Pros: -Ron seems like a good guy at heart, he explained carpets to me & worked with me to get me a quote I felt good about. He's not out to intentionally screw you over. Cons: -Installer was late to scheduled quote appointment, I had to reschedule for later in the day, then installer got a flat tire (supposedly), but that's OK, it happens, no big deal. Ron then worked with me to give me a quote I felt good about, and I gave Ron a $200 deposit at his request. -Took a day off from work for the installation but installer never showed up. Texted Ron three (3) hours later, he was surprised to hear that his guy never showed, had no idea where his guy was, and responded "let me see where he's at?" -Never heard back from Ron obviously, texted him 45 minutes later to say I'm no longer comfortable doing business due to the complete lack of communication on his part. Ron then said I lack humanity because his employee "might be dead, so how would he communicate are you kidding me." Then immediately said "Your refund will be processed enjoy your day." -Over a week later, still no refund obviously. I reach out to Ron, and he says "we have 30 days to send a refund" but if I want it now I can have it. He then proceeds to send me only half of my deposit. -I then have to bug him AGAIN about sending me the rest of it, which he eventually does. FINALLY I AM FREE. Absolutely zero communication skills, and by zero I mean zero. Possibly the worst I've seen in a very long time. And when you get upset about it, he will say it's your fault. Would not recommend to anyone. Unfortunately i have had a terrible experience with them. I used their services to install new flooring at my house. Paid them close to $8k they came and installed the flooring and within 2 months had to call them back as the flooring was coming off multiple places. Fast forward to a year over and the flooring has been broken, come out in multiple places, when i contacted them they mentioned i am out of the 1 year labor warranty so they said they will send someone from manufacture to come and inspect. I have called Ronnie who is the partner at home carpet and flooring almost 100's of times and have not received any response. I am stuck with terrible flooring/installation and eventually will need to spend another 8 K but this time with someone who knows how to value the customer and do a proper job. read more

At Home Carpet and Flooring installed hardwood floors at my residence with flaws in May of 2024. I spoke to Ron/Matthew, who seemed to be generally sincere and was advised the flaws would be rectified. I was also advised by Ron, he was in receipt of the materials to repair the flaws and scheduled a date for the repairs for August 5, 2024, which was a no show. To date, 2/20/25 I have not heard back from Ron. I believe this to be in bad faith to the consumer. read more

This company is awesome. I had new kitchen floor, carpeting in 2 rooms, 2 landings & many steps up to 2nd floor installed. Ronny kept me up-tp-date on all aspects of my project. He was friendly & very concerned of delivery & installation of my project. David who came to do a free measurement of all rooms & steps estimate, was very friendly & was not aggressive in my ordering their products. The two men that laid the floor were polite, respectful and worked hard. A few days after they did my basement stairs and floor, the nose plates fell off the majority of the stairs. Repeated calls to the company. Ron always promised someone would be out the next day/that week/after Memorial Day etc. etc. NOTHING! Absolutely NOTHING! I don't know if it's because I am a woman or what, but the customer service is awful and Ron is not good at meeting the needs of his customers, which is too bad, because now they have this sucky review. read more

The salesperson assessed and measured my stairs for carpeting and my raw concrete basement which was uneven and had bumps in it. She said it was fine, but may need $300 worth of patching. I agreed, gave over a deposit. The floor was scheduled, and then the carpet was to follow. When the installers came, they said the floor was too uneven and the floor would look like crap. Then I called the owner, who said I had unreal expectations, which were given to me by their salesperson. No apologies, just defensiveness and shady practices. They said they would try to fix it with concrete, and then made an absolute mess. The owner went as far to say that one of the installers there didn't work for him and didn't know what he was talking about.... in that case, why send a stranger into my house? Though the floor was not done, the carpet guys came the next day and did not have enough material. I called the owner again and he said "we should be doing the floors first..." but I guarantee they would have done the carpet if they actually came prepared. We fired them. Never got our deposit back. The owner said "I'm sure your husband is a smart guy, but...." and then we practically hung up. Sick of shady business, and I genuinely hope people read this before they even consider throwing their money away. read more

