I wrote a review for Roxanne and Renton Flower Shop earlier this year about how Roxanne went above and beyond to get my sister-in-law's favorite flowers (peonies) for her homecoming from the hospital after emergency heart surgery. I live in Hawai'i, but most of my family is in the Pacific NW, so finding businesses there that work with me during hard times is a gift. Roxanne has once again come through for me! This month my hanai Mom (Hawaiian for adopted Mom), passed away. I was able to get there to see her the day before she passed, and spend time with her. We set up her service for the following week. Everything was taken care of through the funeral home, but I forgot to get flowers for the reception and graveside service. In a panic, I called Roxanne that morning. She jumped on it right away and I was able to pick up a beautiful, fresh bouquet for Mom, that the rest of the family could enjoy for several weeks afterward. I got one picture of the arrangement, and it does not do it justice, but it was a lovely addition to the banquet table and fit in perfectly with the other arrangements. Color me impressed! I had a dinner reservation that I made for our anniversary 2 weeks earlier. Before ordering a dozen roses, I saw they had a standard for $90, or a deluxe for $140. I wondered what can be done to a dozen roses to add over 50% to the cost; so I inquired. I was told the deluxe comes with "more roses and prettier filler". So, OK, I bought the deluxe. Ordering was smooth; good communication and helpful. Then I saw a photo of the delivered product; it did not look like the picture on the website (namely different color roses and vase). Plus I did not notice more roses. Can't speak as to the filler, but it looked nothing like the picture on their website. I reached out to say: Hey, this is not what I ordered and paid for! You would think the response would be apologetic, right? Well not here; got a fairly snarky email, telling me that this particular color does not photograph as the color. Huh?? How can a color, just because of the color, photograph as a different color? It photographed just fine for the website... Bottom line is they are fine to deal with, until you are unhappy with something. Then customer service goes out the window. I think it's a little dishonest to sell me one color rose and deliver a different color. I also find their 'deluxe' dozen roses for a 50% up-charge more than a little sketchy. And when I emailed them, they ghost me. I always try to support independent local businesses, but I will never be using them again. P.S.: Oh, and if you leave them an accurate review, the owner leaves you an aggressive vm instead of offering you a refund. read more
