This review should have been written months ago, and I apologize to Atlanta Hand Specialist, Dr. Molina, and the entire staff for not posting it sooner. I went to see Dr. Molina after getting a piece of wood lodged in my hand, and I received the best care possible from the moment I walked through the door. Dr. Molina was wonderful--gentle, clear, thorough, and highly professional. His genuine demeanor immediately put me at ease and reassured me that I was in the right place and in excellent hands. In today's world, it is rare to find a physician and surgeon with such outstanding bedside manner. Dr. Molina truly cares about his patients, and that level of compassion is both refreshing and admirable. The office staff was equally impressive--friendly, professional, and welcoming. Every time I visited, I was greeted with warm smiles and treated with kindness and respect. I have nothing but praise for this practice and would highly recommend them to anyone in need of a hand specialist. After dealing with hand pain for a year and a half finally found AHS-Lawrenceville. Met with Dr. Molina and he was amazing. Took time and explained & showed visuals of what could be going on, set up a MRI, had a follow up and then scheduled surgery. I am on day 4 post-op and so far so good. I received the best of care at AHS. Dr Molina was wonderful in explaining my carpal tunnel syndrome and how we should proceed; he is thorough, and has genuine concern for his patients. In today's world not many Drs/Surgeons have the manner which he has, it is very admirable that he truly cares about his patients. The nurses that took care of me before and after my procedure were wonderful - I am sorry that I forgot their names, but I was just coming out of the anesthesia. The office staff is friendly, and professional; whenever I walk in the office Jessica always greets me with a warm smile. I have nothing but praise for the physical therapists. Who like to go to PT? But when you have professionals like Stephanie and Alina - they make it less stressful - they are there to teach and assist with your healing process. And I can feel and see the results from week to week. I have carpal tunnel in my left hand, and once my right hand has fully healed I will be going back to AHS for this procedure. He took the time to explain to me in detail what the surgery would be and he did so in a language it was very easy for me to understand, which helped me feel confident for the procedure. I wish I had a better review bc it's super easy to get an appt and the staff always have a pleasant and warm greeting. I think Dr. Whitaker seems to be nice and very professional while you're visiting but my concern is what happens after you leave. If you've ever had a claim where medical records were needed for work, disability, or anything else that you would need it for I would say go somewhere else!! Been in pain for 6 months now and unsure at this point if I always will be in pain. Things aren't going so well and I may have to stop seeking treatment and return to work bc I can't keep missing paychecks due to office delays and clerical errors. I have had several occasions where the staff advised Dr. Whitaker would take care of something only to call several more times and it not be done. Days later- even the next week sometimes I would speak with staff and they would just keep saying it's on his desk or it's been on his desk and we just need him to sign it. I understand the dr is busy but too busy to fill out paperwork that ensures that I get paid just like his claims to my insurance company gets paid?? It makes working with him a bit difficult bc he keeps getting to submit his bills but my family is struggling to put food on the table. He and his staff have no idea that their one week processing time as they say can easily turn it to 2-3 week processing when they don't complete it as promised. Meanwhile I have to struggle with life costs on my own bc the paperwork I need to support my claim hasn't been sent which means I don't get a paycheck Dr! It is hard to say if the office staff is giving me misinformation when they say they have spoken with him or that its on his desk waiting to be signed but if he really does take a week to sign a paper he obviously knows is impacting someone's livihood then take my hard learned lesson and go see another specialist. read more

I had an excellent experience at the Atlanta Hand Specialist office In Lawrenceville. This office is very professionally managed. I feel that Dr. Mangonan was especially caring about the pain in my hand and thoroughly explained options to resolve these issues. The doctor's assistant was very helpful with setting up a convenient day for surgery and explained everything that I need to do and NOT do during the time leading up to my surgery. I would rate my experience as 6-stars if that rating was available. read more

If I could give them zero stars I could. I had surgery in January on a Friday on my middle finger. Went back for a dressing change the following Monday and the surgical site was infected. The infection led to complete destruction of the soft tissue in my finger joint. My finger is still swollen, painful, and I have lost almost all motion in this finger. It is crooked and I am very self-conscious about it in addition to the pain and loss of motion. My only choice now is to either live with the pain or another surgery to fuse the middle knuckle, which will leave me with no range of motion in that joint but would alleviate the pain. They WILL NOT be doing this follow up surgery. Since I did not change the dressing between surgery and dressing change and kept it clean and dry, this leads me to believe the infection was contracted during the surgery. Please reconsider going to this practice. I wished I never had the surgery but I was told they do this procedure quite frequently and with excellent outcomes. Not so much... read more
