i just had a really positive experience with this store. Chantel was ready for my appointment and immediately had ideas to fix my internet problems. I've been here in the past for the same issue which would take nearly an hour and not get much done. I visited this store to upgrade my phone. They ended up overcharging me on my next bill. When I came back to have it rectified, I was told that a manager would have to approve the credit and that he would call me by the end of the day...no call. I went back the next week to follow up. I was told that the manager was "on vacation" and that he would apply the necessary credits when he returned from vacation and then call me to explain them...again, no call (and no credits!). I called Farrah Johnson, who had given me her card, to follow up...no call back. I called again and left a stern message...no call back. The staff and the management at this store lack the basic concepts of customer service. I do not recommend patronizing this particular store. If you have to visit an AT&T store for whatever reason, go to Southfield or Clawson. read more

I brought in my phone. It had what turned out to be a bad SIM card, but didn't know that when I walked in. They sat me down with a tech immediately, and after asking a few questions, took my phone, and started working on it. The guy was friendly and chatted with me while checking the phone out, which set me at ease. As it was a refurb I bought online, I was afraid it might turn out to be bad news. He said he was pretty sure I just got a bad SIM card that pooped out. He popped on a new one as and it worked fine. No cost or charge. Other that a quick upsell attempt, and he didn't try to hard sell it, (are you interested in upgrading your Direct Now? No, well come see us when you are...) It was a great visit. I was in and out within 20 minutes, and most all of it was working on the phone. read more

I bought my new iPhone here after a really HORRIBLE experience buying my last phone two years ago at the AT&T store at 14/Crooks. This store is (relatively) brand-new, has plenty of parking, and is clean and spacious. No one actually approached me to ask if I needed help, but when I went up the customer service desk, I was helped right away. My sales associate (I feel terrible that I don't remember her name) was very nice and friendly, and didn't try to upsell me one single bit! As a matter of fact I had to ask if my plans/rate would be the same as I had with my Blackberry Torch, and she assured me yes. Such a relief when I was already bracing myself to fend off add-ons and upsells. (One hint...the Apple Care and other insurances they offer may sound tempting...except that they have a $200 deductible that was never mentioned!!! Granted I said NO before she could tell me many more details, because I'll just buy a new phone for THAT price!) She asked to see my old phone, and of course I handed it over, knowing that she'd be switching over service. After plugging it and my new iPhone into some kind of device, she advised me that she was porting over all my data (photos, contacts, e-mails, etc) and would I like to have a seat while that finished? My first thought...WHOA I'm glad I don't have any nude pics on my phone someone might accidentally see! Second thought...well, I was kinda going to do that myself manually (which I ended up having to do anyway, since NONE of the calendars/appointments ported over) but...okay. I'd rather it had been offered instead of assumed, though. Sat and waited fifteen minutes for that, and then she brought everything back over to me, before walking me to the door without rushing me a bit. She really was a doll and if I hunt down my receipt I'll update this review with her name. Only thing I'm disappointed about...I work for a major employer in the immediate area (guess which one, based on the location) and filled out all the paperwork for an employee plan discount, handed over my ID for photocopying, etc. A few days later I got a text from the AT&T department that handles employee plans saying I needed to call to verify my employment. I did...and was told that the employee ID number the store had sent them brought up NOTHING (I just told them my employer, they looked up the ID number). At some point I'll have to stop back in or visit another store to see if they have any suggestions, I was definitely bummed that I couldn't get my discount, especially for what iPhone plans run. BUT OVERALL...I got exactly what I went in looking for (for the most part), was treated with courtesy and real friendliness, I would absolutely recommend this store and will visit it again. read more