You better hope there are no issues after the install!! We had vinyl plank flooring installed in our kitchen December 2020. It looked good, the guys were great and worked quickly. Soon after we had an issue where the plank were buckling. Ron sent out someone to fix the area. Since then we have 3 more areas where the floor is buckling and now the vinyl is peeing right off the planks. I started reaching out to Ron in June. Called the store and cell and texted. I finally got a call back the end of august. Ron said he thought he had scheduled an inspection 2 months ago. NOT TRUE!! He said he would schedule and call me back. 2 weeks later I called him and left a message. His brother called me and said he would schedule an inspection and would call me back in 10 minutes. Guess what? That was 22 days ago. I have called and texted every day since then without a single reply. I will continue to call until they schedule someone to look at the floor and get it fixed. FANTASTIC COMPANY - DON'T SHOP ANYWHERE ELSE! I had damage to my engineered hard wood flooring in several rooms of my home after a water leak. I had shopped at several flooring retail stores in my local area thinking the best thing to do was to work with a "local" company in my town in southern NJ. These local retailers had me so terribly confused because each store was telling me something different about how to repair and replace what was damaged and with what product (hardwood, laminate, vinyl plank)...some said I would need to tear up my entire floor on the first floor, hire a mover, move out all my furniture and belongings to a Pod or storage unit, and have to stay in a hotel while the repairs were being done. The cost estimates were all over the road map and very expensive. I was going in circles not knowing who to believe and trust, and what was the right thing to do. I then I contacted At Home Flooring based on a recommendation from a neighbor - I SHOULD HAVE ONLY CALLED THEM INITIALLY. I finally breathed a sigh of relief. Ron the owner and his sales team Gayle and Dave were more than FANTASTIC and so helpful in advising me. I immediately felt a trust with their recommendations. Ron worked diligently to get me samples for flooring from several manufacturers to try to match my existing flooring (we were only replacing several rooms where the floor was damaged.) They came up with a solution that did not require the entire house to be turned upside down, I didn't need to remove all my furniture and belongings, and I didn't need to move out of my home. The installers were the most meticulous, thorough, hard working, and extremely courteous men. They did a beautiful job and the flooring looks fantastic. I COULDN'T BE HAPPIER!!! read more

Ron was easy to work with and had someone come out right away to give us our estimate, which we thought was a great price for the work being done. Also they were able to accommodate our tight schedule for our kitchen remodel. When Roberto and his team came out to actually start on the sanding, they were both was extremely polite and easy to work with, not to mention they left our house extremely clean! We had flooring installed in my mother's kitchen which included Luan, cove base, bull ware, etc. We paid $1865.93 and the job was completed at the end of April 2022. Within a month the cove base has come completely undone and is on the floor. This type of work is shoddy and inexcusable. I took a chance on this company and all in all, I'm very happy. The only reason it's not 5 stars is simply because of a communication issue. I dealt with Ron the whole time and he could've easily have been rude, or arrogant as others have mentioned, but he was nice, polite, and apologetic for the minor communication issue. I think his issues are that he is a small business but takes on a lot of work so people may have to wait a bit longer for their installation. But from the start of signing the contract to installation was 10 days, and his guys did a great job. Oh, and I shopped around for the same exact carpet and he was the cheapest by quite a bit. David explained everything to me and Ronnie worked with me by call and text through the process. He promised my floor would be installed by Easter and he delivered! At Home Carpet's carpenters were considerate, professional and cleaned up after themselves. They also explained needs and issues my floor had with me in a concise and clear manner. I got an appointment within 2 days and a gentleman came by the house to give us a quote and show samples. After viewing a few samples we settled on the Cor Tek 100% water proof flooring at a reasonable price. We had them installed within a week. 2 men came and did the install in about 5 1/2 hours. Amazing! At Home Carpet & Flooring did a phenomenal job! It started with a visit from Gayle to access our basement and provide samples/options. She was very friendly and personable. We spoke with Ron and he gave us an install date which was a week and a half after Gayle's visit. Ron was very helpful and kept in contact throughout the entire process. I was impressed on how quickly the whole process was. Two guys showed up and began the install. Within 3 hours, the job was complete. They did an amazing job and the floors look incredible! We previously had porcelain tile and they installed the new flooring right over it. The basement feels so warm and inviting now which is also safe for our 2 year old son. after reading numerous poor reviews about this company, the owner insisted they were untrue, so I going to give them a chance. Here's my experience. I asked the owner to be sure the fellow Who is coming to give me an estimate, text me when he arrives, and to please pull into the driveway. I was told that the fella would arrive at 1:55 and just please be ready for him. I waited with my garage door open at 1:55. At 2:30, I called the owner and had to leave a message that he still ha not arrived, and I was not going to wait any longer. The owner called me back and said, he's there, in the front of the house! The fella did get the message and apologized, OK not a problem. after discussing and measuring and calling the main office numerous times, without a response, the fellow went out to his car to get samples to show me. I asked him to please put a mask on which he did and we walked up a flight of steps to my kitchen. One step away from the kitchen, this person said he forgot something, he'll be right back. I waited about five minutes with the door open, and realized he drove off! I waited and waited and finally called the owner. "I have no idea where he went, but please tell him not to come back". I heard nothing else and finally late in the evening I sent a message to the owner asking, what the hell happened? His response was, his daughter fell. that was it, that was the whole response!! Don't you think if somebody's child got hurt the message would get to the customer as soon as possible, that there was an emergency, and that they're terribly sorry? There isn't a person on the planet that would not understand if someone's child got hurt!! Of course you drop what you're doing and get to that child! But this fella wasnt even looking at a phone! DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY. Its an absolute scam. I hired them to install carpet on my stairs and gave them a deposit. I attempted to schedule them to come complete the work a few times and finally once I was able to confirm a date, I informed the gentleman that I would be staying home from work and needed to ensure they would complete the work on that day. When the day comes, no one shows up and I don't get a call until 5pm to let me know that "Oh i feel really bad the carpet never showed up so we couldn't come install it today". I called immediately to get my deposit back. After 2 weeks, I still have not received my deposit back. I've called 3 times to check on the status and have only received excuses such as "the boss needs to sign the check" and "I already sent it" which are complete lies. I still have not received my deposit. Do not hire this company if you want a credible contractor. read more

