First things first. Service is phenomenal. Waitress was incredibly knowledgeable, attentive and ON POINT. Greek salad was fresh, crispy, and so damn good. I added fries and falafel. Fries are your typical thing. Falafel are light and airy. Not your packed tight hockey pucks. The Tzatziki is a miss. Not my fav. Missing that authentic flavor. Closer to a sour cream thing. Ordered the Gyro open plate and since it did not come with Fries, I ordered a side at $3.50. I explained to the server that I did not want ketchup for my fries but preferred a bit of mayo. Server said no problem. The meal was good, but a little overpriced. When I received my check, I noticed an additional .99 charge with a description for Tzatziki sauce. I asked the server why the charge because the sauce comes with the plate. She said that was for the 1oz. of mayo I requested for my fries. I was a little miffed and told her this is exactly why restaurants suffer when they nickel and dime every meal. She went totally nuts on me yelling that nothing comes out of the kitchen without a charge?? She proceeded to the front and shared her story very loudly with the front staff. I got up and quietly paid my check of $18 (no beverage, had water) and left. Will definitely not be going back! read more

Eat Greek Once a Week seems like a good slogan here. So...the gyros and souvlaki are great here, but I love the deeper cuts on the menu. The hummus trio with the fiery feta dip is fantastic. And the fiery dip really is hot, but delicious. The Baclava is terrific too, but my top pic is the moussaka. It's the apex of Greek comfort food in my opinion. The ambiance is nice without being fancy and the drive through is fast and efficient. Pro tip: when getting gyros to go, ask for the tzatziki on the side then put it on your gyro when you get home. It keeps the pita from getting soggy. read more

Tried for the first based on a recommendation from a co-worker. Got the Greek salad and it was loaded with cheese (a good thing) and the dressing was excellent. Looking to back and try the gyros, hummus and some of the other dishes folks have listed here. The place itself is simple inside, nothing fancy. I drove across town to get their gyro plate. I got home with it and the sauce was water. I called and the guy that answered sounded stoned and asked what I wanted him to do about it. It's not gourmet but it's incredibly tasty and one of our favorite restaurants. I highly recommend the feisty feta. Good food but I've had better Greek food. Tonight I got a grilled chicken gyro and the meat was awful. It literally tasted and felt like overcooked, rubbery, fake chicken with fake smoked flavor added. Inedible. My husband , who never wants to give a bad review, even thought it was inedible. They have REAL gyros, not like the fake A×××'s gyros, and a full menu of authentic greek dishes, but you may have to ask for help with the menu, such as pronunciation and what it is. Random, little place in smalltown Ohio, this restaurant is actually located in what appears to be an old house. Honestly, this place is nothing to write home about (and I'm not sure why I'm even writing a Yelp! review about it), but they served up a decent gyro. Maybe I was just happy to see my gyro meat actually sliced off of a spit, as opposed to those pre-formed, frozen slices that I'm used to in Detroit. While the gyro was pretty good, the hummus was pretty bad and the fries may have been the worst I've ever had, so do yourself a favor and don't waste the extra $2 to add them to your meal (add the extra meat to your gyro instead!). If you are unfortunate enough to be stuck in Mansfield, you can no doubt do worse than Athen's Greek. read more

I ordered a Greek platter. It came w/ soup, salad, lamb shank, moussaka & Greek potatoes. Honestly, the 'chicken & rice soup' looked like vomit, I passed. My best guess is that it has been thawed & re-heated. No broth. The Greek salad was awful. They use iceberg lettuce, olives w/ pits & the 'homemade dressing' looked like wallpaper paste. The salt & pepper shakers were not clean. The oil & vinegar bottles were sticky w/ residue (ewww). The lamb shank was 'ok' & moussaka was also 'ok'. Not worth the time, effort or money. Also, the waitress called me 'honey' w/ a condescending tone. (I'm certainly twice her age) & there was no attempt to appease my dislikes. SAVE YOUR MONEY. I SHOULD HAVE GONE TO OUTBACK. read more

Best gyro in town! They make a feisty feta spread that is to die for! It has a bit of a kick so I would only order if you enjoy spicy. The owner is always playful and provides fun humor when engaged. The downtown location is the original restaurant but the Lexington Springmill Road location is just as good, if not better! Both locations are speedy and efficient. read more

I'm sure this place is awesome but I wouldn't be able to tell you about it, which bums me out. Came in at 7pm, waited til around 7:15 to be asked what we'd like to order, waitress brought my drink out, no straw. I waited for her to walk by again, asked her for the straw and waited another 5 minutes just to get that. I ordered a grilled chicken gyro, and my girlfriend ordered a lamb gyro with no onion and fries. Around 7:30 the waitress tells us it will be a few minutes because they did a catering service today, but I kept seeing people that came in after us getting big plates of food served to them. Finally at 7:45 the waitress brings out two plates with gyros to us and some cold fries. I opened mine up, it was beef when I ordered grilled chicken, and low and behold my girlfriend's was the same...with onions even though she ordered none. So I waited around for the waitress to come back, when she did I told her our orders were incorrect, and she took them back. It's already 8pm at this point and still no gyros. Gyros dont take this long to cook and serve especially with customers getting their meals after we had been there for 45 minutes. At 8:15 I decided to just leave, I went to the counter, paid for the cold fries, and tried to visit their other location in Mansfield but they were closed by the time I got there. Great little place, as good as I've had anywhere. Super Gyro was almost too much to handle... But I "suffered" through it. Small Greek salad was fresh and just the right size. We also got the ultimate sampler platter (think "a little bit of everything") and it was also awesome. 4 people, $40 and everyone left more than satisfied. read more
