Me and my granddaughter went to Atlanta Comedy Theater to see Carl Payne earlier this month. First time here but a past comedy show junkie. We were running behind due to work schedule but got there in time for just one of the opening acts and this guy was local and FUNNNNNEEEEEEE. If anyone can give me his name in comments please do. Headliner Carl Payne did GOODT. His cadence was good, jokes well laid out, relatable and funny. We got to sit front stage with the gracious owner of the club. That was very nice! I told my granddaughter we were going to get heckled for coming in late but gratefully- a guy on the other end of the room was the target of the comediennes jokes! #whew. Happy to dodge that bullet. My granddaughter liked her food and drink. It was dimly lit so no pics of food and a flash would have DEFINITELY put a target on our heads lol. The club has a large lobby area that unfortunately we didn't get to check it out because of our tardiness. It's seemed cool. Large artwork of comedians lined the walls and a step and repeat for picture ops. Our seating was a comfortable four top. Our waitress was so very sweet in pretty challenging logistics to be a server. I was happy to have ample cash in hand to tip her generously. Even though The club was packed, The let out was easy. We had a great time and look forward to more great times at Atlanta Comedy Theater. read more

I received some tickets to the sing along karaoke and comedy show from Carrie Michelle and I invited a few friends to join me. We checked in and sat at one of the center tables. Our server was really nice and made great drink suggestions. I tried the woo-woo and it was fruity and strong. I had the cheeseburger and another friend tried the eggs rolls. I really enjoyed the sing along. The dj was hype and the hosts, Carrie and Pudge kept the fun going. We saw a couple of up and coming comics and they kept us laughing. We will return! read more

Food 4/10 . It's overpriced for the quality. Service sucks! Once the sever drops off the drinks they wont be back until it's time to bring the check. Which has gratuity on there " for wht " when they've done nothing but take the order and drop the drinks off late. Oh and the food runner has a nasty attitude. It's crazy that my last review of this establishment was 9 years ago! I finally made my way back to this comedy theater. I purchased tickets online to see DC Curry. The tickets were accessible through my Apple wallet and worked without any issues. I arrived about 10 minutes prior to what was noted as the start time of 7pm. We were seated quickly. This place still packs the place! Note that you will be in the building like a can of sardines! They are getting all the money they can !! NOTE : there is a 2 item order minimum or a $15 surcharge per person. I would highly recommend just paying the $15 surcharge . The food and drinks are over priced for what you get . A bottle of 500ml of FUJI water is $7- Yeah that's right! The website notes you can get another bottle brand for $4, however, they automatically sell you the FUJI! I also ordered the wing basket that comes with fries. My friend ordered the quesadillas. We both agree the food was basic and nothing to recommend. As noted in my review 9 years ago- the show did NOT start on time! I would say there is no need to arrive on time . The show will not start on time. The only saving grace is that this border theater attracts the best talent! It is the only reason I will continue to patronize . Check it out knowing the following: 1. The place will be packed. Bought tickets to see Don DC Curry for 6/13/26 to celebrate with my husband , they send me a text on 6/12/26 saying the show is now for 6/20/26 instead of just refunding me they decided they would just change the date and we won't even be in town that weekend, I work out of town and came home to celebrate our anniversary, then they said they have Mike Epps but the show is sold out, how the hell did you sell out when you just notified me yesterday that you moved the date to next weekend, black people always doing some stupid shyt when it comes to business which it why it's so hard to support them! You will get ripped off if you don't pay attention. One server added top shelf liquor to my beverage (without asking...resulting in an upcharge) and she also charged me extra for a substitution (onion rings for fries). Gratuity is also added automatically. Watch out for Sakia...she will smile in your face and cheat you at the same time. Honesty is always the best policy in hospitality and I would have preferred to have a choice rather than be bamboozled. Comedy show was great, but I will think twice before ordering here again. I'm so glad I didn't check in on my first experience here: it was awful service food everything for Chris Tucker. However I did for Corey holocomb. So we were promptly seated our waitress was amazing. Took our orders fast and food came out fast as well. Night and day from last time. The onion rings were crispy and chewy on the inside , the po boy was great. I didn't order a drink but guest said it was good. We arrived for the midnight showing, but the show before us ran late so we stood outside a little longer than usual. I didn't get a big meal to eat due to the time that it was. I had the onion rings and a drink (as it was a 2 item minimum). My cousin and I spent $72 total for food and drinks. It was just enough lighting to see your food and drink but light enough for the comedians to point you out, lol! read more

