They look good being dropped down but the ends are very thing, resulting in a tiny straight line. I do understand that this can be improved with the touchup appointment so I am not worried about the eyebrows at this time. c) my lip blushing. While you were tattooing the lip blushing I could tell that there were not even movements and coverage when you were applying the ink. There was ink everywhere, to the point where you stated I looked like the joker. I got home and my lips were very blotchy with the ink and there was no liner to line the lip edges. When I asked why at the appointment you stated you dont go to the edges. I did some research online and watched live videos of the process to lip blushing. They first mapped the lips out. They then clearly defined the lips by lining the lips with ink first, then they moved on to filling in between the liner with intentional small movements from one side of the mouth to the other side until the space was evenly inked. None of this was done for me, I just have random lines of ink in places and not in others and random blobs of ink in some places and not in other places. I also dont have any liner except on the very tip of my upper lip, which are not even either. At this point I do wish you well but would like to go ahead and cancel my retouch appointment that is set up for September 20th. I also would like to request that you refund all the extra money you charged me outside of the agreed upon Groupon price of $300 (plus a 20% tip of the $300 rate, which is $60) so I am asking for you to keep $360 and return the remainder of the payment to me. I just posted pictures of my experience with Athena. I'm the one with the eyebrows going in opposite directions. I bought a Groupon for $100 that was supposed to be worth $400 worth of work. When I got there she said I needed a reconstruction, which I understand I have very little eyebrows. So that was $200, then when I showed her what I wanted and what I had been doing using a pencil and shadow she said well that's ombré, I'll do it for another $60. This part I wasn't going to put in but my friends who have had their eyebrows done said it was not normal and to include it. The procedure hurt so bad I cried. When I friends asked if she numbed the area I said yes but it was about 20-30mins before the appointment actually started because she was still working on someone. After the appointment they are good but looked a little bit off in the center. She said they will get better and especially after the touch up. So because I didn't know any better I tipped her $50. So at this point I'm out $410 out of pocket but it's supposed to be $710 worth of work.... When I came back for my touch up the appointment didn't actually start for an hour and a half. One because she wasn't even there, she was on a break and it was just her sister. And then two, she was complaining the entire time of a bad google review. I think she was so upset that it affected her hands because it was not only more painful, but as you can see, my eyebrows go in two different directions and the tails are overly crooked. $60 later I'm now $470 out of pocket, $770 worth of work and I still have to use a pencil and dip brow until I pay for a professional to correct it. Horrible experience lashes done in under 20mins, although Athena is nice and friendly. However, the moment we stepped into her room she made us redeem our Groupon (i prefer to pay for a service after it's been preformed) her space is not clean, she didn't use gloves, I never saw what was being put on my face, and the pads that held down my bottom lashes were so strongly coated in perfume/serum that my eyes were burning and extremely watery so she removed them and decided to adhere my top lashes with my eyes shut therefore causing my bottom lid to be glued to my top lid in turn she ripped them apart. I ask her how long they would last and she straight up told me.. THREE DAYS?!? what? She was late to the appointment due to having to "get supplies" so once she told me three days I automatically knew she went to the Tom Thomb next door for some $5 lashes. She informed me if I keep my face out of water that they should last a week. During the whole process she was a fast talker throwing out all these crazy deals like $89 for microbladding w/ a touch up when originally she charged $400+ but when walking in the door you get half off any service. She knows how to make her services sound like you are getting a "deal of a lifetime". In the middle of putting lashes on she asked me how i wore mine, i informed her that my natural lashes are fanned long i just needed some fullness added in. When finished my top lids felt so heavy and my lashes looked like caterpillars, but I figured she just finished -let me give myself a day before I can judge. Athena hadn't even let me look at them before she was having my momma pull up Groupon to leave a review. She stated "my clients come based off my reviews and if you leave a good review I'll discount your next service" which explains all the positive