I went to get my upgrade in the royal oak store and having a combined bill it did take a little longer to load than most accounts typically would. The gentleman helping me diligently kept his patience and even stayed late after the store hours to help me. It was exhausting but I did get what I needed to be done, done. If the whole experience wasn't miserable enough at the end of the night the most disturbing part happened...by an employee. There was pounding on the door (extremely loud pounding) by who I overheard from staff that was an employee. He pounded louder and louder and I believe he startled not only myself but the other customers in the store. He was a middle eastern (Indian?) man and in the world we live in, when someone of that nationality is erratically pounding on the door after hours, naturally people worry that something unfortunate is about to take place. Went in after calling last week asking the process to change the name on an account as I would get an additional discount with it being in my name. Was told that I would have to come into the store for that to be done. I went into the store today which was empty and was greeted by an employee sitting at a table halfway across the room who refused to get up and told us to walk over to her. I told her what I was trying to do and she said that it was something that was done online. I explained I was specifically told that it had to be done in store which is why I was there and she seemed annoyed by my presence. I started to do the process online after she had sent me a link to swap the names. She was very bothered by having to help me but gave the minimal instructions necessary to walk me through it all while refusing to pull her face away from her tablet despite it not being used to assist me in any way. Part way through I was told that my AT&T account had been temporarily locked to protect my information due to me trying to change the name as the employee instructed. When I told the employee this all she rudely said was that I would have to try later and there was nothing else to be done. I then left the store and went to the competitor down the street and am no longer an AT&T customer. read more

Went in to upgrade a phone. Got to the store and was told I'd have to wait till a representative could assist me. I don't mind waiting for I did not have an appointment. A few minutes later a representative said he'd help us in one minute and just had to do something in the back. Waited for another 5 minutes, to him coming out from the back to inform his work mates he was going on break. Very unprofessional. If your going to tell a customer you'd be with them in a minute, then say you are. Would not recommend this store for any AT&T customers. The store further up near 14 mile on woodward has better service than this store. read more

Learn to answer your fucking phone, called all day attempting to make an appointment (Dont want to be stuck there for hours as in the past) they only answered once but then hung up. So incredibly unprofessional. read more

I wanted to call and find out if they had the new iPhone 6 models on display so I could look at them in person and decide which one I wanted. The first time I called the system hung up on me instead of letting me wait on hold, the second time I did get ahold of a rep. He constantly interrupted me and assumed he knew what I wanted, which wasn't why I was calling. I let him finish then coldly explained that I knew the iPhone wasn't in stock but wanted to know if they just had display models. I think he realized from the tone of my voice that I wasn't happy and after that, the call went fine. Once at the store we had a long wait but the salesperson, Shawn, was very nice and helpful. It was a six week wait for the iPhone 6 Plus so I decided to get the regular iPhone 6 128 GB which they had two of in stock. We got exactly what we decided on with no hard sell for extra items. He even installed the glass protector that he'd recommended which I thought was a good idea. I highly recommend this store, but I would call and make an appointment rather than just walk in--if you can get someone on the phone, that is. read more

I have been happy with the store in the past. But not today. I arrived and was the first person and wine. There were three staff working. One finished up and then disappeared. Another one was more interested in talking about beer and breweries that actually proceeding with service. I left after a half hour without any assistance. Amazing customer service! My wife upgraded her phone today and I'm amazed that we actually enjoyed the experience. Our service rep Tim and the manager Jeff were both very nice and helpful. Not at all pushy, and they gave excellent, useful advice, including an honest recommendation to take my phone somewhere else for a minor repair. This is the best run cell phone store I've been to, with a great staff and manager. Keep it up! read more

I bought a new phone from Lanse and he was awesome! He really took the time to walk us through our options and find us the phone/plan that is right for us! Terrible service.......when I called them they put me on hold for half an hour. They CHARGE YOU FOR CALLS YOU DON'T MAKE. THERE WERE CHARGES ON MY BILL THAT I KNOW I DIDN'T MAKE FOR DIRECTORY ASSISTANCE. SINCE MY PHONE HASN'T BEEN WORKING FOR AWHILE....USED MY OTHER PHONE. They tried to argue with me about the charges.......I told them really.......No one could of made these calls since my phone hasn't been working for awhile. So watch your phone bill...........at two dollars a call it adds up. They are probably doing this to other people and they just don't notice. How can you prove it . They do this to a million customers at two bucks a call and they just made a cool two million dollars for doing nothing. The biggest scam of the decade. How many years have they been doing this for? I know I have been charged before for directory assistance and I don't use it. I always check numbers for free on the internet. THE BIGGEST SCam of the decade. read more