This place is an actual joke. First of all, the seating is the same level as an old school baptist church coffee hour. Plastic tablecloth from dollar tree, old hard chairs. My knees started to throb before mid show. Also, the seats are placed so tight together, you will be rubbing elbows with people next to you. Drink minimum is standard for a comedy club, but due to the absolutely terrible margarita, I had a slice of cake as my 2nd item. I'm pretty sure weight watchers allows more as a serving....for $8. The bathrooms were untidy with cheap kitchen sinks instead of bathroom sinks. And had the nerve to only run cold water. The entire venue (including parking lot) is run down and outdated. Considering the acts and sold out shows, they can do better. I highly doubt I will return unless someone big comes in town....but I guess there is the Fox Theatre or other reputable venues. All staff were friendly and helpful though. No complaints on service. read more

We got there and ordered a wing basket and a shrimp basket with two fruity ssa juice ( supposed to be liquor in it , so we called it fruity juice ) the tab came up to $80 ! $80 for some untouched FOOD AND DRINK ! No once did David aka big Dee come to the table and take that shhh off ! And it wasn't packed only 25 people were in there so I'm confused why he didn't come. I wish I could give a 0 star review... bought a vip table and arrived at 6:45 for the 7pm show. I didn't know 7pm meant 8pm start and though the club was 20% full when we arrived we didn't get anyone to take our order until 8pm and first drink came at 8:15pm. I stopped managers and several waitresses but my waitress still did not come. Service is beyond poor, cant rate the food because I'm still waiting for it. It's so bad I am literally writing this review while I am here. If I wasn't here supporting a comedian friend I would have left. Save your money and go to uptown comedy corner. Really disappointing first introduction. Went to a show to support a friend, the show started almost an hour late. Our server was hard to track down despite the building being at less than half capacity. When we did get our food, we had to ask for forks. 2/3 people at my people received opened package of plastic cutlery... neither of which had forks. The place honestly feels a little run down and the staff could not care if anyone in the building lived or died. Even when the comedians tried riffing with them they silently slinked off. The prices are inflated for what could be described as carnival food at best. Very off putting, I won't be returning. read more

This is a terrible establishment. Its run down, old furniture and no space to lounge comfortable. The bathroom is revolting - reminds me of a crime scene and the drinks are expensive. This place is so raggedy. I've been several times and it doesn't get better it gets worse. Now you have to buy 2 items per person, if not, you're charged a fee. Renovations are past due but I think most comedy clubs pride themselves in being rundown (not sure why). No need to dress nice, jeans and sneakers are fine. read more

I will keep my review short to be nice. First off, if there is no where else to see a comedy show or you can't wait go here, but the comedy is light years above the quality of the venue. Food is over priced and not good. For example a basic soda is $5.99. They also got my order wrong twice. They ignored my dietary restrictions because of my disability even though I explained to the waitress many times. The grilled chicken was was chewing expired laffy taffy. I told the manager and they didn't care. No paper towels in men's room until hours after the first show started. Men's handicap stall won't close unless you push it up and left, which is hard to do when you're disabled like I am. read more

Save your money and go elsewhere. I rarely give one star reviews. First of all when I arrived 30 mins late due to my Uber driving getting lost they had given my preselected pre-purchased seat to other people even though the ticket prices are different prices. I purchased a front and center table and ended on the left side a row back. This separated us from the other half of our group that we bought tickets with. When the waiter came over to the table to take our order we weren't ready to get drinks yet. When we told her that she rudely told it's required to spend $15 per person at the table or receive a $15 surcharge per person then told us it was on the door outside on a sign... a sign I never saw. When asked to speak to a manager we were told he was "a big guy" and we needed to walk out to the front of the venue if we wanted to speak to him. Someone else eventually came to apologize but didn't offer a resolution. Our original waiter never came back to our table after having an attitude so we had to walk up to the bar to be served. At the end of Brandon Jackson's comedy show we found out that most of the attendees got tickets for free. I wish I had looked at the reviews before getting tickets here. We came here to celebrate my friend's birthday and sad to say they tarnished her birthday night with their shenanigans. I wouldn't recommend coming here if you're looking for a nice comedy spot. I'll also mention that the bathrooms were nasty and the place could use a good deep cleaning and some renovating. read more