Gayle showed up 30 minutes earlier then our appointment and waited in the parking lot for our scheduled appointment time.Gayle was wearing a mask,very polite and came full of floor samples. She explained the different floorings to me and helped me pick out a flooring to match my decor . She also thoroughly explained the installation process.The estimate she and Ron gave me was great. It beat all my other estimates. Let me preface my review by saying I have used this company for my last 3 homes with no issues and fair pricing. I just bought a new home and wanted to replace the carpeting in the upstairs. We arranged for the realtor to let us in as we didn't have our closing yet so that we could get an estimate. The company representative showed up over an hour late. She took measurements and gave us an estimate that was literally $1,000 more then the competition for the exact same carpet and pad. He told me he was "just about to call me" and that his salesperson was on their way and stuck in traffic on the local highway around the corner from our house. The wrong tile was delivered, the company wont take it back, they wont install if we go chasing out to Home Depot to buy this very ordinary tile ourselves and so we are left with 8 boxes of vinyl tile to cover 140 sq ' and $100 deposit lost and no floor being done. I found this company on Angie's List . The manager was very rude and disputed everything being said even when he got the poor rep who had sold us the flooring, on the phone. We had originally purchased flooring from a big box store for our basement renovation, but were then told that there would be major delays with our installation, which would really delay our renovation project, and that our project requires much more floor prep than anticipated. Frustrated, we filled out a request form on Home Advisor and Ronnie (the owner) from At Home Carpet and Flooring called within minutes. When I explained our time crunch he scheduled a sales person to be at our house in less than two hours. The sales person David, was honest and clear about our flooring situation and between he and Ronnie, they both explained what we would need to have our flooring installed properly. Ronnie even moved our installation date up at our contractors request to make sure we stayed on target with our renovation. We had old ceramic tile that needed to be removed and the floor needed some leveling. Our floors were prepped and installed in less than a week and the work was done quickly and neatly and looks great. The price was fair and comparable to what we would have paid elsewhere and I was happy to work with someone local. Ronnie was responsive to my calls and texts whenever I had a question. DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY Extremely poor installation once you have a day to look and walk on the stairs. Day of install it looked good because we went from really old carpet to new vinyl floors which made us not look at the actual job and just the new look in the house. Extremely poor customer attention. When the owner was contacted the next day about the issues it took 4+ months to have someone come out to fix. I received every excuse in the book on why someone wasn't able to come out to fix the problems. I let them know they should not start a new project until the issues with the last project were corrected. That's just a normal good business practice that this company does not do. Even after they came out and saw the issues they only fixed a few and left 4 steps with half boards. Owner accused me of physically assaulting the installer. I did not but did tell him to get the f out of my house after he refused to complete the fix or call the owner. Owner then called me verbally abusing me saying I'm 100 pounds overweight and can't even walk up stairs and then said "I know where you live". The MOST absolutely atrocious level of customer service I have EVER received. I hope that this review can be helpful to someone who is considering giving this company their business. As a business owner, myself, to say that I am truly shocked at this company's level of customer service would be an understatement. I recently used At Home's services for a flooring installation project at my place of business. The flooring was installed in two offices and one bathroom. At the recommendation of the installation team, the toilet was removed to install the flooring. However, the toilet was not reinstalled properly; it was simply glued to the floor rather than bolted. We noticed this issue when we began to smell sewage from the base of the toilet, and later noticed a good amount of water seeping out of the base of the toilet. We called the company, who agreed to come back to reset the toilet, which they did. A few days later, we noticed more water leaking from the base of the toilet. We called the owner again in an attempt to remedy the situation for good, which the owner refused to do, stating that "they are not plumbers," and should therefore, not be liable to fix the problem that the installation team created. The owner also made insulting comments about my business, including asking if "things are so tough over there at your business that you're too cheap to hire a plumber," and stating that my business should "stop being so cheap and hire a plumber." He also implied that I was lying about the installation of the toilet, stating that he believed that I had actually installed it myself (obviously not the case). This language is obviously completely inappropriate towards anyone, let alone a customer. I now have a leaking toilet that was not previously leaking. I am now responsible for paying for it to be fixed. I would never recommend this company to anyone. read more

I, too, had an experience with Ron (Ronnie) the owner of At Home Carpet. Simply put, whatever everyone says about him must be true and I wouldn't let him install carpet/flooring if it was free.
