommending accessories and was very respectful about accepting my answer when I said I needed to wait to think about things before purchasing (cases, insurance etc.). As she was setting up my new phone, her manager, Alec, interrupted the entire setup process for another five minutes to mansplain everything Jessikah had just gotten done trying to sell us but in a very condescending and pushy manner using lots of metaphors. At one point Jessikah even said, yep I told them all of this already, and she was right. After I got done telling him I was still going to wait to buy things *surprise*, we then overheard him yelling at someone on the phone (hopefully another employee, and not a customer, although you shouldn't be talking to anyone in that tone of voice) about how he said something and they just didn't hear him. How they were wrong and he was right. It wasn't a good look especially when you're trying to make me trust you enough to by something. How are your employees supposed to thrive when you don't trust them to do their job? Do better, Alec. read more

I thought that this was a good store until I received my bill. The manager, Joseph lied and took advantage of us. He said he had a great promotion for us and brought out the phones we wanted. Then he brought tablets and chargers that we didn't ask for. My grandson asked if there any hidden charges for the tablets and he said no, leading us to believe that the tablets were free as part of the promotion. I called Verizon about the bill and found our that I was being charged for things that I didn't even ask for...they told me to take the things back to the store. When we got to the store, we were told that they could not take the take the things back because the manager wasn't there and it was against the law. Joseph was on vacation and would be gone for the rest of the week so we would have to come back. I told him that I was told by Verizon to bring them back and it was noted in my account. He called Joseph and he said no. When we were finally able to find Joseph at the store he refused to take the things back because it was over 14 days. Then I found out that he cancelled the insurance on all my phone lines, saying that I didn't want it...another lie. I will never go back to that store, and I hope that Verizon sees how many times he has done this to others and doesn't allow it to continue.