We came out to see Schuler King's act Saturday night. Glad we arrived 30 minutes early because it was packed. We ordered as soon as we got to our seats, which was great as we noticed orders started to take longer to come out for others. I've been here a couple times and the haven't had frozen drinks at all. They need to remove this from menu as it's giving false information. The seats are standard hard chair seats and they pack you in really good when someone drawing a crowd is performing. I'd recommend people choose their seats carefully so you don't feel smushed in. We had 6 at our table so we had table to ourselves but with more people on either side of us all. The food is decent. We had wings, fries, burgers and drinks. They give you hella fries, which is great if you have an appetite. The fries are so good too. Perfect mix of salty and savory. Wings can be hot or miss from my previous stops here. Sometimes they're too chewy and sdf one times they're just right. Parking is ample in the lot out front. We'd come back for another comedian we'd want to see. read more

Let's start off with the good. I came to see David Arnold for a much-needed laugh, and he absolutely delivered. This was my first and last time at this venue. Now I'm vaxxed and masked, but I still like to know businesses mask policy because we are still in the middle of a "panasonic," and too many people have failed to do their part of this group project. I checked the venue website and clearly read where masks were required except when eating and drinking. That would be cool if it were enforced, say like at the door when walking in. I saw way too many people walking in sans mask. People were sitting at tables before the show began guffawing with no food or drinks insight. Oh, about those tables. That statement about capacity being reduced is a complete lie. The place was packed with barely a few inches between chairs and neighboring tables. Because there was a 2 item purchase, I added a bottle of water to my purchase. For the lovely price of $3.95, I had a 16.9 oz of Walmart's finest Great Value water delivered to my table. Unhappy and miserable staff. Tried calling for information ahead of time and was misinformed about opening hours and start time. When we got there, the host staff barely even acknowledged us as they pointed to where our seats were. Ridiculously over priced cocktails. $18 for vodka soda! For "house" vodka SODA?! Ambiance was ok but VERY tight. They cut ALL the corners and make you pay a premium for very low class experience. Only plus were the comedians. Went to see TK Kirkland, he was hilarious but the venue was a hole in the wall. It's located in a shopping plaza.... so there's plenty of free parking. The theater itself is small...well maybe it's not that small it's just the amount of people they try to pack in there. The tables are tiny, way too small to have 6 adults with food and drinks sitting there. I can't even imagine if you're a bit "thicker" how you would fit in such cramped seating. i came here for a live podcast viewing, and i have very mixed reviews. first off, the food sucked. the fries were cold and mooshy. My friend wasnt thrilled with her wings either. i tried 1 buffalo wing and they didnt taste spicy, and wings were cold. service was terrible. half way through the pod cast, we were here for 45 mins at this point, the server came by and asked for a drink order. came back 15 mins later and said we need to order 2 items and asked for my card. i said im not giving my card until i get at least 1 of my drinks. who pays for something before the items even come to the table? they gave us no time to drink or eat. eventually i got my first drink and ordered the fries. no lie, the food came out like 5 mins before the show ended. we rushed eating it. bathroom was smelly and dirty too. the set up is okay, they add too many tables and chairs tho. everything was super tight. however, i like the stage size and the sound. the room isnt huge, so its a great intimate feel. once you leave theres an area to the left you can go thrugh, and do a meet and greet. i liked this because its off to the side. read more

I came for Mother's Day weekend. The show was great ! However , the food was disgusting and overpriced. I ordered a burger, wings, and black bean rolls. None of it was good. The burger was nasty , dry and no flavor. I can tell that it was prepackaged. The bun wasn't even good. The wings were cooked way too hard and the black bean rolls were so nasty that I sent them back. I really wish that I sent all of it back. It was way over priced and not worth it. They also make you order two things and charge 18% gratuity. If you go , eat somewhere else first and just order water. You'll thank me later. read more

