It's a cute little spa. I had a pedicure done by Regina. She was able to do myself and my grandma at the same time in an hour which was great. My only complaint is that the two girls in the front area when we arrived were complaining the entire time we waited for Regina. Making rude comments about a customer that was running late. I'm glad it wasn't me but this is so unprofessional and made me really uncomfortable. It was also weird that we had to walk through the hair salon to get to the nail room. I get a pedi every 2 weeks and well I guess I'm just used to better service. For $40 a pedicure I sort of expected more. Oh well. I was visiting and it was good for my trip. read more

Amazing masseuses. I've had massages from numerous massage therapists there and have never been disappointed. Every masseuse is very professional, friendly, and welcoming. I do have to say that my absolute favorite is Mckinzee. I like deep tissue massages and she has the STRONGEST hands! She truly performs intense body work. I recently had a deep tissue massage where she incorporated cupping as she massaged and it was the best experience and best massage I have ever had. As soon as my massage was finished, I booked the same massage and cupping for my fiancé so he could experience the most amazing massage too! I purchase from Groupon for the Athena nail spa for $17. I set an appointment and went in. The spa woman asked for additional $10 for the gel. Plus tip turns about $30 total. Not cheap. Worst thing is 3 weeks later my thumb nail broke. My nail had not been broken for a few years as I always went the nail spa run and done by Vietname-nese. They add more layers of protection to prevent nail breaking. The nail spa at Athena is done by a caucasian woman. I don't recommend this place at all. They provide you a cup of tea which is different. Don't go there if you don't care about that cup of tea. Basically it's run by one person only. She needs to come back and forth to deal with you and other customers. You end up spending more than 75 minutes with very weak nails that will be broken in 3 weeks. read more

I just moved up the street from Athena Day Spa so when it was time for a haircut, I figured I would check it out. I made an appointment online, came in at 9am on a Saturday, and was promptly seen by 9:10/9:15ish. The place is cute, clean, and they have some adorable things for sale up front (at pretty good prices too!) My stylist was Sabrina and she was great! Listened to exactly what I wanted and did a great job. She started with a scalp massage, washed my hair, cut it, then did a blow dry and even a little straightening. She was easy to talk to and we were laughing the whole time. I'll be back soon! read more

I went in for a rehydrating pedicure and while everything was clean and richly decorated, only the tops of my lower legs were getting any of the treatments. That being said, I was treated to a hot foot soak in a pretty metal tub with hot rocks at the bottom. Then my lower legs were slathered in lotion and my nail lady, Regina, took two hot stones and rubbed them over the lotion. It felt so relaxing (I'm assuming the heat allows the lotion to penetrate the skin deeper). Then I chose a mint foot mask that was very sparsely painted on my feet and wrapped in Ziploc bags for about 5 minutes. As for my manicure, I was given sugar scrub to use on my hands and arms, it smelled yummy and left my skin silky soft. She did a great job on my nails---they are glossy and gorgeous! The pedicure chair was so huge and luxurious, I was offered hot tea in a pretty mug. The color choices for nails were basic---reds, pinks were 99% of the colors. They carry Opi, China Glaze, some Sinful Colors (1.99 in a store), Essie and VinylLux. The outside of the building is unassuming and shares a front entrance hall with some dental offices. read more

Received a gift card for my birthday and had never been to a spa before. Got a shellac manicure last week from Regina and she did awesome! Only took about 25 mins and she really got to know me rather than having awkward silence during the manicure. Went again today to get a relaxation massage from Morgan. I have never felt more relaxed in my life! Never had a professional massage before (never thought it was worth the money), but I definitely plan on coming back! I have Lupus and had a stroke a year and a half ago. My face was droopy on the right side and I had to learn to talk again. I looked terrible and most days ran a brush through my hair without looking in the mirror. When I did look I was so disgusted with my appearance. However, it was hard to find motivation to go get my hair done because I assumed it would not help much so I began a hermit's life, rarely going out. I finally could not go on like that and did some research for hairdressers in the Hazel Dell area. I read reviews and just kept coming back to Sabrina's. A gut feeling told me that that two bad reviews about her were not typical, nor fair. I booked an appointment but forgot to ask for her though! I arrived late but she was nice about it. I asked her name and was delighted to learn it was Sabrina after all! Sabrina really listened to me about what i have been through and what I hoped for in a fresh new look.She is an honest and very real person, I like that and felt instantly comfortable. Sabrina did a highlight/lowlight foil and cut my nasty damaged hair into a shoulder-length bob with a left hand part. I was shaking with joy by the time she finished with a blowdry style. I just could not believe it! Sabrina made me look and feel like a new woman! My hair is shimmering and the colors are so perfect- the cut is EXACTLY what I wanted but the total look exceeded all my hopes and expectations. I was in tears of joy ... I literally got up and gave her a hug, She said that my reaction is the very reason she loves her job, she loves to make people feel good about themselves [ I mean really, thank you Sabrina, thank you so much, you have done, with those gifted hands, more, by a long mile, than any doctor has ever done to make me feel well again.] I left her a big tip and will never call anyone to do my hair again but her! BTW: My family love it and everyone who has seen me since has remarked at how good I look now. Bought my daughter a groupon 3 months ago to have her hair done. Before her first Vegas trip! She was suppose to have a wash, cut, highlights and deep conditioning. She called me after her appointment which only took 45 maybe 55 minutes( no idea how you do all that in 45- a hour) she said it was rushed and when she came over right after there was Not much change to her hair! Color was the same and hair cut uneven. She was to shy to say anything so I called and asked for a refund. I've been a customer of Athena Day Spa for years and I've grown increasingly more and more disappointed in the experiences I've had there. My husband and I committed to monthly massages and just left our July massage pretty frustrated. An unfortunate thing to do after an hour and a half service and $260+ later. It's clear that the employees do not respect our time. We showed up to the appointment 15 minutes early and were dressed down waiting until 10 after when we were finally brought back to the room. Our half an hour scrub that cost us $86 was pretty much a pat down versus a scrub massage, if it's not supposed to be a massage it should be priced as an add on versus an additional service. The scrub is advertised to cost $10 so we could have purchased the scrub ourselves and applied it to each other and salvaged half the experience. Our 60 minute massage was really 45 minutes considering we were on the massage table waiting until 2:55pm for the LMT's to walk into the room and the massage ended at 3:36pm. Yeah, I kept track. It's what you do when you've been skeptical about the length of the massages you've been receiving. Athena gives you a $10 discount for re-booking a service, but what they don't tell you is there's a $10 charge to be placed side by side. So the re-booking fee is irrelevant. We could book a massage for the same day at the same time and save $20. We wish we had known that 4 massages ago. We don't do this because we have money to throw away, we do it to pamper ourselves and stay connected as a couple. The experience was crap and I feel taken advantage of. The friends that I've referred to this place and purchased gift certificates for will be diverted to a much more respectable spa. Save your coin guys, go somewhere else. read more

