Now some items are priced higher than other places, but they are top quality. I was shopping for a rug for my patio and I found an item that matched my color scheme but I decided to look around at other items and when I returned to my choice a few minutes later, it was gone just that quick! Over the years I have spent a lot of money at the At Home in Katy, Texas. But I recently had a terrible experience there and so I will never go back. A few days ago I purchased a large ceramic rabbit at this store to place in an assisted living. It cost 100 dollars. When I got home from the store, I picked the rabbit up by its head and the head broke off. I went back to the store and spoke with the store manager who told me her name was Debbie. I asked if they would replace the rabbit or at least give me a discount on a new one. Debbie told me "too bad so sad". She said there was nothing they could do to help me out. Debbie was so hostile and rude to me. I told Debbie that I have been a customer of At-Home for years and have spent a lot of money there. She told me "that's too bad." It's no wonder At-home had to file for bankruptcy last year when they have managers that are rude and not the least bit customer friendly. I still am shocked out how rude Debbie was to me. read more

Huge! Lots of home decor, seasonal items and home decorative Knick knacks. Evidently dogs are allowed to shop here too. They have an extensive wall art section of all kinds of styles in every size imaginable. Parking is easy and plentiful. Prices are reasonable. I bought those closet scent sachets they used to sell at BBB for cheaper than mail order. They had more scents than I knew existed. It kinda reminds me of the old "Garden Ridge" store which I loved and miss. This will do nicely. read more

Popped into At Home after doing elite week at Latin Express. Went in for a Fall wreath and walked out with a wreath, yard stakes and a rug! I was happy to find they still had Fall items on stock. Typically it's already all Christmas and no autumn decorations in the store by this time of year which is always super frustrating and annoying. I was also happy to have only spent $88! It's so easy to spend a couple hundred dollars at this store. The checkout process was easy and cashier friendly. This is my neighborhood At Home store. It's convenient for me and I can spend hours in this store. I often visit the one in Richmond too because I've found the inventory is different at each store. This location is located right off north side of Katy freeway feeder/service drive. It has a super huge parking lot, so no worries finding a parking space ever. The inventory had some slow points during pandemic, but so much better now. I love all of the themed home decor. Like right now you'll find various coastal decor, farmhouse and they recently got in quite a few cute gnomes for garden. Now the line. The line is often long and seems there's never enough cashiers. Especially during the weekend! Be prepared to find something to do to pass time if you happen to get stuck in the line. read more

This is a LOVE-HATE relationship! The love: First of all, I love the selection here. They seem to have everything, and at decent prices. I can just browse and browse...mirrors, paintings, furniture, art, outdoor items, decor, rugs, greenery, etc etc. Prices: very reasonable. The hate: we were looking for an item we couldn't find anywhere, and FOUND It here on their website. We then drive 20 minutes to the store to get the item, and couldn't find it. So, I ask an employee where it is in the store, and I am told that they don't have that type of inventory system. What???? This is 2018 and a store employee can't find something, even if I have a SKU number from their website. Not believing this, I ask another employee, and I am told the same thing. I never saw this many people at this store before except maybe at Christmas time. They have just reopened and while the layout may have changed, the items they sell are the same. They already have their Christmas decorations out as well as Halloween. And while it is a tad cleaner and there's no water falling from holes in the ceiling, I did step in some gum that a shopper was just too trashy to pick up after it fell out of their mouth. Sometimes it isn't the store's fault. They need to hire more people. Apparently the new face is making everyone want to shop here. The carts are scattered throughout the parking lot with only one guy assigned to bring them in. The biggest positive change, other than the inside no longer feeling like a haunted house, is the parking lot. It's nice, new blacktop with 2 entrances on the feeder road rather than the older gravely cement with pot holes that could devour a small child. So congrats At Home, you look much nicer and maybe it will stay that way when the "new" wears off. read more

When questioning the manager, Ralph, stated yes they are mislabeled and yes the advertised pricing is incorrect but your price is the higher price. While explaining and showing a picture of the rug to be purchased, Ralph interjected to ask rudely " what is it that you want?" my wife said "we don't anything" and handed the rug back. Mistakes happen, but don't admit I am right and then rudely treat me like I am not there to pay you for a product. Customers aren't always right, but neither are managers, such as, Ralph. At Home is one of the most disappointing box stores I have visited. There is absolutely nothing I would want from this store in my home. Many of the furniture pieces are dated and generic. Moreover, At Home's prices are excessive, which came as a surprise thinking the store offered deep discounts on their merchandise. We roamed the store and searched eBay, comparing prices on a number of items and they were exponentially lower online. If you are looking for decent furniture and items for the home (small or large) definitely consider IKEA as an alternative. It's a bargain shopper's dream, that's for sure. I mean, it's the rebirth of Garden Pottery, so I give it at least 4 stars for that. On this visit though, they failed to impress me with aisles that weren't clear, I don't recall seeing a store rep on the floor, and the most horrible restroom I've ever encountered (see pic). Maybe It's because I visited the store at 5pm on a weekday, but I can't agree with many of the reviews I read of this place. This is like the Home Depot for beautiful decoration pieces. I was greeted upon entrance, the store was pristine and very organized. The signs on top of each aisle make it very easy to find what you're looking for. They have a huge selection of all things home decor, from floor pillows, to throws, to wall decor, to seasonal items. Their Halloween and Christmas sections were beyond adorable, and their selection of these items is way bigger than Home Goods, another place where I love shopping. Even their restroom was spotless, which was another nice surprise to me. My only complain is that their prices for certain things are just absurd, and their clearance section only has broken items, not from past seasons like other stores have. A medium sized piece of wall art with literally 3 different colors was like $130+. I'm not going to pay that for a single frame, but that's me. Different people are willing to spend their money in different ways. Also, I wish they had more options for bed covers and bet sheets. Other than that, it's a great store! read more

