For the most part I hate Garden Ridge, but I still do some limited shopping there. The place feels like a discount store without the bargain prices. In terms of customer service and quality of goods, it's one of the worst places to shop in Katy. On a positive note, they have a large selection of Christmas tree ornaments, artificial Christmas trees, inflatable holiday decorations, Mexican pottery, acrylic serving dishes for outdoor use, and decorative indoor trees. I must confess that I love the life-size metal knights. I wish I could find a place in my house for one. If I were still in college, one would be in my apartment with a beer in hand. Maybe one of my boys would eventually like a knight for his room, sans the beer of course. My least favorites of their products are the linens, rugs, and furniture. They are poorly made junk. Their sections of art and accessories are largely hit and miss, mostly miss. Look for slight damage to the items you purchase. It's worth noting that many of the holiday items can be found at Hobby Lobby, where you'll get better quality, lower prices, excellent sales even before the holidays, 40% off coupons, friendly employees, and a better return policy. I have also seen many of the same accessory items at Kirklands and Home Goods, and they have better return policies should something go wrong. There are few employees working the floor, and those who are avoid customer interaction. The cashiers function like robots, unable to answer questions unless previously programmed with responses. Their draconian return policy prevents me from making "iffy" purchases, which is sometimes necessary when decorating. You must have your receipt for exchange or return, even if you purchased the item an hour ago using your credit card, still have the credit card slip, and go back to the same cashier. Even when I presented the receipt to exchange a Christmas tree, they almost didn't take it back because a slip of paper was missing from the interior of the box. I never even opened the box! I was exchanging it for a taller tree, and had bought the first tree earlier that day. After almost an hour of hassling me and analyzing every inch of the box and the tree, I was finally able to make the exchange. Their return policy is worse than Target's, and that's really saying something. I buy from Garden Ridge ONLY when I can't find it elsewhere, and even then, I don't enjoy it. read more

This is not your run of the mill Garden Ridge. It's more like a bargain center of everything and anything. This Garden Ridge does not contain any of the hobby or craft like things seen at other Garden Ridges. So if you were looking for fabric, scrap-booking essentials or crafting kits then you might as well do a u-turn because they have none of that here. So why the four stars you say? Well this place has a large selection of furniture and furniture accessories (bedroom headboards, lamps, dining tables, side table and everything in between). They had leather (or leather like) headboards for $199 and sofas for $399. Whhhhaattt??? Now these aren't the greatest crafted pieces of furniture, but for that price it can't be beat. They also have random odds and end things such as clothes, purses and books. The books were very cheap and they had such a large selection from cookbooks, fictional books, best sellers, and children's books. They ranged from $1.49 to $4.99 for the hard bound ones. So if you are looking for a bargain look no further than this clearance center Garden Ridge. Your pocket book will thank you. read more

Worst return policy ever? Maybe not, but it is pretty bad. Don't lose your receipt - even if you walk out of the store, turn around and come back inside without leaving the parking lot, good luck on returning or exchanging items. Garden Ridge is a stickler for policy. So what? Well, return policy is important to me in my shopping experience. The "no hassle" return policy of Walmart has me coming back, even if some of their products are crap. It helps me return the absolute crap in exchange for more reasonable crap I can use. Not so at Garden Ridge. If you inadvertently buy crap, you're stuck with crap. "Caveat Emptor" Otherwise, often you can find reasonable crap at reasonable prices. Just be sure of your purchase before you buy. read more

Definitely not one of the better Garden Ridges I've been to. Everything is pretty much scattered about in this make-shift warehouse full of decorations. The decorations themselves are rather beautiful and cute, but they're not really organized at all. The store is also kind of dirty. I love this store! You can seriously find anything for your home here. I love to buy my Christmas decorations at Gardenridge, they have so many different kinds. I also buy my candles and oils from them. If you need outdoor/indoor furniture, mirrors, dishes, party supplies, art, anything at all! Visit this store. Is it high-end designer furniture/decor/outdoor/pillows/bedspreads? Absolutely not. Can you finally afford to redecorate the entire house on a budget? Absolutely! Rumor has it that this place is amazing if you like Christmas decor. And by 'rumor' I mean my coworker swears that this is the place to go if nutcracker market prices turn you into a grinch. I haven't been during the holidays, but after seeing the shear size of the place and how many empty 'seasonal' aisle there are, I have no doubt that she's spot on with her recommendation. So easy to become overwhelmed in this place. There's soooo much stuff. I feel like the prices are so-so. I managed to find 2 beautiful pictures for my living room for $80 a piece. I felt like it was a fair deals seeing how similar pictures on Wayfair were $400 each. They try to push for their store credit card, don't do it. No, thanks! The interest rates are ridiculous. I've only been here twice and the first time I went I bought a coffee canister set and it was so $25-39, but cheaply made. Garden Ridge is now called At Home. They have tons of home decor and other random items to buy. I'm pretty random so I like coming here to look at everything. The shopping carts are much nicer since they changed to At Home from Garden Ridge. I think the stores could be kept better and not so messy. It was very crazy and scattered items everywhere during December. They had a bunch of stuff marked down like gift wrap and books for Christmas. read more

