The Physical Therapists have been great during my mother's stroke recovery, however the scheduling has been horrendous. Her appointments have been cancelled multiple times because they're not great at managing the schedules. The schedulers at the front desk are also not helpful. It's a shame that my mother's stroke recovery is impacted by the incompetence of the scheduling staff. read more

The owner, Steven Clark and partner, Jasmine Martin, are good listeners, have good intuition and has always formed an excellent program for recovery for myself, my wife and our 2 student/athlete children. Unlike other PT practices which always seems to "mow, blow and go" with ultrasound, a warm towel, some stretching, etc the team at Athletic spends careful time at each appointment and offer serious, challenging therapeutic exercises and activities that admittedly might be uncomfortable but are worth the effort! This place saved my shoulder and and my soul :) I came here as the last resort to fix my shoulder which went through rotator cuff surgery and disappointing mediocre PT for year and a half earlier with another place which at the end they said they did what they could and my shoulder is no longer fixable. I came to APT with lost hope but determined to get better. Dr.Jerry and Calvin really fixed my shoulder in 5 months of carefully structured PT. They both were very knowledgeable and put me through a program that was pushing my boundaries of pain yet making sure we are getting a positive progress. They measured mobility and strength every month making sure we were on the right track. I am forever grateful for the work they did on me. I went to Athletic PT Westlake 3x per week for the last 4 months to recover from hamstring surgery (I tore all 3 hamstrings in a ski fall). I worked with Julie every session and she was beyond amazing. Also Paula helped me so much. They helped me progress from careful gentle exercises to avoid reinjury, they guided me in what to do (and what not to do) in my daily gym workouts. I followed their advice and they built my legs back I truly believe stronger than ever before. I am 62 and before my injury I lifted weights daily so I was in good shape- but now after all their care and help, I feel I am fully healed and can do most anything, and I will be skiing this winter. Our last session today (I graduated haha) was hardcore leg weight lifting exercises like barbell squats, deadlifts, RDLs, hamstring curls and quad extensions and they helped me greatly improve my form to very safe level- amazing!!! I'm back - and I'm most grateful to the team at athletic PT, and especially Julie and Paula, for their true caring and expertise guiding my full recovery. Truly an exceptional team and facility. I cannot say enough about this place. I was in great pain. I was not given hope prior and now I feel great and have a complete program with one on one training. Back in November, I had surgery to repair a torn rotator cuff and labrum, and was referred to Steve and his team at the end of December. This was my first time doing PT, but I doubt it could have gone any better. I went 3 days/week whenever I could, and at each of my check-ups with my doctor, he was amazed at how fast I'd progressed. After the first few weeks, I mostly worked with Michael, and he did a great job of pushing and encouraging me, and in the 2 months or so that I went, I never had any setbacks that prevented me from coming in for the next appointment, which is something I'd been warned about by others that had the surgery as well. Everyone there was very friendly and nice, and if I ever need PT again in the future, I wouldn't think twice about going back to them. read more

The caring doctor Erica and staff at Athletic Physical Therapy in WLV took excellent care of my 13 year old son. He was having back pain after years of competitive basketball. They worked with him to increase the strength of his core and back muscles, and then taught him a stretching regimen. I was happily surprised at how quickly their approach yielded results. I'm an older, quite physically fit male. A few weeks ago I badly injured my shoulder at the gym. My primary care doctor recommended several PT's. I asked him if he had personally used any of them and he said he used and liked Athletic Physical Therapy. I've just finished 17 sessions and the shoulder is much better although not completely back to normal. Dr. Steve has been terrific. He explained what my injury involved and told me what they would do to restore my ability to go back to the gym regularly. Both Dr. Steve and my Trainer, Stephen, have been wonderful guiding me through various exercises and explaining the purpose of each. Even Angela at the front desk is genuinely welcoming and accommodating in working out my preferred timing of my visits. I highly recommend Athletic Physical Therapy. I have experienced surgery on my back several times over the past three (3) years. During that time I have utilized various Physical Therapy (PT) organizations as part of my overall medical care. However, my comparison of the various PT organizations I have employed in the past did not achieve the A+ rating that Westlake Athletic Physical Therapy received from me. I've been to a least 1/2 dozen different physical therapists since I moved here 8 years ago This place is so much better that Anthem Mediblue Plus comparison Is impossible. David and his staff are the most knowledgeable and professional therapists I've ever seen. I have several issues, shoulder and back but I'm basically fit. They adjust each exercise for me personally. It's like having a doctor and personal trainer all in one. The area is spotless and has more equipment I've experienced. I've never see Pilates equipment at a pt before. I am a longtime patient - a "super-senior" of PT if you will - because of chronic problems with my feet/multiple surgeries. But Steve and Anthony have helped me so much. In the year or so I've been with them I've gone from relying on a cane for most walking to doing short jogs - something I never dreamed of doing again. They will certainly not go easy on you and will tell you like it is, but that is what some of us folks need who are in it for the long haul. But I can't thank them enough. Definitely recommend if you have an ongoing issue and need someone to personalize therapy for your condition. Adding flexibility and strengthening and dynamic training to the more typical scar mobilization and stretching and resistance band stuff. They've helped me on the road to getting back on my feet. read more

