I have a leak in my drain pad that leaks constantly on the floor when my AC unit is on. I got charged $400 to fix the leak which I paid. The "repair" only consisted of putting a cheap adhesive spray where the leak was which didn't fix the issue. The next day after the fix it still leaks. No idea why I got charged so much for something I could've did. I called Atara about it to request a refund since the "repair" didn't even last a day. If you're gonna charge someone $400 at LEAST fix the issue. They told me they'll call me back which they never did and when I try to call them now it goes to voicemail. I told them my air conditioner was leaking . They agreed to fix it until the air conditioner doesn't leak. They will charge me 400. I agreed. After some time they told me they couldn't fix leak, but they fixed something for me and charged me 400. I asked them why I had to pay when I asked for the leak to be fixed but you didn't. They said they repaired my machine and it was no longer repairable and I had to replace it with a new one. But I still have to pay 400. They said they wouldn't leave my house if I didn't pay. I paid because I thought about my tenants. Then they told me that it would cost 3,700 or 7,000 options to replace it with a new one. I want to ask your company, why do you want me to use 400 to repair the machinery and equipment that will be replaced soon? No normal person would do that. Where are your company's morals and bottom line? I hope that no one who reads my review will choose this company. read more

Careful of the hustle. Please don't fall for the games and what they say. Don't fall for the small talk of family and character. That's part of the game for trust. My issue was simple. My furnace needed a restart. After restarting my furnace, Atara started adding reasons for fixes and charges. 272.12 dollars later, they started playing with my AC with a portable device (to ensure everything was working), and suddenly, my transducer switch stopped working for heat. The warrantied part is free, but Atara charged me a processing fee of $75 and claimed they must have the part to get a new one. I spoke my peace and told them I felt I was being taken advantage of. They denied it, and they still had my "new" part in their possession. I allowed them to come and finish. Now, we are up to $512 with labor. They installed the new part, and guess what happened in less than 24 hours... My furnace shut off and needed to be restarted again. Highly disappointed. They didn't fix anything. read more

Initially Omar took my call from the field, super courteous and welcoming; to Brittany in the office following up before my appointment letting me know arrival times and estimated prices -everyone on the team was a pleasure to talk to. I was greeted at my house with technician Erik who was nothing but professional and can tell he enjoys his trade. He walked me through his inspection and findings - and despite the age of the system he took his time with his work, throughly checked internal components and took the time to explain what was wrong with my system and explain his workflow at each stage - keeping me informed which I really appreciated. He was clean with his work and got things up and running after replacing some aging components and even went above and beyond helping seal the system up. No pushy sales tactics, just honest work. Noticed our furnace fan wasn't blowing any air upstairs after hearing a subtle whistling noise. Next day, neither upstairs nor downstairs was putting out any air through the vents. Called Altara and was able to schedule a diagnostic visit a couple days later. Oddly enough, everything started working again but I still kept our appointment just to make sure everything was okay. Erik did a complete check on the furnace, control boards and thermostats. I went ahead and requested he perform a preventative maintenance since our unit has never had one and it was at a fair price. Tested the unit to make sure everything was working fine. He was knowledgeable and explained everything thoroughly to make sure I understood what was being done on the furnace. This company is fairly new but provided exceptional service and very fair rates. I would highly recommend them to anyone looking for HVAC repair or maintenance. First of all, I did hire another company to come and install my minisplit. They didn't do a great job. The freeon leaked out. AFTER THAT!, I hired ATARA Mechanical to come out and repair the leak in my recently installed mini split. They were very nice, they came out did all the diagnostics and made the repairs they! recommended. A MONTH OR SO LATER, For the second time the freeon leaked out of the system. Not the first company's mistake right!?. NOW, They refuse to take responsibility for their work and repairs. The tech said it wasn't their fault or my fault! The freeon leaked out magically I guess. I paid ATARA Mechanical $600 to take care of the leak and it happened again after their repairs! Then, theyare trying to blame the first companyfor the freeon leaking out the second time. Now, they were trying to charge $1300 to fix it right this time as if $600 to "fix it" right the first time wasn't enough. The facts: Atara mechanical came and diagnosed the problem(not the installers) they gave me their suggestions(not the installers) to fix the issue. Now, they try to blame the other company. ! Telling me to reach out to the original installer is bull crap and they know it. They were supposed to fix the leak I paid them to fix and didn't obviously. BBB is my next stop and then civil court. I used the Yelp quote function and received several responses. Only two companies actually provided a quote. The rest just asked for my phone number. Atara offered a great price, had good reviews, and were available just days following my initial request. I really appreciated the great communication via Yelp messaging. They also provided a text the morning of my appointment to let me know that the technician Eric, was on his way. Eric was very professional and put on shoe covers each time he went in/out of my home. He checked on my furnace, thermostat, and AC. He even went out of his way to purchase a new furnace filter for me! Eric was also very articulate in explaining various things to me and the invoice emailed to me was very detailed. I appreciate when a company utilizes technology well to benefit the consumer. Horrible customer service! Have four unit apartment rental in Victorvillie. Had them come out to replace a fan motor for apartment D after installation the tenant replied back to us that there was barely any air coming out through the vent. I personally went to verify weather the tenant was being accurate and saw for myself that the air was barely coming out throughout all the vents. We than reached out to the company and were told that the fan motor that was installed was the correct one and they refused to come out to verify if it was the correct fan motor without a service charge. The young technician that came out to perform the service was very knowledgeable and very professional. So we thought they were a honest company and would honor their work. Unfortunately that didn't happen. The tenants went out and bought a portable AC unit for now till we can save up to have an honest company come out and fix the problem. read more
