The install was not without delays due to unsatisfactory cable service and unexpected home repairs. This all thru off the install. Joe's work entirely satisfactory. Some have been great but have also come with a ridiculously high price point while others have been down right horrible and didn't know much other than mounting TVs. In this business its hard to find someone with good balance of quality work and a decent price point. Well enter Joe and CAV installations! I happenstance stumbled upon his yelp page which was buried 5 pages deep because most other installers were flaking out on me and am glad I did!! For Joe this is not just a business but also a passion. He literally can talk about the advancements in Audio/Video and home theater all day long which he did with me even though it was nearly 7pm on a Monday night. The thing that I was most impressed with was the fact that he is a perfectionist and if something didn't look or sound right to him he would make sure it did. He has an eye and ear that is more fine tuned for this than we consumers do and he'll let you know it if it isn't right even though we may think it is. He even went as far as calibrating the projector to THX certs on his Ipad for free!! He charged me for 2 hours labor even though he was here for well over 3 hours! I apologize for the long review but Joe deserves an in depth review because he indeed is a diamond in the rough. If you want an installer who knows his craft to perfection, a colossal professional, timely work and at a great, affordable price point give Joe a call. I doubt you'll be disappointed!     Don't ever do business with Vivint. I had there system at my home, and all was good until we…read moremoved. They say they provide free moving of the equipment, but when I called to have my equipment moved, they tried to charge me. After going up the line, I finally got them to agree they are supposed to move me for free. Then they set up an appointment for an installer, and so I set aside a Saturday. Five minutes before he was due to show up, I received a call that he would not be coming that day, and I would need a new appointment, which would be a month later. When the new installer came, after spending an hour or two at the house trying to install my equipment, he told me he could not get the equipment to work since Vivint had upgraded their software and the software was not backwards compatible. I then had to deal with Vivint directly to address the issue. They told me I had to buy all new equipment, and I made it abundantly that they needed to provide whatever new equipment I needed for free, and they refused, so I told them we were done, and I thought that was the end of it. Today, 3 months later, I got a Vivint charge on my credit card. I called to get it removed, and they told me I was still a customer and I had to start paying the monthly charges until the end of my contract. That was of course unacceptable and so I got bounced to their loyalty department. I went in circles with this person telling her to cancel the account, and she kept trying to sell me their equipment and service, even after I told her I had contracted with another alarm company. She said she understood this and then just kept trying to sell me new equipment and service. Finally, I got it through her head that I wanted the account canceled, and then she sprung on me that I am going to be charged a cancellation fee. So now I had to deal with her supervisor since there was no way I was going to pay a cancellation fee. Now the supervisor offered me all new equipment and a big reduction in my monthly payment, which obviously is what they should have done 3 months ago. When I told him it was too little too late since I had already contracted with another company, he finally gave up trying to sell me and said he would cancel the account. The he said the cancellation process would take 30 days so I would be charged with one more month of service. These people don't give up trying to take money for service that they can't provide. Finally when I blew up again telling him there's no way I'm paying for this, he finally backed off. Time will tell if they got me cancelled and if the money they charged me today is credited back to my credit card. Bottom line, stay away from Vivint. They are horrible to deal with, and they are money grubbers.

    I have bought and had installed 4 TV's from these guys since 2013. Every one has been delivered as…read morepromised and professionally installed. 2 days ago ( Sunday night) our 12 year old TV went blank ( original cost less than $200). I called them on Monday to discuss my options regarding size, the wall mount and brand. We were not sure the old mount would fit so they agreed to bring a new mount with them "just in case". The new TV was delivered on Tuesday before noon and installed within 15 minutes. The old mount worked just fine. The two young men who did the installed were patient and professional. They installed the unit and insured everything was working before leaving. This place is a class act.

    I'm tired of people accusing Flint of the whole "nude photos" thing when ALL charges were dropped…read morein the end, with the judge essentially calling those charges ridiculous and entirely unsupported. People flamed Flint for accusations without due process. That's not what America and our Constitution is about. Those accusations turned out to be essentially baseless, yet none of the flame throwing reviewers on here bothered to update their reviews That says a lot more about those people than it says about Flint. I've been doing business with them for decades, beginning with Gary in 1992. (They know me by my real name, first name is Bob.) Are they perfect? No. Then again, who or what is? My only real complaint is that they're not very open to accepting returns on products that simply don't work from the factory. There is always some fallout rate with any product; smart and knowledgeable customers with engineering degrees who've spent hours deeply troubleshooting the problem shouldn't be blamed for that. Regardless of that, I continue to highly recommend Flint and generally enjoy doing business with the Gagnes (both Gary and his son, Sean, who acquired the business with a partner in January '24). Summarily, disregard EVERY review on here that centers around charges that were subsequently dropped in their entirety before any trial even began.

    Run, don't walk, away from National Security! Seriously. This is one of the worst companies I've…read moreever dealt with in my life. I have a very long list of National's ineptitude, incompetence, and lack of professionalism. We hired National to upgrade our fire security system to be in compliance with RI state's fire safety standards for a Bed & Breakfast. After months of frustration trying to get this company to actually start the job we had hired them to do, it got worse once the work began. I fully own that I should've taken their original ineptitude as a sign not to work with them. I am deeply regretting my choice to hire National. Here's my list of grievances with National: 1. Sales/account manager, Ryan, would not respond to my emails, texts & phone calls. I literally had to reach out through various methods at least 10 times before receiving a response. 2. At times I had to tell Ryan how to do his job based on information I was given by the former fire marshal of Newport who we hired as a consultant to go in front of the RI state fire board and help us with the upgrade. There were basic standards of operation that Ryan didn't seem to know or understand which I (not being a fire security professional) had to figure out and educate him, the "professional", I had hired what the standard procedure was. 3. The technicians who installed the upgraded system left behind trash, a large box of wiring in the middle of my staircase, and giant holes in my walls where the old key panels had been replaced by new smaller panels. 4. THE BIGGEST & WORST ISSUE with National - THE SYSTEM THEY INSTALLED HAS FAILED FIRE SAFETY INSPECTION TWICE NOW!!! The Fire Marshall who came to inspect the system literally pulled me aside and told me he'd never seen a company this inept. He strongly encouraged me to get rid of them and hire a different fire security company. 5. As of today, 12/2/19, 3 months after beginning what should've been a very straight forward fire security upgrade, National's system still has not passed inspection and they have disappeared once again. National is not responding to our emails and phone calls. 6. Sadly, Chris, the owner of National has no capacity to take responsibility for the mistakes and mishaps of his employees. When I finally got on the phone with Chris to discuss all the issues I'd had from the beginning of the upgrade, he began telling me how upset he was, how the failure of his system was my fault, and I was a terrible customer! I was so shocked and taken aback that I lost my temper and yelled at him. It was not one of my finer moments and there are things I said that I regret. However, the facts still remain that this company has failed us as customers over and over and over again. This was a $6000 investment. National has done nothing to make amends for their failures and incompetence except to blame us. This has truly been one of the worst experiences with a professional company I've ever had. Please let my experience guide you away from the pain & frustration we've had to endure in choosing to work with National.