My husband and I were there last night to see D'lai. There were many people there which I blame on the ticketing system. I tried to book tickets for a group of my friends to join us the however the website said ticketing was closed. There was no option for same day tickets and the website didn't say if it would be ok to just show up. The service was wonderful. Chef Warren and our server Miss Jasmine were the highlights. Chef warren greeted us personally and we ended up ordering what he recommended. Miss Jasmine was so professional, friendly, and attentive. I rarely drink so I had been looking forward to having a frozen margarita. I was excited when I saw it on the menu in the frozen drinks section. Unfortunately, I was told the blender had been broken since November and still hadn't been replaced. Like how? How do you have the audacity to have a bar and a frozen drinks on the menu but can't order a blender off Amazon? It's giving ghetto, lazy, and cheap. Additionally, a frozen margarita likely would've allowed me to overlook the dimly lit gas station bathroom. We had a great time overall and although the blender complaint seems petty, I think it's petty to not replace a blender. I would've stopped by target and brought them one had I known they were struggling like that Thanks for being awesome chef Warren and Miss Jasmine. *The 2 item minimum is very typical of most comedy venues and I feel it's reasonable. However, I do think it should be communicated more clearly when buying the ticket so that people aren't surprised. read more

Came to see Gary Owen and these people lied! Let me start by saying Gary was phenomenal! Hilarious! However, the venue sold us tickets with promises of social distancing and proper CDC guidelines. Note the photo I'm attaching. They also said that they'd only seat parties that know each other to tables. NONE OF THIS HAPPENED. My guest and I were seated at a table with 4 people we didn't know...maybe 10 inches apart. We were PACKED! Gary immediately joked about how they lied about seating requirements. I am extremely unhappy with the lack of concern for public health. To make matter worse, we paid $22 for 2 waters, cranberry juice, and a Sprite. If anyone gets sick, please use this information to hold this venue liable. read more

The food was typical bar food, nothing to write home about. The seating was really cramped but fine. The biggest downfall of this place was the rude and inattentive staff. I saw my waitress twice the entire night and even then our orders were messed up. I was charged for an upgraded alcohol drink ($17) for a vodka cranberry AND a water that we never got. And what was I supposed to do? Call for our waitress in the middle of the show? No. She came, took the check, and left. The staff was also really loud DURING the performance. They had radios blasting in the back which was very distracting and even Pete Davidson had to say something about it. Let's be clear: this is a hole in the wall comedy club. It's tight quarters with a misleading seating chart. If you're attempting to select seats online, look up Images of the inside before making tour final selection. Here's what was wrong with the experience: (1) we arrived early, got in quickly, and seated right away. Then, we were seated for at least 30 minutes before we could place an order. We attempted to order from a waitress who told us she wasn't assigned to our table, and casually stopped two more waitresses before we found the one who was ours. There were people who entered 20 minutes after us and were eating food before we could even place an order. (2) the wings were tiny and overcooked...like literally burnt. (3) there's a two item minimum and an 18% gratuity, which are both to be expected in this type of environment. However, in our case, this meant patronizing and tipping very poor service. (4) they claim to be observing health recommendations for social distance and they claim to have limited seating due to COVID-19. #fakenews Here are the precautions they took: taking our temperature at the door, the staff wearing masks, and an announcement to ask that guests only remove their masks to eat or drink. The seats were filled in this (again) very cramped space. There was no effort to limit seating or space guests out, and very few people wore their masks throughout the show. (5) there was a posted sign that said no weapons, but there was no metal detector or pat down. This should have happened considering there was a celebrity present, close quarters, and no barrier present. Things that went well: (1) the show started close to on time and we got to see Eddie Griffin live. (2) the other food was okay. Nothing worth recommending, just okay. This place has a lot of potential if they spread the tables out more. It's so crammed-packed you can't move, and I was getting bumped whenever somebody walked by. This seating arrangement only works if everyone is 100lbs. The music was crazy loud, and you could go down a notch to hear the people around you. The drinks were good but a little too sweet. Most comedy shows have a two-drink minimum; however, they allow me to order three drinks and my husband to order one (cause that's still four items). My husband was feeling sick, so that he couldn't drink anything, but they insisted that he get two and I get two. Online said the doors open at six, but when we walked in we were told it's closed & they're still cleaning. No need to show up before 7 cause the show didn't start till 7:30. Tony Rock was hilarious, which made up for the cramped space & constant bumping. I'm not sure I would call this place upscale like it says online~just ok. read more
