ATA Sushi is the greatest surprise of our recent vacation to Zihuatanejo. We had hoped to visit the Zihua location but it was closed. So, we went to the original in Ixtapa. Best Decision Ever. The sashimi was incredible. We were hoping to have Dorado sashimi (a first for us) and we did. And it was beyond our wildest expectations. We also Tako sashimi. Fantastic. I forgot the name of the role we had, but it was fantastic. I know this won't help much, but the role was excellent. This is a very small restaurant. It reminded me of the old Rock and Roll Sushi in Redondo Beach, CA. But, the wait staff was warm, professional and helpful. Sitting outside in the courtyard to eat dinner was a nice change of pace. Pretty romantic. Lastly, ATA Sushi is WAY under-priced. Or, better said, ATA Sushi is GREAT value for $$$. And, the quality and presentation meets or beats Nobu. Visit ATA Sushi. You deserve a little taste of heaven on Earth.

Best sushi around. Brought the whole family here. I never thought "Sushi" when going to Mexico. Glad we tried it, though. It was insanely good!! The Rainbow Roll, the Ixtapa and the Zihua Roll were Mango. We. So good. And the deserts? 4 big chunks of fried banana with ice cream, and either chocolate or strawberry. I'm a huge fan of this place. Clean, great food, good times. A+
The four of us ate there last night for supper (2-2-23). It was AMAZING! We started out with a spicy tuna roll. We ordered it when we first sat down. It was a bit heavy on the rice, but the flavor was perfect!!! We ordered Dragon Roll, Crunch Roll, Surprise Roll, Cameron Roll. All had beautiful presentation and even better taste! My mom ordered fried rice. It was amazing. Our friend ordered a plate of several things. She loved them all! If you enjoy sushi, make this restaurant a must while you are visiting the area! MOST SINCERELY! read more

The fish vacillates between bad and tasteless. The Udon is fettuccini (though inoffensive for fettuccini). The drinks are not good, the service is slow, and you're going to get harassed by loud music, street hawkers, and loud blenders. I would really like to pull a silver lining here, but I got nothing. read more

I was able to eat here and have great sushi and fantastic service. The place is very clean and they take your temperature and give you hand sanity as soon as you walk in. They are very well priced and give you big portions. The ingredients are very fresh too. read more

Local fish caught in local waters, yes please. We tried Dorado, yellow fin tuna, salmon, shrimp, and octopus. All sushi style, and Nigiri. Fresh and well presented. We ate all fresco. Little tables out side, open air. read more

I'm rating this sushi place three stars because of good service - food was only two stars. Our order of mahi mahi sashimi did not taste very fresh. No one in our party of four could eat it. Our waiter was very helpful and took it off our bill without us asking. We ordered six dishes in total and the others were just okay. Service was very prompt and attentive. read more
