For waxing, you honestly can't get any better than Rose. I have pretty difficult hair AND sensitive skin. She was crazy fast, almost completely painless, and she always took a minute to slow down and explain very thoroughly anything I had questions about. My daughter bought me a pedicure for Christmas. Paid in advance and was told they couldn't give her a receipt because they're computer is not set-up to issue receipts if you pay cash in advance because most people pay at the time of service? They sent her out the door with nothing in hand, naturally, happily taking her cash. We went in and had our pedicures and after we left she asked me what was different about our pedicures- nothing, I replied. She said something should be different because she paid more for mine than her own. I called them and they told me "their records show she paid the same for both" and what did her receipt say? I explained that they told her they couldn't give her a receipt because it was paid cash in advance. They acted dumbfounded by that response. All they had to do was check the books and verify their register was 15 over they day she paid for the pedicures, but they didn't seem interested in checking the books which tells me somebody saw an opportunity to take advantage of a young, inexperienced kid and did so. Add to it my toe nails aren't even and my consultant booked somebody else for nails during my appointment and then was in a rush to get through my pedicure- then she had the nerve to give me her personal business card- sounds like trying to poach the businesses customers to me. Poorly managed company with zero concern for customer service. They've lost my business having taken advantage of my daughter's trusting nature. I will say the gal that did my daughter's pedicure did a nice job- she did seem invested in the appointment. If I could give zero stars, I would. read more

I have been going to this salon for a while and have tolerated the inconsistent customer service because finding another salon seemed like more of a hassle than waiting past my appointment time . The final straw was this morning when I showed up for my 8am Saturday morning haircut and color. I was 10min. early and by 8:05 the front door was still locked and no sign of my hairdresser. At 8:15 someone finally came to unlock the door. No smile,no eye contact, no explanation on where my hairdresser may be. I left. At 8:50 my hairdresser texted me(a call would have been preferred) and gave me 3 excuses as to why she wasn't on time. She offered to get me in, I said no thank you. I will be doing business elsewhere. Hopefully at a place where grownups can get it together on a Saturday morning and be on time. read more

All I can say is this place is the MOST unprofessional hair salon. It was my first time there and was wanting a hair trim. Not only was there another Aesthetician in the waiting room where i was with her feet up on the bench, my hair dresser was 20 min late and no one acknowledged she was running behind. Finally I got to the back and I told her to do an all over color to match my normal hair color, light brown and just trim the ends. I have very long hair , so I was hoping to relax. WRONG! the hair dresser talked the whole time about her personal life. As time went on and color was sitting, it was looking very dark, i questioned it and was told it was fine. by the time we went to wash it out my hair was looking black. frusterated, i questioned it again. after the wash my hair is now jet black and splotchy!! and I got a horrible blow dry with major sticky product in my hair, and now my hair is black not light brown!! . Not happy I payed her and went on my way. Got home and was taking a closer look and to my surprise my hair is not even and some parts weren't even colored!! This is mistake a beauty school student would make NOT a "professional" hair dresser. I was furious! I called the spa to tell them I was really unhappy. The manager spoke with me and said we they would set me up with someone else free of charge. I was set up with another person for a coupe days later, I had to cancel cause my son was sick, I left her a message and left the spa a message. No return call till I called again later that day, only to get a rude txt to my phone saying I would need to pay for the appointment and I cost her money cause i couldn't make it due to my son. Not only is this salon the MOST RUDE and unprofessional "spa" around their hairdressers need to go back to beauty school! I am appalled at the lack of professionalism and that no one was willing to take ownership of this awful basic haircolor change that turned out to be a nightmare!! I wouldn't even rate this 1 star but I'm trying to be nice! GO SOMEWHERE ELSE WHERE THE GIRLS ARE NICE AND ACTUALLY KNOW WHAT CUSTOMER SERVICE IS , AND KNOW HOW TO CUT AND COLOR HAIR! I've been a long time customer of Athena. I went for ocasional massages, bikini waxes and pedicures before they moved. Since they've moved I've been a regular massage customer. I can't say enough good things about Tiffani. She works wonders on aches and pains and her scalp massage. Wow. I've recently added reflexology to my monthly massage. I've had bikini and brow waxes there too. Rose, Kariss and Samantha all do a great fast job. Quick waxing is the best waxing in my book! The pedicure area has huge comfortable chairs like you'd have in your living room. Very comfortable! I just found out Samantha does lash extensions too. I just got them yesterday. They look great! I've never had any hair services done since my daughter is a hair stylist and does it all for me, but all the services I have had I enjoyed. It's a luxurious atmosphere that makes me feel quite pampered! I also appreciate their online booking system. You can go on, choose your service and it shows you all the open times and who is available. It allows you to create a login so you can rebook previous services easily. They also do booking via text and regular old phone. No excuse not to make an appointment! :) read more

I was given a spa day facial, massage, manicure and pedicure. I was shocked when I discovered there were no slippers so I had to walk bare footed to the treatment room, I don't believe this is following State guidelines and it certainly isn't sanitary. But the facial was nearly perfect if the practitioner had performed the movements more slowly it would have been perfect. She was very nice . The massage was great she paid attention to what I had told her and was great. The manicure and pedicure were minimal and barely ok. a day after the service my feet looked like they needed a pedicure. She was rushed taking personal phones calls paid no attention to the dry skin on my feet, really disappointing. I would recommend Athena for massage and facials but for manicure and pedicures there are many better options out there. I am a licensed cosmetology, esthetics and nail instructor so I do know how these services should be done. read more

