I have never been someone to spend time in a salon, but I absolutely love going to this nail salon monthly!! All of the girls there are really good, knowledgeable and super kind. The prices are cheaper/compatible to other places in this area and their work is always top notch! I would recommend anyone giving them a try! Athena Nail and Spa - My own nails with "dip" color :) - Nail Salons Near Me - Metairie, Louisiana

I've started going to this nail salon since its close to my house. The man (Min) does a good job on my nails but has constantly cut my cuticles on different fingers so I pull back and say it hurts, he pulls my finger back and gets annoyed that I'm in pain! Not once, but the 3 times I've visited this place. He doesn't speak English and seems annoyed every time he does my nails. I went yesterday for the last time. He cut 3 of my cuticles, pressed on the cut with his bare dirty hands and yanked my finger closer so he could finish. He was rude when I went to pay, snatched the money out of my hand, shorted me $10 and when I asked he said oh and handed me the $10. I said thank you and didn't acknowledge me at all. Never will I come back to this unsanitary salon. There are far too many salons to come back here to get treated like trash. You guys suck at customer service. Shame on you. read more

I can't explain how rude my visit was to Tammy's nail salon. One woman constantly kept hassling me to pick colors she thought was right for my skin tone, very hard to choose a color I wanted. The pedicure was not done so well. Another woman started on my nails asking do I want one nail different from the others, because "you people" as she put it like different nail colors on nails. When I asked by you people she replied " people your color." Not going back at all. read more

This place was under new ownership so my wife and I came and tried out. Very calm, relaxing place with an affordable price. I got pedicure for my dry feet and Tee was amazing. Definitely a hidden gem in Metairie, will come back. read more

I recently moved on the West Bank and decided to go to a nail shop closer within 3 days my gel polish begin to chip .. that has never happened to me at Athena my gel usually last 3weeks probably longer but of course i need them redone lol.. long story short ..i live in Gretna and i will continue driving to metarie to get my nails done here . read more

Love this place and the staff . Their professionalism and cleanliness is what keeps me coming back. It's been a few months now and I won't go to anyone else . They care about you and your nail health . They offer multiple services with a great calm environment. And best of all they have a great selection of nails colors. All of the techs seemed pleasant. The gentleman who did my manicure was very polite & asked several times throughout the process if I was ok with how my nails looked. They also give a punch card for a free pedi after your 9th visit. There's only two things I personally think they could improve on (although I've encountered this at most salons so it's not a deal breaker). One being they should finalize the tab "after" nails have dried. While I tip my nail techs 20%, I personally do not feel obligated to do such if I'm not satisfied with the final product. Luckily the end results would've yielded a tip so it wasn't a problem. The other being that they consistently spoke & laughed with each other in their native language. I'm not concerned with whether or not they were speaking negatively about clients. It's just rude in general, especially in a professional setting. I equate it to a group who speaks the same language & two of them whispering amongst themselves. It's just distasteful & inconsiderate of others in my opinion. I personally don't care so I will be back; however, if this is something that's a deal breaker for you stay away (good luck finding an Asian owned salon that doesn't practice this though, lol). Now I only gave 3 stars, because I give 4 or 5 stars if the services are beyond the norm. The services are pretty much the same you'd get at any other salon. All in all I don't feel you'll be dissatisfied with the end results just don't expect anything noteworthy. To be redundant, it's good enough for me to come back just not anything to rant about or per se "the best manicure ever". read more

I'll just go off of my opinion about Tammy's nails but I think she did a good job on my nails ... I got the gel nail manicure, the total was $35+ her tip and this has been the best gel manicure I have gotten. A lot of other places the gel will start peeling a week after and my nails have been going on 2 weeks strong and they still look pretty good. There wasn't much of a wait when I went and I had no appointment , I went at 6 and they close for 7 (didn't mean to be one of those but my nails were awful from my previous manicure I couldn't go a day longer). As for their customer service they weren't rude or anything, they didn't talk much it was pretty quiet, I don't really go for conversation anyway I go for relaxation so I didn't mind it. I will probably be back again pushing my luck to get another nice ass manicure. read more

I'm from Oregon and moved to Louisiana with my husband and 3 sons 4 years ago as he is in the USCG. Took me 2 years to find a nail solan that was good. Not only did I find a good one I FOUND THE BEST!!! This place is like a 2nd home to me! Being a military family we will be leaving in month !!! I'm heartbroken to leave these amazing people! This place deserves 0 stars and should be closed! I have stage 4 Breast Cancer and came to get my nails done extra special for breast cancer awareness month. I went this day because it would be the last time I would be able to get gel nails due to my next round of chemo. The manager of the salon sat my friends and I down at the nail bar. My friend knew what she wanted and was taken care of by a sweet young lady. I on the other hand wanted special designs and it took me awhile to decide on colors/designs. Two different individuals came up to me while I was looking and rudely asked if I was "done" then continued working on other customers. When my friends nails were finished, we asked who would be doing my nails, and the response was not what else expected. We were told that I took too long to decide and that I would have to come back tomorrow. There was absolutely no customer service skills involved with any encounter that happened with me in this nail salon. read more