reviews. But don't pressure people to do it right then and there they need time to adjust and given time to properly review your service. I had my appointment done on a Thursday evening. I gave myself the weekend to acclimate before leaving a review. Thursday night i could not sleep my lids were so swollen and in pain. Woke up Friday morning with hard white glue all throughout my lashes, they were rock hard I couldn't even run a wand through my lashes if my life depended on it. I had lashes glued to my physical eyelid not my lash line, I had lashes over lapping and empty spots, Friday night I lost two lash clusters. Saturday we reached out Athena to explain how unhappy I was with my lashes and how they were clumpy and patchy and how I had cement glue throughout the lashes. And her response was simply, "that's how clusters are" and that i could come back in for a soak to remove and she would do individuals for an additional $65 ... great customers service. I decided to soak the remaining lashes off (Sunday evening). After Athenas service my natural lashes lost length and are left feeling rough and look patchy. --overall, EXTREMELY misleading I could've spent $10 and done these myself at home. I cried as soon as I got in my car. I booked for NANO BROWS. She turned on the Nano tattoo gun for about 7 seconds, turned it off and began what felt like what my friends have described to me as microblading. This is my first time having any sort of procedures my face. I ask if she is micro blading, she says I'm doing NANO. I could feel the blade. I have done enough research to know nano is done with a tattoo gun with the nano needle. She never turned the tattoo gun back on. At the end I ask to see the nano needle, she says "ok, even though you don't know what you are looking at" and never shows me and proceeds to clear the tray she had the equipment on. I ask her again "this is Nano brows" she says "this is combination of nano, shading, and micro blading" I PAID FOR NANO BROWS which is a much more natural looking brow. I even showed her a screenshot of nano brows before she started. What I have is the exact dark, ghetto looking brows that I did not want. I did not want to get into a confrontation with her so I did not challenge her. I cried all the way home and I am embarrassed of my eyebrows and have been wearing a baseball cap every since. I paid for permanent eyeliner with her, I will be requesting a refund and will not return for a brow touch up as I have experienced she will do whatever she wants to do. I try never to leave negative reviews, but I seriously feel like I don't have a choice. We recently moved to the area, and I decided I wanted to get eyelash extensions done again after taking a break from them through Covid. I tend to purchase Groupons for initial services to test them out before paying full price. And can I just say, it's for EXACTLY this reason. I've had eyelash extensions done several times over the years, but these are by far the worst and cheapest extensions I've ever received. To start, they feel cheaper than the lashes from a drugstore! They're way closer to costume lashes from the dollar store! When Jazz put them on, they definitely felt cheap, but I thought maybe it was just from having gone so long without them so I shook it off and even paid $30 to upgrade to "fuller" lashes. I'm kicking myself. Not even 9 hours after my appt and an entire corner of lashes has already fallen off. No. No. No. ABSOLUTELY NO! I know that the Groupon price makes it very tempting to go here for lashes, but trust me, you will waste your time and money. I went here today for a hybrid eyelash extension and ended up having to go somewhere to get them removed the same day. I knew going in here was a mistake at the very beginning of the procedure. The location of Athena Beauty Bar is in a small office space room, and is not very neat or clean. The girl who put on my lashes kept trying to get the owner to do them for her, and also kept getting glue stuck on my top and bottom lashes. Their solution to this was to open my eye up (no gloves were used.. super sanitary right) and take tweezers to pull them apart. It was painful. I lost a lot of bottom eyelashes. After 20ish minutes, the completed look was done. Not full, the outer few lashes were thick as a rock, itchy AF and lots of eye burning. I had a LOT of glue residue left on my bottom lashes, around my eye and on top of the lashes. Within 2 hours I went to an actual studio to get them removed. At first it was great and then as soon as my Groupon coupon was ran and I paid for two sessions my tech asked the owner Athena how much money did she make and it from my appointment. Furthermore my first appointment was in the middle of August and I was told she would call me to book my second appointment, which I already pre paid for, sometime in September because her booking as full on the weekends. It is nearing the end of September, and I have tried calling. I'm considering my other session a lost cause, and I don't suggest anyone use this place.
