Had a terrible experience here last Sunday. Went in to simply add my service back to a new Apple phone and a sales rep, Christian, said they could lower my bill. They ended up lying about promotions and things that would lower my bill but ultimately they added a line, home tech protection and cancelled my wife's grandfathered insurance mobile insurance. This took my bill way up from my original. The first month being over a hundred dollars more and then 50 or sodollars more each month after. I am still having to have att change things back and not sure they will honor the mobile insurance plan. They also said it came with free Apple AirPods and I would just have to pay taxes - yet I was signed up for an installment plan for the full price of the air pods. Scam artists. read more

Michael, store manager, was very patient and helpful in assisting me with my new Samsung phone. The first challenge was remembering my password, which I struggled to do. Michael gave me good instructions on how to reset my password using my desktop at home. The following day I returned and he helped me transfer all the data and content from my old phone to the new one.. not an easy process since I had very little storage on my phone. We had to uninstall several apps to aid in this process. Once started, the transfer took a good amount of time but the outcome was successful. The only hiccup is that I have not been able to sync my outlook, so I am currently unable to get my email. read more

Have been on the phone with "customer support" several times ( after a very long wait). They are more interested in "keeping your business as a long-standing AT&T user". Went in on Sunday June 19th, my goal was to upgrade my phone to the 13 pro max. I did, but not before the rep told me multiple times I didn't qualify even though I Fay for next up and have paid off MORE then 50% of my previous device. Fine okay, maybe she is new, annoyed about it, but in the end it was figured out. Got my new phone, we are porting over my information, took about 45 minutes, totally my fault for having so much stuff of my phone. We finish, I leave my old 12 pro max in silver on the table after I factory reset it to get my information off of it, I go about my happy way. Fast forward to today, the 24th of June 2022. I get a voicemail while I'm at work, from AT&T manager ambrosia. Asking me to bring the old phone back by 9 pm today in an accusing tone. I tried to call the store back multiple times no answer. Then I get a text message from ambrosia basically stating the same thing. I then tried to call again and she picked up. Asked her to please go check the cameras because I know I left it there. She said she would and then call me back. over an hour later she texted me, didn't even have the guts to call me back like she said she would. Stating they have located the old phone! Surprise! First of all, it's been 6 days since your rep should have turned it in on your end. Is the protocol to wait? Why not check that phone in to be ready to be sent off as soon as possible? How did something like that go unnoticed for this long? Especially when it would probably be a costly mistake, that I would be the "responsible party" Funny enough, when I was being helped by Jeanette she asked Gary, if there was anything else I needed to do or sign before I left, he then said to her " oh! Thanks for reminding me!" Ran over grabbed a phone that I assume was turned in from an upgrade as well.. but he said "you reminded me to check in this phone from yesterday." That should have been my first red flag. I've never had an issue like this before, and I used to have T-Mobile. Call me a Karen I don't care. I work retail too and I understand parts of why things get missed. But I would never call a guest and make them feel like a criminal. read more

We were looking at an iPhone upgrade and talked with Zach, the sales associate. He spent a considerable time with us, ensuring we got the very best deal and never tried to upsell. His demeanor was professional and his knowledge and skill set very impressive! He was dedicated to giving us customized service, educating us with the newer tech functionality and helping us initiate the data transfer process. I've never felt so hopeless and disrespected in my life! I was SUPPOSE to getting assisted by an associate call CJ Johnson he had no regard or empathy for my situation. After getting my phone fixed because of the failed phone calls a couple days ago a new problem occurred causing my phone to not have access to any data. I asked MR. Johnson to help me with my issues but instead he choose to tell me that he isn't customer service so there was no way he could help me and said he was going to watch the floor instead of helping a paying customers. I've never waited longer than 15 minutes to be seen. The staff is more than professional. Even helped me at not cost, to turn off voice over on my iPad after I made the mistake of turning it on and it seized control. The only issue I have with AT&T is the mobile app and customer service. There is never an 24/7 USA phone number available. Only during bankers hours and half the time you reach Bollywood and the language barrier. What annoys me the most about the app is it wants to verify me every time with a text message. I can understand the first few time but not all the time. Seems I should be a valued customer by now and haven't bailed for T Mobile or one of the upstarts like Boost Mobile. I had an AT&T cell phone for 11 years now. Never complained about the dead spots, losing service when lost and relying on Google Maps. This store location is great but the National level isn't with customer service. Mr. Jone was the worst sales associate I'd ever ran into. He did not greet, smile, or even answer questions. He sat there liked he was my boss and I was taking every minute of his personal time. Luckily, a nice lady did the talk and Mr. Jone did the work. Later, I found this phone insurance charge on my bill that I had never asked for. I called ATT customer service and had the fee removed. I don't want Mr. Jone to lose his job but he definitely needs some training. read more