Pros: huge stock. You can find anything under the sun, at great prices Cons: this place is under staffed. Prepare to wait in line to pay. The manager is the manager he does not lower himself to man a register if the line is huge. He will limit himself to supervise while the customer waits in line. Some items are not properly labeled. On top of the lack of staff, one cashier will have to stop assisting customers to go check the price. In the parking lot, watchout for the carts overflowing the corral. Leaving a review for the manager there. The red headed older manager that was beyond rude yelling at her cashiers in front of customers. Learn to speak to your employees. Our cashier was literally juggling checking us out, getting someone to assist this other woman needing help and trying to get assistance on the walkie. The lady yelled at the cashier for using her walkie. This was beyond ridiculous. I commend the cashier for keeping a positive attitude and still providing us with a good experience. Good store I suppose for looking but can't actually buy things. Two people in line, I being one of two. Young girl in register two was working. Girl in register 3 was goofing off and laughing with the supervisor both looking at me but not offering to check out my things. Again two people wanting to check out one getting help. Someone else another supervisor? Walked up and that is when I was signaled to checkout. A good 5 minute wait that should not have happened. But then she didn't know how to scan the wall decor in my basket. She pulled out a phone and then asked me how to find it on her phone (I don't work there). Another long wait and she asks another supervisor (3rd one) and she starts looking on her phone. She then gives up and walks away, which was the signal to leave as well. The management for this company is very inconsiderate. Was in the store last month and was accused of stealing after purchasing a runner rug which was mistagged by their staff. When we were the ones that brought to their attention and the sale had been finalized.When we contacted corporate offices by phone and email we were never contacted back after two reattempts by us. We did find four definite Holiday must haves and got ready to wait in line... until we noticed it stretched down the row and curved around like we were going to get on a roller coaster or something. This was the letter I sent to the district office. : I went into the At Home store at 19411 Atrium Pl, Houston, TX 77094 and was amazed at the lack of care put into order and cleanness of store. There were many aisle that I could't even walk down because there was stock thrown in floors on at least 5 different rows. There was not one corner of the entire building that I saw that wasn't piled up to my waist with stuff just thrown in corner. I have been a fan of Garden Ridge for years and now At Home... But I don't know if I will ever be back to this store. I even stopped on the way out and asked a manger looking person if there was still a big transition over to explain the absolute mess and she said that there wasn't much change except for signs... i mentioned the mess and the workers that were "cleaning up" the frames by throwing them in big piles and she said... "Oh well we are in transition, but it normally looks like this." I felt the need to share this with someone, hoping that there is an improvement so I might be able to shop there. Reviews are a funny thing as experience is varied and subjective. I've been here a few times. Do not go expecting amazing customer service or high end displays. This is a huge store with incredible inventory. If you are like me and often shop at Home Goods, you'll find the experience familiar but times a hundred. I go when I need to find a particular item I haven't been able to find elsewhere. To me, you pay for what you get. They have affordable prices and a huge selection. Items may be slightly damaged or not of highest quality but I'm not looking for perfection when I go here. I'm always happy to find things that I needed (and more). Love how areas are color coordinated so when I go looking for a green pillow I know exactly where to look. It can be disheveled but that's on the patrons also to not dump crap out of laziness. I enjoy shopping here but of course I can't give it 5 stars because it's not a 5 star experience. It's decent and fits the bill often for me! read more

Terrible customer service. I bought two cheap Christmas trees and they turned out to be blacl. My mistake. My wife tried to exchange them, not trying to get money back and they would not do it without the origisnl reciept. WalMart would have exchanged for the same item! This place has a lot of just about everything. It's a huge warehouse full of home decor items. If you are moving, have recently moved, or are redecorating, this could be the place for your. Fair warning - it does not carry high or even higher end items. Most of the selection I saw is at bargain prices. Therefore, the quality is somewhat lower but still good. I'd recommend it for first-time moves where just about everything is needed from paper towel holders to drawer organizers. You will need a large vehicle to transport big items because the delivery they offer is very expensive. I asked an employee about it and it would be cheaper to rent a U-haul than to have them deliver your items! Although the store is well-organized, it can be a bit overwhelming. If you see something that catches your eye, buy it. Save the receipt to make a return if necessary because there's no guarantee it will be in-stock on a future visit. read more

I called this location looking for information about some new furniture and the other locations just simply would not answer the phone at all. Luckily the Katy location is on top their game and very prompt answering and showing concern about my questions so that I did not waste time driving there for no reason. Cassandra was an awesome, courteous and knowledgeable Rep that I almost decided to drive an extra 40 mins or so to make sure I spent my money with this specific location.