This was my second time ever doing bikini wax (the The first time I had a horrible experience) it was at a different salon Well my sister in law recommend this place to me and also told me to schedule with rose so I did. The first I got waxed it took almost an hour and that was only and Brazilian wax, at this salon it Took Rose no more then 15 min to give me a Brazilian wax and wax under the arms! All I have to say is EWW!! I was excited to get a pedicure here from the way they word the different pedicures on their website. My coworker treated me to a pedi and they only had one nail tech which we didn't know about or were told our services would be by the same tech. The worst part about it is the tech never washed her hands before switching between me or my coworkers feet!! And was double dipping in her jar of foot mask instead of scooping it out. The total service cost for both pedis came to $80.00 I felt it was a waste of money. Not going back! Too high of a risk for cross contamination or getting a fungus. A friend referred me to Brittany bearing in mind I am a mid twenties woman who hates awkward small talk and once loved boxed hair dye. Brittany (with the flawless Ariel-red hair) was able to text with me to set up an appointment, and worked me in within a couple of days of getting in touch. Score one for being able to text and set something up. Pull up to the salon and walk in, the front desk person didn't really have much info for me but I figured I wasn't there to see her anyway. Brittany had a client in the chair already who was clearly being fussy and taking up additional time for some issue she was creating. This was only obvious because the client was audibly being a pill, and Brittany was politely accommodating while watching the clock; She made a point to come over and introduce herself and apologize for running behind. Customer service is a lost art in this country but she was on it! She was very upfront and honest about what the healthiest options would be following my years of punishing my hair. She snagged me a beverage, and it was mercifully NOT the dreaded "small talk with the hair stylist" that has often kept me out of a salon chair. Brittany is funny, smart, and clearly is in her element doing color and cuts. It was like getting my hair done in my girlfriend's kitchen, in the sense that it was comfortable, fun, and I was surprised by how quickly everything went. Her rates were more than fair, and I felt it appropriate to tip extra because she showed me how to do the amazing Laverne Cox curls that I've coveted for so long. My red also held up longer than any other red I've had. I can't speak to any of the other services, the new location is cute and clean. But if you can schedule with Brittany, you'll enjoy your time in the chair! and look smokin! read more

This review is for sabrina. I saw her groupon and decided to try her out because I was in need of a new hair stylist. She said not to purchase the groupon and she would honor the price and that she made less money if I purchased the package on line. We set the appointment for 12:30 two days later she texted me if I could change my time to 11:30, again no problem. My reminder text comes the day before for 11:25, and I arrived on time. I sat waiting till 11:50 and I finally asked the very kind receptionist what the delay was, that no one has said a word to me, just left me sitting and waiting. The receptionist said she was just finishing up, and I preceded to feel very uncomfortable. The receptionist said that Sabrina hasn't been well and would be going to the emergency room after my appointment. I stated that this may have been a mistake coming if this woman is not well. She said no, that she would really like to do my hair. With that said, Sabrina finally says my name to follow her and to sit at her station covered in hair and she would be back to clean it up. I said this was a huge mistake and walked out the door. I never received an apology for keeping me waiting, she never had the curtousy to even introduce herself to me. This has to be the most unprofessional experience I have ever had with a stylist. I'm very grateful she never got her hands on my hair. The only thing I can say now is shame on you for treating clients this way, and warn other people not to use your services.
