We sold a house on December 30th 2024, it now January 7th and even after they have gotten approvals on where and who to disperse the money too, they are still asking for more and more approvals just to keep our money. When my wife and I showed up unannounced with no appointment, he still made time for us and made sure that we did not leave his office until all our questions were answered. Did you know a real estate closing could be explained as FUN? I surely didn't until I closed with Jill Michaels! The closing process was super easy and smooth with Jill's team. Unfortunately I don't like doing this but this whole process was messed up from the forefront. They seem they were rubber stamping the whole process. Especially fighting with my chosen land surveyor which almost made me the buyer not be able to close. Everything I was legally entitled to was a longer drawn out process which actually delayed my closing and my septic system being fixed. They're laziness cost me the buyer thousands of dollars of time, money and effort. I strongly recommend going to any other title company than this one. Also after closing they delayed the payments to the septic people not being paid so a permit wasn't pulled until 3 weeks ago. Awful company! Our buyer chose this company for the closing, and they apparently made a mistake on their deed. We had to do a rent-back with deposit with our buyers, and a month later these people still have not given our deposit back even though all the corresponding paperwork has been filled out. Every time we call, no one ever answers. Our realtor has been kind enough to help us get our deposit by sending emails and leaving messages, and still no one has gotten back to her either. worst escrow and tittle company we have ever deal with. No communication at all even we pre warned them that their reviews online were pretty bad and hope we wouldn't experience the same. We should trust those past experience buyers that reviewed them. We had to follow up with them all the time to get the docs. Then the day prior to close of the escrow, they sent an email to make sure we transfer the fund. We did not even know how much to transfer and where to transfer. Contacted my agent then that's when we received the emails from ATG Tittle. Like a few of the reviews said, if you want to get information down to the last minutes then use them. On top of all the stress to deal with this firm, they made mistake by charging us rather than the seller. What if we dont check the settlement????? Sold our condo and closing was on august 20th 2021 and handed over all the keys. Should received wired for my fund on the same day but was told to go back and wait. On August 23rd, 3 days after signing still receive no notification of the wiring and agent from Redfin knows nothing about it. No one to update me and I have to called numerous times and then Monica texted me at 11.00 am that they will send me the wire confirmation shortly. Waited until 4 pm texted her again regarding my wired. No reply and call her and was told that they are unable to wire the money as UPS did not pick up their documents in between their offices for this transaction. What an excuse and I told her it was not our problem as all keys were handed to them and all documents were signed in their branch office. Call again no reply and she call back. We said if we don't received the wired by 5.00 pm we will make a police report. She said go ahead. So decided to drive to the nearest police station but on the way I called the branch office that we signed the documents at and told the lady named Beth about the wired we didn't received. She said UPS missed the documents but she already scanned the documents thru emailed to Monica Sulaimani (Fairfax office) on August 20th itself and they should have wired money to me by then. Finally at the police station as we will making the report we received a text from my bank that fund will wired. This is how we get our wired from this company. Have to chased after them. Very bad experienced. read more

Terrible service! I discovered over 2 years ago that my deed had a mistake. I contacted ATG Title to correct the deed. First they wanted a copy of the deed. Months later they decided they needed the original deed. No one ever answers the phone. The recording on the answering service says for a faster response, email. Yeah, well it's been almost 2 years and I still don't have a corrected deed. The service can't get much slower. read more

Not terribly impressed. I've been involved with thousands of real estate settlements. Most concerning in this one, there was no distinction in my experience between the buyer and the settlement company (I was the seller). There is something wrong in any transaction where the buyer is asking the seller for information on the seller's existing loan. It should be the settlement company making those inquiries and only the settlement company. Post-closing, I experienced my sales proceeds being delayed (paraphrasing: "sorry, must have slipped through the cracks"), not a good look at all from the people who are trusted with controlling the money. After 6 weeks I still don't have copies of closing documents and my inquiries about the status of the money I left in escrow were at first ignored and then replied to with, effectively, we will start that process now that you have reached out. Individually, these things happen. Collectively, they are a sign. Conversely, the contractor they sent to handle the signing of documents could not have been more timely, kind, or efficient. If you are working with a realtor who recommends using this company, you will quite possibly get the service you think is appropriate. Settlement companies know well who butters their bread, after all. The rest of us should stay away. In the restaurant business there is an excellent adage: "If you want to know how clean the kitchen is, go in to the bathroom." Well, I've been into ATG's bathroom, and it wasn't even close to being clean. Wonder what the kitchen looks like? Remember, the money is kept in their kitchen. Your money! read more

If I could zero stars i would. The lack of communication, accountability and professionalism is at a all time high with this title company and Monica Martin being the worse. I will never refer anyone to use this company. They shorted my pay off amount WITHOUT my knowledge until the day of closing when the amounts were made clear on my closing documents, they delayed my refinancing process 4-5 weeks with their ineffectiveness,and lack of organization. Monica could careless about the anguish this title company has caused with a response being "it's Saturday, we are closed". Well, if you're closed then why answer the phone? Especially if you're customer service was going to be less than sub-par. This company really needs a few lessons on effective communication and building a trustworthy rapport with their clientele. I just sold a property in Springfield, VA. The buyer picked this company. Scheduled to close at 11 am. I specifically requested this time because I live 50 miles away and I did not want to have to fight horrible traffic both directions. Got a phone call at 10:50 am saying the documents have not arrived. I had some other places to be so I told them I would be back at 2 pm. At 1 pm, I was told the agent could not make it at 2 pm and asked me to push it back to 3 pm and meet at a different location. I could not go to the other location so I agreed on meeting them at the same location at 3:30 pm. I arrived ready to sign at the agreed time, however, the agent did not show up until close to 4:30 pm. She apologized and I get it, it's not her fault because the lender did not send the documents on time, but if they don't have everything ready, why agree on closing date and time? Public be warned. read more