My daughter had given me "Spa Day" at Athena, and I have to say it was wonderful. I switched from acrylic nails to the new gel nails, and they look great. And my feet have never felt better after my pedicure. It was so nice to try some different things, like the hot stones on my feet after the girl did my pedicure, and she massage just the right pressure points, it was amazing. The body massage was dreamy, and I felt like I floated out of the place! I can't say enough about the friendly service, the nice conversation I had with the manicurist, and how comfortable I felt. I cannot say enough about how wonderful Tiffani is. She is so skilled and intuitive in her massage practice. I have been going to her for several years now and despite thinking that massage was for the Country Club/Ladies who lunch crowd, I have found that seeing Tiffani about every five weeks has helped tremendously with my back issues, and so for me,it is just as much therapeutic as restorative. She listens, remembers and has just the right touch to keep my body feeling great. Seeing her is just as important as seeing my doctor or dentist to keep my health issues in check. Her calm manner and sweet disposition make it a pleasure to spend time with her. The facility is clean, quiet, they send text message reminders and I have not had one bad or sub-par experience with my massage appointments in four years. My husband bought me a gift certificate for a spa day, I was super excited. I went in to have the first part done which was a mani and pedi. I have acrylic nails so really my mani would be super easy. A massage and polish change, the nail lady didn't even have to shape, file or anything. I wanted gel polish so that's extra which is cool. All I heard about was how the tech was having a problem with her friend and she was in a hurry to leave and meet up with her to have a conversation. She clearly rushed thru what was supposed to be a two hour appointment. There was a booking issue trying to find time because the receptionist said it takes an hour for each and wanted to make sure I wasn't shorted any time. Well I was rushed! The tech didn't even give me a little longer massage since she didn't have to shape/file my nails. My gel polish chipped with a few days which it's not supposed to . That is why I paid more for it. The tech charged me for the full mani and it was a glorified nail polish change at best. Horrible experience, I'm going to find time to use my gift certificate just so it's not a waist but I'm not looking forward to it. I won't return After its used. Blah frustrating read more

I had highlights and my hair cut by Sabrina after purchasing a Groupon back in May 2017. She did a good job and is very quick. I decided to go back and have her do my highlights last week. She was very quick, but this time I am not sure she used the right color or left it on long enough. I noticed after I washed and dried my hair two days later, the blond was an orange blond and not the bright blonde that I asked for. I wrote her and asked if she could redo a few of the highlights around my face to make them brighter. She wrote me a day later and said sure, which day works. I said whatever works for you, just fit me into your schedule. I wrote two more times without hearing anything. I finally gave up and called the salon. I asked for the manager, but apparently I had to go through the receptionist instead. I told her what had happened and she said Sabrina was sick this week. She said she would let her know and have her get in touch with me. At this point, I would never go back there. Very unprofessional. read more

Got my hair cut here and had terrible results. This was my first and last experience at Athena Day Spa. I honestly don't remember the stylist's name, but she damaged my hair so badly I feel I have to warn others. She talked non-stop, seemed distracted, and also seemed determined to sell me on a Brazilian blowout. I had a 'deep conditioning' treatment before my cut, which left me sitting under a VERY hot heater for much longer than I think was necessary. My hair felt fried. I've never had a hairdresser do this before: after the conditioning treatment, she BRUSHED my hair very roughly while it was still wet. I could literally hear and feel my hair breaking. I'm not sure if she had an agenda to sell me on the brazilian blowout, but by the time she was done with my hair, it was a decent cut, but the next day it was clear my hair was badly broken/damaged and the frizz levels went through the roof. If I could put 0 stars, I would. I had a Brazilian done on Monday February 16th from Kariss Crow. I knew it hurt more than normal brazilians as I do them every 4-6 weeks for the past couple years and figured that I was just more sensitive that day. When I got home I went to check out down there since it still hurt really bad. Not only was there still a bunch of hairs still attached, but skin had been ripped off of my body resulting in open wounds. Today, Thursday February 19th, I decided to call them to let them know of what had happened. I asked for a manager and the girl that answered said that was her. She was extremely rude and said, "Well, that happens so there is nothing that I can do for you." My skin is NOT supposed to rip off to the point where it is painful to walk or wear undies. I would have appreciated if she listened to my concern and would make sure that it does not happen to myself or others but she didn't feel that it was necessary. Never go here!!! read more

Kariss...lord almighty there aren't enough words to describe how amazing this woman is! A few years back I moved to town from out of state and needed a wax and took a shot with Athena. Best decision ever!! Kariss has taken interest every time I am in and asks how I'm doing, family is, work...all of the above she remembers in detail every time I am in (which is honestly not enough for how amazing she is). I have referred my family, friends, and clients of my own from my own job and will always continue to do so. Even friends who swear up and down they'll never get waxed are return customer of hers because she does such a great job and makes them feel so comfortable.
