From the initial visit for our estimate Igor gave us suggestions and knew exactly what kind of style I wanted from our conversations. His crew came in ripped up our old carpets , demoed tile, sanded down the old hardwood floors and installed new beautiful hardwood flooring throughout our first floor. Once the job was completed, Igor advised us how to proceed for the next couple of days for the best outcome. When the day came and the job was completed, we noticed a small issue and reached out to igor, he had his guys back out to our house an hour after I reached out to him! The absolute The absolute worst! They cancel our appointment for repairs 15 minutes into the appointment time. Then send one guy out three days later and he's over an hour late. Had two floors fixed and ended up with one completely unlevel and the other buckled entirely a few days later and we had to remove the new flooring pieces. Top that off with not being able to check one room because it was drying and also discover paint ripped off the ceiling from poorly taped plastic sheets which also ran across the ceiling light fixture and wood stain all over the 1/4 round moldings. Polyurethane uneven on the floor and marks all over the walls. They also put a threshold down that they forgot about and had to run to Home Depot in the middle of the job and get Igor on the phone where he makes us promise to add $32.00 to the payment and it's covered in tape at the end of the day and we realize it's not even the correct threshold and doesn't match anything in our house and it's way too high and the wrong color. I'm tripping over it. We purchased a new correct one ourselves days later also at Home Depot. We never saw so much dust left behind as well as red caulk which tracked everywhere and the worker Alex's black boot prints. He parked in our driveway but who knew that he'd lay all his equipment down on our grass which left a nice big yellow area and he spilled polyurethane in our driveway which is still there. It was cloudy, it was late and we're trying to get dinner on the table... So the next morning we stopped payment on our check (ate the deposit) after reading other reviews saying that Igor doesn't come back to fix things that aren't right and then we contacted Modifloors to fix the issues. Got some bogus threat about them being protected by NJ laws regarding the check and then was asked for pictures when I said the work wasn't up to satisfaction. We sent the pictures right away and they never responded. Sent a certified letter. No plans to rectify anything. Never heard from Igor although Isabelle kept promising he'd call before she stopped responding. We spent the weekend spending several hundred dollars to paint the room ourselves and the floors still need to be repaired. Don't hire these shoddy workers. as promised, I am the 21st review here. called to get some hardwood floors refinished and some vinyl flooring in the kitchen. their marketing pitch is good and their flooring comes in a "package" of standard, premium, and elite, which makes it easier to think about compared to other companies formats. everyone seemed to work hard and communicated, and I appreciate everyones hard work and think they generally tried to do an above average job for my unit as I had some specific requests. ultimately, I am generally happy with the work, but you might want to be careful picking the wood stain color (as with wall paint colors. It is a lot of work :)). I got golden oak, but not sure if I love it. maybe should have gone with the golden pecan. also, be aware though that the existing molding will likely get scratched and you might have to repaint it/touch it up. But thanks, we like the flooring and will consider Modi again for future floor projects read more

Modi Floor's team did an exceptional job in my house. From the start, they were responsive and professional. Fernanda came the day after I submitted a quote request for a site visit and provided a very reasonable estimate. The project involved leveling a concrete slab and installing engineered hardwood in a herringbone pattern, not an easy task. But the crew--Fabian, Carlos, and Eduardo--were amazing. They were highly professional and did an outstanding job. They were also very patient and accommodating with all my requests. Where are the 0 or negative star ratings?! Terrible experience! I hired Modi to remove ceramic tiles and install Luxury Vinyl Planks in my bathroom. After his solo worker finished the install, I paid in full by check and immediately told Igor that the floor felt like a trampoline in a fun house, many hollow spots in the floor as you walked on it. Modi had installed right over the uneven concrete floor. Igor said to wait a week and the floor would 'self level' - when it didn't level out, Igor assured me not to worry as there was a 'warranty' on the floor. and that all i had to do was to pay for the leveling material and he would 'make it right'. Well his charge for the leveling material was equal to the full original charge for the job which was outrageous! He should have leveled the floor before putting in the lvp. I don't trust his word or his workmanship. I was now out the cost to remove his shoddy work, and the cost of the replacement lvps and re-installation. My advice is not to pay him until you are satisfied with the job or pay by credit card so you have some recourse as this is your only real protection against his unprofessional workmanship. I bought a new house and the first floor floors were old, not in great condition and the second-floor had no floor underneath the rug. They installed new flooring on the second floor and sanded and finished the first and second floors including the stairs. They were very professional and they stuck to their timeframe. My general contractor did an awful job sanding and staining our hard wood floors. Based on a high recommendation, I called Igor and not only did he respond immediately, but he and his team were able to resand & restain my hallway and bedrooms within a day and a half, which was earlier than he initially estimated. We told him we had a few separations and cracking issues and despite calling he never came back to address them. I wish we could give it more stars, but while the stain is the perfect color it wasn't worth the price we paid. They didnt come back to correct the issues. We feel duped. read more

Based on the rating of this company I was expecting impeccable work but that was not the case. I'm not sure of the work quality of the head person Igor as he did not perform the work in my home, but his workers are careless. I hired a professional company who's licensed and insured to avoid slammers and to have people who were going to be careful, not for my home to be damaged in the process. Igor workers left dents, grease marks, and scuff marks on my newly painted walls (way above where they work takes place) due to careless swinging around supplies while in my home. Igor did state touch up would be needed to the baseboards and shoe molding, but the marks, dents, and grease marks left by his team were unacceptable. When asked why his workers don't wear gloves to avoid these issues his response was "because were not required to". There were noticeable gaps in the vinyl placement from the radiators while in other places the vinyl lined up perfectly with the radiators. Igor reasoning is the vinyl must be a certain distance from the radiator which contradicts the other parts of the vinyl are lined up with the radiator. Igor charged my husband and I an additional $400 for shoe molding that was poorly placed and cut. The pieces look slapped together from old pieces of shoe molding left over from previous jobs. The company also does not fill the gaps or cut made, Igor states that is the painter's job. So $300 for butchered, slopped together shoe molding because he offered an $100 credit. Now on to the first floor where I had my floors sanded and stained. There is about a 3-to-4-inch gap in my flooring. When asked about why the gap is in the floor and not filled with wood filler after the floors have been at this time sanded and stained, Igor replied that there was wood filler in the floor. NO solution to fix the problem. I now have a noticeable eye soar in my floor. Do yourself a favor and pay a little more money for someone who is going to do the job correctly, address his customers concerns, and not have an excuse or reason for every issue to avoid accountability. read more
