ATL West Deck Parking Garage made airport parking incredibly convenient. Reserving a parking spot online was quick and easy, allowing us to secure parking for the exact dates and times of our trip. One of the best features is that the garage is located away from the busy airport traffic, making arrival and departure much less stressful. Even though it's a little removed from the terminals, the airport train provides a quick and convenient ride directly from the garage to the airport. I guess this is as good of a parking lot as you can get around here. ATL West had some pretty big plusses: + The lighted parking indicators really help you find a spot fast + It's not that crowded (although the new $30/day price tag probably has something to do with that). + Parking is covered Now the big negatives: - They don't use tickets and leaving can be horrible if the tech malfunctions. I had to sit there for an embarrassingly long time holding everyone up because it couldn't read my license plate properly or some crap. An attendant had to come by and override some things. - Plane train isn't fun when it's overcrowded. They can add more train cars to than what they're using (judging by the number of available doors) but they don't when there are big crowds. Maybe that's only just for big travel days like around Thanksgiving or Christmas, or back when this lot used to be cheap and popular, who knows... - The price went up...AGAIN. - Thieves were breaking into cars in this lot, but to be fair, they were also breaking into cars in all the other lots. I don't know if the emptier state of this parking lot is a good or bad thing. Haven't been hit personally, but it's getting to the point where taking an hour long rideshare is going to be very comparable to staying at the lot for more than 3 days. read more

With the continued improvements/construction at ATL, parking can be a very stressful situation. A work colleague swore by the ATL West parking garage, and now that I've done it myself, I won't willingly pick any other parking option. Getting from the deck to the main terminal is a breeze, and I would take a train over a bus any day of the week. The trains run with frequency. Make sure to park somewhat near the elevators that take you to the train, otherwise you could be in for a long walk. The only thing preventing me from giving this a 5 star review is that you're not always able to reserve a spot in advance from the website... that doesn't mean there isn't parking available, so you have to roll the dice, but each time this has happened there's always been a spot. read more

We parked here as we would be driving back from our trip in a rental car so wanted to return it and get right in our car afterwards. This parking deck is owned by the airport and is on the tram line that goes to the rental car station. You can make a reservation ahead of time or just pull up, but I think it is slightly more to make a reservation. When we pulled up, there were plenty of spots, and everything was modern. Let's start with the fact that you don't have to get a ticket a worry about losing it. The gate automatically scans your license plate. Each floor has a screen telling you how many spots are open and each spot has a green or red light so you can easily spot one. We parked on the 4th floor as that is where the tram picks up. We got a spot right where you go up the escalators to the tram. It was perfect! Coming back was easy as you jus find a pay booth, type in your license plate number (so have that handy) and it finds your car and you pay, then drive right out! read more

Overall it is very convenient and fast especially if you plan on using the Plane Train! I will say though their license plate readers are hit or miss so just be prepared to have a hard time exiting as the whole process is automated. read more

DO NOT PARK HERE. I've been parking at the West Deck since it opened and park there frequently. On the last three visits I've experienced license plate reader errors resulting in large incorrect charges. Some of these issues are related to the Peachpass automatic changes after incorrectly calculating my days parked. On another visit the reader didn't find my prepaid reservation and charged my Peachpass. The onsite manager said they can't fix the issues and customer support needs to be contacted. Customer support is only an email address and they have been non-responsive. I finally had to get AMEX to provide a credit for one dispute and still haven't resolved one of the overcharges. I would love to hear what other people have experienced. This is one of the worst customer service experiences I've ever had!! read more

Trains don't run at regular times. Signage is extremely poor. Not a single sign in the Airport directing you to ATL West. There are currently 50-75 of us standing in the station, with no A/C, while we wait for a train that may not even be coming. Will never park here again. read more

Do I prefer parking in an airport lot? yes, yes I do. am I glad that ATL West is there to pick up the slack? also yes. greatly appreciated the covered parking because it was raining on departure day, and the shuttle picked us up very quickly. driver was super nice too. I guess my only criticism is that it's a pain to pick up shuttles after arriving back to ATL. we got lucky this last trip as we were the first to be dropped off. no clue what Hartsfield is doing with its parking situation, which is an unmitigated disaster and inflicts constant frustration on departing-ATL residents. still, ATL West is a good option (and cheaper). read more