First let me say that everyone here is very nice and polite and respectful so I feel a bit bad writing this review but my review is not of how nice they are but the treatment I received. The Doctor has requested certain things be done like ultrasound and electrical stimulation amongst other things. However they did neither even after I asked at the end of one visit and they said they would next time but never did Also Erica is clearly the star there with the experience but I would get her attention for the first few minutes then handed to another very nice person who was maybe in their early twenties and clearly very little experience. So overall it was not satisfying or a good experience for me and I opted to switch to a different location which was much more well equipped, performed the prescribed treatments, and had an overall more experienced staff read more

Dr. Steve Clark is the best there is. I had an injury where my abdomen had been severely torn and Dr. Clark has been extremely helpful and knowledgeable. Also, Steven (working front desk and assisting with exercises and PT) is the best associate I've worked with. I'm a collegiate athlete and am amazed by his level of detail. I have used Athletic Physical Therapy on three separate occasions over the last five years (not that I am injury-prone!) and, despite evolution of staff, have found them to be incredibly professional, competent and effective. So, whether ankle, knee or shoulder rehab, they are the best I've ever found. I have also been a continuous participant for four years in Athletic PT's Pilates program, which is truly exceptional. (How many Pilates programs do you know of which are overseen by Doctors of Physical Therapy?) I began the Pilates program there to re-balance my body after being off of my right leg for 4 months following a bad ankle injury. Not only did Athletic PT's Pilates program bring back the strength in my right side, it actually changed my life. Ask for Barbara. (Core, baby!) I am very active and sometimes push a little too hard. It is comforting to know that Steve Clark, Megan and the rest of the PT docs at Athletic PT will quickly get me back in the game - and will educate me on how to balance and avoid future injury. Worst exp ever with athletic physical therapy I not sure if they are a training facility for PTs as I have had a lot of knee and back surgeries and work. Major gripes about the place: the encino location is so incredibly unprofessional even down to the conversations discussed amongst the clients and therapists in the open workout room. They are great on the phone and pretend to have lots of open availability untilI you shortly after your visit when their schedule becomes "busy" ( i was free any day of the week after 12pm) it was ridiculous. I requested a call back from the owner regarding multiple issues with logistics and therapists professionalism . The owner Scott, called me back one time I was at work. He left no number and promised a call later. Never heard back. I will never recommend or use athletic physical therapy locations. read more

Steve's a knowledgeable PT and knows when we should push it and also when not to. I tore my rotator cuff pretty badly several months ago, and truly thought I would never have use of my arm again. However, before and after my surgery, I went to Athletic Physical Therapy in Westlake Village, and now I have almost full use of my arm again. I still have about a month of therapy to go, but my progress has been stunning. Shoulder injuries like mine are very slow to heal, and you have to be patient. Great small facility and friendly staff that make you feel comfortable whether you are an uber athlete recovering from an injury or an older person with chronic issues. Being the latter type of patient, it was the welcoming attitude of Ron and Megan that made me chose this facility over the many others in the area. For several months, I have been receiving treatments for chronic neck and shoulder pain from Megan who holds a doctorate in physical therapy. I found Megan to be knowledgable, encouraging, gentle and intuitive who thru a series of treatments has helped me to finally make progress! She cares about your recovery and it shows. I can also highly recommend Ron who I worked with a few times. The facility also provides pilates with a great thoughtful instructor, Barbara, that complements the therapy provided.
