The staff is so friendly at this location. They are super knowledgeable about the products and are not pushy to make a sale. They give honest feedback and are so helpful. Amazing personalized shopping experience by Sandra. We usually do our shopping online but decided to go in person to the store to check out the styles in person and the fitting. We came Sunday 7/31/22 at 12 noon. We were so glad to have come in!!! Beats any online shopping experience. Sandra prepared a dressing room and helped us add different clothing items in different sizes/colors. She stopped by our dressing room numerous times to check in with us- got different colors and sizes of stuff we tried out. Ultimately we must've tried out 20 plus item and eventually purchased 10 items. Sandra was so genuine and cheerful to our baby. She normally works as teacher for pre-K/kindergarten, speech language pathologist by training-- and her expertise with being helpful and kind shines through. Besides Sandra and the shopping experience. We usually find it difficult to find clothing we like and fit. This place is our jam!!! Lululemon is next door- but their holier than thou experience we had was a complete turnoff. We didn't even stop by Lululemon because this place is way better in clothing, quality, fitting and service. Jordan the general manager was helpful to Sandra- although a bit stern in the beginning- but gave us a few smiles at the end. Couldn't be happier to find clothing at this store. As a couple of other reviewers have said, the staff at this location are snotty and rude. I'm local so the first time that I came here was for a return to then rebuy since a few of the items that I purchased went on sale literally a few days after. In this transaction, the cashier handed me an item that I didn't realize went on sale for only a few cents less than what I paid and condescendingly told me the amount of cents that I saved. And while something like that would have warranted a rebuke, I chalked it up to a bad day or a bad egg. But today I visited again to bring in a few items for return that I washed (hello, COVID), but never wore plus an item that similarly went on sale right after I purchased it so I purchased it again and had my original to return... The associate that interacted with me was extremely snotty and gave me a hard time, claiming that the return policy changed to 60 days and is only valid for issues related to workouts. Ok, A. I'd like to know how does that work for your commute line, B. as someone that worked at Athleta, I know that this isn't "best practices" of this company, and C. it's absolute bullshit as I've never had an issue with a return A YEAR later. The associate offered me store credit for the two items that were out of the 60 day window. It was a rip off and horrible service, but I just didn't want the shirts and can apply the store credit towards an item that makes me happier since I shop Athleta a lot. I ended up at this store when the employees at Lululemon ignored me when I was looking for leggings. I selected a pair of Rainier Tights. An employee asked me if I needed help while I was looking at the sale section. She also explained to me that the Rainier Tights were light weight but has a fleece lining. I ended up paying $101 for the leggings at full price. I usually don't pay full price for clothes but since the sales woman convinced me that I was getting a durable product for winter, I went straight to the register and bought it. read more

I'm a workout junkie. I'm also not teeny tiny which means you have to find the right stretchy pants to not show your tush. I am a big Lululemon fan but Athleta has started to gain my number one spot for athletic wear. Sometimes the prices are ridiculous on something you pick up. Sometimes you can catch a good sale. I enjoy at least having that option. This store is pretty big and well stocked. I haven't worked with the staff much but they seem attentive. It gets a little busy sometimes but that's the Americana for you. All in all good find and I'm hooked :) read more

I shop at Athleta all the time. I live in Queens and work in Manhattan and thus have pretty much been to all the Manhattan locations, and it pains me that sometimes I have no choice but to go to this LI location on the weekends. The staff here are snotty and are only attentive and friendly to you if you are a white woman from LI. I have never experienced such abysmal customer service or felt unwelcome at any of the Manhattan locations. If you are not a white woman, do yourself a huge favor and avoid this location at all costs - the staff here believes in "The Power of She - If You Are White, That Is." read more