I absolutely love Atl West Parking. I started going there because the other airport parking was always full. This parking is great because I don't have to take a shuttle to the airport and when it's raining I won't get wet. There are multiple levels and this place is huge, so be sure to take a picture of your card location. The signs are on the walls. There is a lot of amazing technology going on here. When you arrive, there's no need to take a ticket or in my case lose a ticket. It's so hard keeping up with tickets when you travel for days and just want to get to your car and go home. So ticketless entry, your tag is scanned and that is how you check out. Once inside, a board will show you how many parking spots are on each level. And there are green lights indicating where the empty spots are. As well as red lights indicating occupied spots. If you have an electric car, there are parking spots with chargers. Once you leave your car, you will head to the 4th level if you are not already there.; this is where you go to jump on the sky train (not to be confused with the plane train inside the airport). The Skytrain will take you to the airport, rental car area and the airport hotels. Once you get off the Sky train, look up to see which direction you need to go for your airline, Delta is to the left and all others are to the right. When you return back to get your car, you can either pay at a kiosk in the parking lot, pay on the app or pay at the exit; all you need is your tag number. read more

There are 3 aspects of the parking ramp that make it great: 1) No ticket involved; cameras record the day & time of entry of your license plate. 2) Every space has an easily visible overhead light in the aisle indicating whether it is vacant (green) or occupied); so no more driving up and down aisles to find a space. 3) Very convenient SkyTrain access that drops you at the west entrance of the Domestic Terminal. Also, the ramp is cheaper than the main parking ramp. read more

I used ATL West for the first time back in May. The South Economy lot was closed (or was full due to some other lot/deck being closed) so I got diverted here by signs. At least I made my flight. In July, armed with the knowledge from my initial experience, I made a reservation online and planned to park at ATL West. Pros: - with 7 levels, you can probably find a parking spot that is shaded so your car will be slightly less oven-like when you return. - you don't have to venture as far into the airport complex to reach this deck vs. Economy lots. - the train that serves the deck delivers you just outside the main airport terminal. Cons: - I'm not thrilled with the payment method. They scan your license plate upon entry. Then they never make it clear that you will be charged via your Peach Pass (if you have one) or (I guess) you enter your plate # in a kiosk before you leave. I tried the kiosk thing and got rejected at first and didn't know why. It was really confusing. - you are reliant on the train to get you to the terminal. I'm sure it is mostly reliable, but at the Economy lot, you rely only on your feet. I'd prefer that. - this lot may (normally) be $2 / day more expensive than the Economy lot. I'm not sure if that applies if you reserve, etc. If every lot was open and accessible, I'd probably go back to the Economy lot. You probably end up walking about the same # of steps either way by the time you hike to the station area where the deck's train picks you up. read more

Very easy, no tickets to hang on to. Everything is digital/electronic. You post by plate and if you forget where you parked- you can put your plate in the machine and it'll tell you where it's located. It is $16/day which is $2 more than economy but it is garaged so you don't have to worry about the elements. read more

Terrible! Be fearful!! I parked in the "New WEST lot" where you would think there would be cameras everywhere. Well guess not or customer service just doesn't want to help. I had my gas siphoned for my tank during a long weekend stay. Unreal right!! I have a tank that doesn't have a lock on it. What's even more infuriating is customer service lack of wanting to help me. I reached out to them at least eight times, supplied all the information, down to my parking spot/date/time). I called and got the same response, "we will have someone look into it." Emailed and got the typical generic email response. I don't like to leave negative reviews, but come on ATL Parking... you can't assist!!! I would think twice about parking in this lot. read more

Parked at ATL West many times and always a pretty good experience. However, landed at the airport last night and discovered the train that takes you to the ATL West parking deck was not running. It took an hour before I could finally get a shuttle. There was no one to assist, people were yelling at each other, standing around in the cold trying to figure out how to get to the parking deck....total chaos! After finally getting stuffed into a shuttle with my luggage in my lap, I was dropped off at a hotel "in the vicinity" of the ATL West deck. I just had to walk and find the deck myself. It was about 36 degrees. Disgraceful organization and the people in charge of this should be ashamed! But...they got my money so I guess they are happy! read more

