Someone recommended this sandwich shop to us while we were in town. I really enjoyed this place! We came around lunch time on a Thursday and were able to park on the side street for free. It was busy at lunch time but we were able to get a seat. Not very many seats in the place. The workers were friendly and able to explain the menu for us. There were so many options to build a sandwich! I loved the one I got. It was warm and the pesto Mayo was delicious. I also loved the basil focaccia! I should've gotten a pick two and tried a soup! Wow, what a find! We were just looking for a place to eat and unfamiliar with the area and this nice lunch spot hit all the right boxes. Situated near the hospital in a remodeled old building, this cute little place offers up soups, salads and yummy sandwiches. We were a party of 5 and everyone loved the food. The sandwiches were sized reasonably and served with a bag of chips. I would have been good with just that, but we tried the soup too. Lobster bisque and potato bacon were both extremely flavorful and we all shared. Cookies were a nice addition even though we didn't need them. We talked with the owner for a bit afterwards and she shared some stories of the building and the area. I've worked in Mansfield for about a month and I've been to Doc's Deli at least three times now. I don't think I've ever had a bad meal here. All the sandwiches I've gotten have been delicious and hit the spot. I appreciate the small outdoor seating area, and the sign that masks are encouraged. Parking can be kind of difficult, you have to park alongside the street. Nevertheless this won't stop me from coming back! read more

Doc's Deli is another interesting find. It's located in Mansfield away from the downtown area. The building looks like a converted house. As such, they have no parking lot, and inside can be a tight fit. They usually aren't that busy even at lunch. As there's no parking lot, you have to find it on the street or walk from the downtown area. It usually has room on the street because it's not extremely busy. The inside is small so they can't hold that many people at a time. It still has a surprisingly big menu. There's a bunch of listed sandwiches, or you can make it your own way. I had the Far Left. This is about $8 and comes with baba ghannouch, eggplant, and peppers. It was not big but it was filling. They also have various pasta salads. It might be hard finding this place as it blends into houses. It's located across from the hospital. There's a few other places to park on side streets. read more

I was en route between Indianapolis and Cleveland and wanted something local and on the healthy side to fuel the rest of the journey. Doc's Deli offered a fun lineup of soups, sandwiches and salads. In the soup department, they had red pepper Gouda, black Bean and white chicken Chili available. I opted for the white chicken chili and the Tuscan turkey sandwich (pesto, ciabatta, cheese, turkey, tomato, etc). The soup was quite flavorful and I loved the addition of corn. The sandwich was a little heavy on the mayo/creamy elements for my liking but overall tasty. The space was simple and parking on the street was easy to find. The staff was friendly and our meal was made in about ten minutes. Soda, bottled water and iced tea were available in the fridge across from the ordering counter. read more

They have these awesome looking space-saving tables, a free water dispenser thats totally chill, and not only are the walls painted in those soothing hospital neutral colors, but the staff is dressed in scrubs! Since the restaurant is located just across the street from the hospital- I spent a good deal of time wondering whether or not there was an actual connection between the two! (Apparently i really bought their hospital theme!!! hahahaha) The first thing you do when you get into Doc's Deli is get a Sandwich form to fill out... because the totally amazing thing about Doc's is that you can create and name your own sandwich or salad which they then permanently add to their database !!!! (watch out for my sandwich: the mean MR mustard!!) They have an EXTENSIVE choice of ingredients that includes a large list of amazing sauces and dressings in addition to all the great veggies, fruits, cheeses, breads, and meat selection. And if you're feeling less inspired, don't worry- Doc also knows all the recipes for traditional sandwiches! (Beware: although $5.79 for a custom-made sandwich sounds pretty good to me, its damn easy to go well above that price as you continue to add yummy extras to your sandwich!) They also offer a small value menu, a new breakfast menu, assorted desserts, great soup options (my favorite was the Roasted Red Pepper Gouda Bisque!), and a prepared list of recommended salads and sandwiches. They are always mixing this list up and adding to it new sandwiches that were created by their costumers - so next time you visit the deli you might just see your sandwich advertised on the wall! Walking in, the restaurant surprised me. The atmosphere is very casual but still slight modern with interesting and fun chairs that push all the way into the rounded square wooden tables. I ordered the Unlikely Tuscan sandwich, a turkey panini. It wasn't as hot as I would have liked. I think if the sandwich had been pressed for a bit longer it would have turned out better. It was still nice, and made to order, as are all of their sandwiches. The sandwiches come on many different kinds of bread, including Focaccia, rye, pretzel, flat, croissant, etc. I also ordered the roasted red pepper bisque, and it was the highlight of the meal. A coworker and I meet once a month at a location between Columbus and Cleveland. This month took us to Doc's Deli. What a GREAT place. I had the Grilled Corned Beef and he had he had the Boba Fett. Mine was very good, moist and hot. His was so good he ordered a second one. I opted to go back for the Roasted Red Pepper soup and some of the Broccoli Salad. My only regret was I had the small Broccoli Salad instead of the larger one. The only problem was trying to find a parking spot since it is in a residential neighborhood. I understand the hospital (which is across the street and thus the name) is building a parking garage so this should be eliminated. But the extra time to find a place to park is well worth it.