Went Christmas shopping today to get ahead of the crowds. We needed a flat cart to carry our tree. So we had the flat cart loaded up with our tree and about $300 worth of additional merch. Trying to keep the flat cart out of other shoppers way, we would leave it on the end cap each time we went down an aisle. Well the last time we did this an employee of At Home had taken our cart, threw all of our items on a shelf and grabbed the cart and walked away. I chased him down and told him I needed my cart back. Little smartass said he needed it so he grabbed it since it was abandoned. Very rude to say the least. Well I mentioned this to a cashier and she just laughed and told me the manager was busy. I've been here 3 times now since moving into my new home. I've purchased a small rug for a powder bath and some great decorative items, particularly for my mantle and throw pillows. The best things I've found here are small furniture items. A small table for powder bath, a tall three tier shelf for guest bath, an entry console (haven't purchased this one yet, but I've got my eye on it!)... they have so many to choose from and they have a great selection of the vintage/driftwood look that's in right now. Sure, there is plenty of crap here, but if you come with an open mind you will find some GREAT stuff! Other reviewers have complained about customer service, but I don't come here expecting that. This is warehouse style, they don't have more in the back or know where another might be. If you can't find what you're looking for, move on. read more

You have to be in the mood to go to GR. It's like walking a mall, but all in 1 store. Upon walking in, grab a cart, but be ready for a little rickety noise as your cart bounces around over the tile floor. I came in to find a large poster frame, and to find an associate to help retrieve it from an elevated shelf, was difficult. I walked to the register to get help, then walked back to find the called helper to get it for me. While the employees are helpful, you must seek them out, since there aren't folks around to ask if you need anything. Kinda a self-service store. But the redeeming aspect is the 50% red line sections. I found a 20 inch x 30 inch (or so) frame marked down to $10. Not too shabby. read more

Garden Ridge is a bit of a last resort for me and I wouldn't normally come here unless I was looking for something I couldn't get anywhere else. This location is very dirty and unorganized, with broken items scattered across the store. If you can't find what you're looking for, don't even bother asking where to find it.. the employees are usually just as lost as you are. Now before you start telling yourself that this is a bad place to avoid, consider the positives that may make your visit worthwhile. The store a lot bigger than it looks, offering a large variety of items. In particular, this store specializes in holiday decorations for a variety of occasions. Those buying in bulk may also find this store more appealing. Overall, Garden Ridge offers a pretty mediocre shopping experience coupled with a disappointing quality of service. Some people may have a better experience than others, but most will come out empty-handed and unsatisfied. That being said, the negatives of this place will outweigh the positives for most customers. I wouldn't recommend coming here, unless there was something very specific that you needed to get that couldn't be bought elsewhere. read more

Was here the Saturday after Black Friday, so it was packed. I found a basket I liked, but it didn't have any tags on it, and it was the only one of its kind left. I asked two employees (difficult to track down, by the way) for assistance. First one told me I'd have to bring the item to the front register for the cashiers to look it up for me. Second one (Nancy) said the same thing--cashiers up front would try to find the item online. Upon request, she attempted to help search for it online (thank you Nancy!), but unfortunately couldn't find it. The line was incredibly long, and I didn't want to have to wait to get to a cashier, for them to find the item, and tell me a price I didn't want to pay for it. Carrying a basket similar to the one I liked, I made my way to the very front of the store and asked a third employee for help. She, of course, advised the same as the previous two, adding that if the cashier wasn't able to find the basket online, then they'd just go with the price of one similar to it. I held up the second basket I picked up and asked if she thought it would work. Condescendingly, she said, "No they'd look at it and say it's way too small to be similar." First of all, it wasn't that much smaller. Second of all, it was a much nicer basket (included a lining too) than the one I wanted to purchase. Still, I thanked her, and asked her to get a manager for me. I almost felt like she didn't want to/wasn't going to. Finally, I was able to speak to one of the store managers, Jessica, who successfully identified the basket online to determine the price. She was also nice about it, which I greatly appreciated. (Thank you, Jessica!) TLDR; It's difficult to find store employees for assistance. 50% of them weren't helpful/didn't even try to help. I have only been here twice, and let me tell you, this place is humongous! I have gotten lost here several times on both visits, which, for me, is what I like about shopping. I hate that about me as well because when I only have a few items on the list I need to buy, I end up getting more than I needed. Almost everything is so nice, I wish I could buy them all. Hah! The place is cleaner than most, some things are just everywhere but that is because some people do not put them back where they found them. The atmosphere is great. Employees are nice and helpful (especially that cute guy, I think his name is Allen who went above and beyond to help me put my newly bought couch inside my small car; thanks, love, if you are reading this). The location is convenient since it's on the way from my place to my fiancé's. One thing I do not like is that some of the furniture is slightly damaged, but that is why you just gotta look at the nooks and crannies to get the best possible and available furniture. Just because it is on the website does not mean the store has it or that it is 100% mint condition, so do not be disappointed if you do not find or are satisfied with what they have. Don't believe anything that is advertised on their website. They advertise sale items but don't actually have them in stock. Instead they stock items that look EXACTLY the same as those advertised, but then claim they have a different SKU# so they are not actually on sale.