I prefer this lot over the two short term lots (North and South) lots. The North and South lots have stalls that are crammed together and it's the old fashioned way of finding a spot, circling around and around. The ATL West lot has digital signs when you enter, letting you know how many stalls are open on each floor. There are green and red lights above the stalls, which helps you clearly identify a open spot. There are no tickets when you enter, there is a fancy digital plate recognizing system. The kiosk finds your vehicle by plate when it's time to pay. Getting to the terminal is also easy, walk across the breeze way on Floor 4 to the Sky Train. It's a quick ride over to the terminal. The only thing that I do not like.. the kiosks that they encourage you to pay at are often out of receipt paper or does not print a receipt. I've had to hunt the attendant down a few times to get a handwritten receipt. read more

This place is a complete failure. We were grid locked up to the 6th floor trying to exit for almost 30 minutes with absolutely no movement. Went to talk to the office and they said claimed it was normal. They needed someone to direct traffic but they didn't. Please hire new employees and improve your customer service. read more

Not pleased with their policy of no refunds for unused parking time nor the extremely long distance to walk from the car to the train then from the train to the ticketing area at the terminal. We had to cut the trip short by a few days but they only offer refunds on unused parking due to medical emergencies and then they require documentation to that effect. Since we had prepaid for X days but only stayed X-3 days(and you know when we left), I would have expected a refund for those unused 3 days. When I asked about a credit, they said their policy does not allow refunds for late arrivals or early departures except for medical reasons. To me, this is straight up corporate greed. It does not cost you any more if I leave early! I do NOT recommend using ATL West unless you are ok with possibly losing money. read more

And then when you speak the the person at the ticket booth, 2 supervisors and a Manager they act like your stupid, sigh and say to each other "Not this again" just get their money and get them out of here". Normally have a good experience but not today. I attempted to make a reservation online and was not able to. When I arrived to ATL West, 3 sorry looking individuals who were wearing green vests were blocking the entrance and not letting cars in. The sign with numbers of spaces per level were showing 200+ spaces available. When I asked about getting in and why they were not permitting access, one of the men said to the girl, "she wants let in" and the girl's reply was "did she tip you?", and he looked back at me. Ridiculous that ATL West is letting these individuals block people from parking unless you offer them money to pass. Very disappointing! Either bring cash to pay off the sad looking staff or plan to park elsewhere during a busy time. read more

I had a really good experience using the new ATL West Parking garage. First thing to note - do not use the official address in your GPS, you'll end up in the wrong spot. Instead, just head to the airport and follow the signs for domestic travel and eventually you'll see signs directing you to the ATL West Lot. I loved that I had the ability to reserve a spot online. Because I did this, I was able to pull directly up to the gate, they scanned my tag and allowed me to enter. The process was the same for exiting as well. Once in the garage there are green arrows indicating the number of spots available in any section and then once you are in a section, they point directly to open spots. The sky train is located on the 4th level and will take you directly to the north and south terminals. It comes every 5 minutes or so and it only services 3 spots, so it's pretty hard to get lost. You'll need to add an additional 10-12 minutes to your schedule if you're parking here, but definitely felt like it was worth it to have the peace of mind of having a reserved spot (which is not a specific spot, but a guarantee that you'll have a spot in the lot) and transportation directly to the airport. read more

The place is like big brother meets parking garage. Follow the arrows and you dont have to drive up and down aisles looking for a space. Walk to tram is a bit of a hike. i prepaid $61 for coverage we arrived and rode around and around each lane will show 20 parking shot but when you go down the lane they have barriers up in parking spots. We lost time trying to find a covered parking I ended up on lane 6 top of the parking lot no coverage you have to walk a good ways then take the trolley to get to the air port. i choose the way side of the air port to park in that was my fault. this is a long long ways away from the frontier and spirt gate I will be sure to use a closer parking next time. when I arrived back getting out the deck exit signs should be display in better order they have them down each lane so you do know if you should go down the lane or keep straight sense they have exit sign on many poles and down all lanes you need a few workers to help assistance with parking and how to exit the parking deck that would help a lot ! read more

Normally park in south economy but it was full. Parked at atl west and they had it closed off with cones. The employees said it was full but that they would let the few of us in line in on the second level. However, once we pulled past the cones, there were 166 spaces available. Many open spaces where I parked. I don't know why they would close it with spaces open and when other spots were full. Atlanta airport needs to figure out their parking situation or the employees shutting these lots down when there are still spaces open. read more