I came in here for a simple transfer of a phones. I have been waiting for over an hour now. There are 4 people working here. Two people who check you in and two people who service customers. There are two customers that have been served for over an hour and not one additional person has been helped in an hour. Many people have just left because they've been waiting for so long. Why do you have two people for check in?!? They are just standing here and talking while everyone else is waiting for some customers to decide whether or not they want rose gold or gold?!? People love bitching about cell phone companies. Blah, blah, blah, AT&T is the worst, blah, blah blah. I've never had a problem. Service at this store is excellent, and depending on what time of day you go, they will have more representatives to help you than there are customers in the store. Been here a few times and I've never waited more than 10 seconds, and the service was top notch. They will try to sell you some peripherals with your new phone, because it's their job or whatever. I suggest Amazon or some other online retailer for your accessories because they are rather expensive here. Other than that, no complaints. read more

When I think of an AT&T store, I think of a closet-sized hole in the wall with barely enough room to breath, let alone move around and shop. The Southcenter Mall location, by comparison, is the size of a warehouse! Well, not literally a warehouse, but the location is spacious, at least twice the size of my apartment. That may not be saying much, though, since my place is the size of a postage stamp. Ok , not a literal postage stamp, because you can't live in something that small... You know what I mean, right? Uh, where was I going? Oh yeah! It felt spacious. We'll leave it at that? Within a minute, I was approached by one of the floor staff. He was very outgoing, friendly and courteous. He didn't seem bored, cranky or high, like some of the other people I've dealt with before. I told him I needed to reactivate my phone; he brought me over to their service desk to run it through. In all, I was in-and-out within 15 minutes. I feel funny recommending an AT&T facility, but here we are. This was *by far* the best experience I've had in one of these places. Saw the bad reviews but there weren't a lot of good ones for any of the area AT&T stores so this one seemed to be the lesser of 3 evils. Was greeted at the door by Samantha. Taylor got my old iPhone 4 up and running. I had a bunch of questions about the new iPhone 6s+ (thanks for that mouthful, Apple) with plans, payments and warranties vs Apple, squaretrade. He was pretty knowledgeable and courteous. Samantha helped me out with questions about the Samsung gear vs Apple watch. There were only a couple of people in here (Tues around 12 seems to be a great time to visit for no wait service) and I was helped right away. So with the complaints about wait times I think it's all in when you go in. I had the day off so I got lucky. Yay me :) read more

An incredibly positive experience when my wife and I wanted to purchase two new phones and adjust and combine our voice and data plans. Andrew greeted us promptly and took the time (hour?) to explain every facet of AT&T's numerous plans, some of which were fairly counter-intuitive. In the end, we got the phones we wanted, the right plans for our family, and some accessories...and saved a lot by having an attentive customer service rep. No up-selling or hard selling, just the facts and a great deal. The store is clean and orderly, though can be a bit hard to find if you enter the mall from the 'wrong' side. Maybe a sign in the mall would help a bit, since the store is parking lot-facing and does not have an in-mall entrance I can see how the staff could get overwhelmed, but, on the other hand, buying a phone is always a long transaction, so coming in at busy times (Sunday mid-day) is probably to be avoided. Call ahead, too, to ensure they have what you want in stock. Accessory selection was fair. We ended up getting some things at Best Buy around the corner to supplement what we purchased here. Worst store ever! I usually go to the at&t store at North Gate Mall but I went here because it was closer. Kellan, a fat lazy looking white dude with cave man facial hair wasn't helpful at all. I tried to upgrade my phone plan. But he wouldn't help me. I have contacted at&t customer support 2 days prior about setting up my own account from a family plan and was told I can go to any store to upgrade. Kellan was not helpful at all. He told me to call customer support which I already did. I got so frustrated that I just left. Atleast the people at North Gate Mall are nice and truely helpful. read more

We got a phone from here and when we try to activate through at&t they said the phone is refurbish and blacklisted and they advise us to go back to the store and return the phone. I like AT&T. I don't like this store. Most of all, stay away from Albert Poole. He will sell you all kinds of stuff you don't need. Worse, he will sell you stuff you never asked for. He will claim that his boss will penalize him if he doesn't sell all the extras, so just sign up for it and just cancel later so he gets the credit and you don't have to pay for it. I came in to shop for the new iPad Mini with retina display. He claimed that I could also get a wireless hotspot for "no extra charge". He brought out the only Mini he had, the most basic. I wanted the 128GB model. He claimed he didn't have any, nor did AT&T ANYWHERE, even if I had to drive a distance. So, taking his word for it, I bought the Mini and Hotspot device. Later that day, I had remorse and did some research and found that there were INDEED the 128GB models in existence, just 25 miles away at another AT&T corporate store. I went to that store and the most helpful salesperson there went over the transaction I had with Albert at the Southcenter Store. We found that I was going to pay a lot more for that hotspot device and was going to pay for insurance, something I declined and some "Beats" service, something I NEVER asked for. In the end, I got my 128GB iPad Mini with retina display, returned that hotspot device, got all the return fees waived and all the extra services I never asked for in the first place cancelled. He even went over, line by line, what my charges would be per month, what I should pay up front, and what other charges I would expect. There was no deviation from that, the bill had no surprises and he saved AT&T's integrity with me. Again, stay far away from the AT&T corporate store at Southcenter Mall, especially Albert and his boss. There's another review similar to this one (I should have read that one before I fell into this trap) and I can't believe that they're still there.
