This dentist is the best!! I had a sore tooth with a crown on it with a cavity, which could have been extremely serious. He took me in right away and found that I did not have to have a root canal or have my tooth pulled after he removed the old crown. The took care of the cavity and put on a new crown and I was able to miss a minimal amount of work time! Their office staff are extremely professional and went out of their way to help me when we found out that Fallon Medicare refused to cover them because their dental services were taken over by Dentiquest which refused to cover my dentist without having them reapply to be accepted. Both Athol Dental Associates were never informed of this. Fallon Medicare finally found me a dentist in Worcester that had about a 1 star rating. I was not going to go to them. Luckily I had minimal dental coverage through my employer which covered a significant portion of the cost. I can't tell you how much time and energy their staff put into helping me get this all taken care of. I'll never go to anyone else!! read more

I went in 2 months ago because of a broken crown. I waited 1 month for supposedly a kit to fix my crown. I got a phone call and email confirming the appointment. I got there and no one knew I was coming. The dentist put in a temporary filling instead it didn't last 3 hrs. They charged me $110 dollars. Then I had an appointment for a dental cleaning. I recently had a knee replacement. My primary care doctor cleared me to have dental procedures. Gave me an antibiotic to take before the procedure. Athol dental called where I had the surgery to see if I could have the cleaning instead for contacting my primary. They expected me to sit there and wait for confirmation. If they were so concerned, why wasn't that done before my appointment? The hygienist was in and out of the room 6 times. Then I was told we had to wait for the sensor for the X-rays. That took 10 minutes. Then another worker brought in the sensor with a gloved hand in between 2 fingers. It looked like it was dripping. If that wasn't enough to scare you, it should. I got up and left told them the place was horrible. If you are smart don't go there. Sensors should be in each room dedicate. Expecting you to wait over a half hour for a cleaning is unreasonable in the room. Definitely don't recommend read more

As far as a dental office goes, the place looks clean and they have good equipment. The staff seems friendly enough but the work is very inconsistent. One time I feel like the cleaning went well, then the next all I can do is keep complaining about the service. Of course it is never the same person doing the cleaning and the doctor walks in at the end, reads the xrays then walks out- which I found to be dismissive since I still had questions read more

We never have to wait long in the office for our appointments and the hygienists are friendly and informative. The kids like the office and the dental work we've had done has been done well. The office is also good about accommodating work schedules (open on Saturdays!) and rescheduling if necessary. read more

Went in for my first cleaning today and am glad I ended up going here. I figured I was just lucky to find a dentist's office that took MassHealth! The cleaning was impressively gentle and the hygienist answered all my questions (with a happy attitude even). They also have a "preferred name" option in the entry paperwork, which surprised me. I'm trans and haven't legally changed my name or gender yet, so this was very helpful. And they used the name I gave seamlessly from the moment they came to get me in the waiting room and without any comment, all of which is incredibly unusual. read more

When i have an appointment they always call to confirm the appointment.The cleaning is better than anywhere ive ever gone to before.They make sure i am well covered when taking xrays since i am pregnant.I even recommended a few people to the athol dental and will also keep telling people and family my experiences since they were all great ones.Overall i give thanks to the athol dental for making me feel so welcomed and happy about my smile! read more
