I went on a helicopter ride with a friend. They recommend you arrive 15 minutes prior to your tour, in which we did. This gives you time to prepare; use the restroom etc. We brought our own Clicquot to drink, the only thing they ask was for us to buy spill proof cups, which were $10 a piece, which I felt was fair, because most companies won't allow you to BYOB lol. Upon arrival the greeter at the front desk was very pleasant and smiling, I didn't get her name but she was sweet :-) !! We had the 30 minute, Buckhead/Downtown tour. The tour was Amazing, thanks to our pilot Cody. THANKS AGAIN CODY !!! Cody flew us through Downtown, Buckhead, and the Perimeter area near the King & Queen Building & Perimeter Mall Very great tour, our ride was smooth and steady !! Staff was extremely nice and welcoming. Our pilot, Cody, was extremely knowledgeable about the area and let us know about the landmarks. I also appreciate that they reminded us to tip the pilots, and they can take credit card tips at the end in case you don't have cash! We got the anniversary special, which includes champagne and a 15 minute ride that we scheduled. Unfortunately, the company booked over our appointment and did not let us know in the confirmation. It ended up working out because I called ahead (so be sure to do that!), but I think that they should have been more clear in the confirmation in case I hadn't called ahead. Also, they forgot to give us our champagne, though we were not early for the helicopter flight due to the fact that our original time was supposed to be later (and this mistake was never acknowledged). Also, with the company knowing this was a special occasion, this was never acknowledged which would have been nice. Overall, you get a solid helicopter ride and a good time, but I don't feel like the logistics are all there. read more

Flying a helicopter around town? Why not. Whether it's a random activity you decided to do on a weekend or something for a special event, it is absolutely worth the experience. The staff was extremely nice, this I am giving this rating mainly based on that. However, on the day we came (Valentine's day), they had a bad planning mistake and clearly overbooked too many people for these rides. That resulted in having to wait over an hour for the flight. However, the person working with us kept us updated all the time and assured that it was a one time occurrence and things just didn't go in their favor on that day (such as having to take a break from flying and going to get gas). He seemed like the kind of person that would be great at extracting some lessons learned and was extremely courteous, thus I am still giving a good rating. Can't punish good people for a single mistake, but obviously if something like this happened again, I'd be furious. The experience in the helicopter itself was unreal! So much fun and the pilot was awesome. Unfortunately, the headphones did not work, so we couldn't really hear the pilot, but that wasn't a big issue. It's a small helicopter, so that made it even more fun, a feeling of being weightless almost. I have never been so disappointed by customer service in my life aside from our lovely pilot, my first helicopter experience was overwhelmingly ruined by the disgraceful service. I paid $517 for a king queen, Buckhead, and downtown Atlanta 30 min tour and only got to see the king and Queen City and part of Buckhead at a 15-minute tour due to the falcons and braves game and the "no-fly policy." This policy entails that helicopters/biplanes are prohibited from flying within 3 miles of the stadium during games (which the company was aware of). Unfortunately, I was not notified till I was in the air and should've been notified before my arrival considering downtown ATL is a major attraction as I paid for the more expensive package to specifically see the skyline. They offered to refund me $100 back after I made a complaint still leaving me with $417 a trip. When on their website a king and queen tour + Buck-head tour WITHOUT downtown ATL for 15 mins goes for $250-280. I politely asked to be refunded for the correct value based on what I was able to see. They never once apologized in fact they became extremely argumentative as I spent weeks emailing back and forth. I would rather fly on a bird's back around Atlanta than ever book with this company again. Customer service matters and when you are paying a good amount of money for an experience like this you should always put the customer first especially when the company is at fault. I will give credit to the pilot, he was great and professional as well as the experience overall was cool. Eventually, after 2-3 weeks, I was reimbursed for the proper amount due to me standing my ground and providing clear evidence 15-minute helicopter ride vs a 30-minute one. I have known the owner of this business for 7 years or so. I met him through aviation and we have trained together, traveled together, invested together, spent family time together, etc. Al is a top notch person who I consider as a brother. Another reviewer left a review about "chronic tardiness." ... A lot of times, when people are training or have signed up for a tour, they don't understand the dynamics behind aviation. Especially with helicopters. Planning a flight has multiple facets; weather, airworthiness of the helicopter, the attitude and mental state of instructor and student / pilot and occupants and more. This reviewer seems like he thinks the world should revolve around his time, when in fact, you can't trade time for safety. It looks like Al was trying to plan a safe flight, not rush, and make sure this guy was safe when flying. My instructor, Alister Pereira, is chronically late for my flight lessons. Often times, I would wait over half an hour for my lesson to start, while he was in his office at the airfield, talking with people or doing office work despite me being ready, in the helicopter. On November 6, I had a training scheduled for 11 AM, in which Al showed up over an hour and a half late. He did text me at 11:15 A.M. to inform me he was late and that he was on his way back and would "be back soon". However, by that time, I had already taken time off from my work and driven out to the airport and was waiting. After our flight lesson, I respectfully confronted him that his habit of lateness had bothered me, and he made many excuses saying to get used to it, that is how life is. He did eventually apologize, and I thought we had settled everything. But he called me later to tell me how he was tired of trying to please people and he was not sorry for it. He was very disrespectful in his tone and words in this call. Afterwards, we exchanged a series of texts and emails in which I tried to explain why that bothered me and I pointed out his unprofessional behavior. I contacted my secondary instructor, and we had made arrangements to finish my flight training. However, because Alister Pereira owns Atlanta Helicopters and employs my other instructor, Al intervened and canceled my lesson with him. Alister then told me to find a new flight school and forbid my secondary instructor from teaching me, despite my secondary instructor being glad to train me. I have been informed this is not the first time Alister Pereira has behaved like this and has treated clients/students similarly in the past. I simply tried to point out his lateness and tried to get us to work from there but he apparently cannot take criticism, belittled me, and forced me to another flight school. Nope. Not going back. Actually - I never went to begin with so I can't speak to the cleanliness or anything about the actual helicopter nor the establishment. However, I can speak to the service that I received and I was not appreciative of it. I scheduled a helicopter ride for Buckhead and the King/Queen tour. Total was $190.00 for myself and my boyfriend. This was a surprise birthday gift for my boyfriend and since he travels a lot we don't get to see each other much and this was one night I had really, really hyped up for him and he was so excited to see what his surprise was. On the day OF the surprise, ONE HOUR before we were supposed to be there, I get a call (don't remember the person's name) but I was told that there was a mishap with the Helicopter and it's broken and they can't accommodate us tonight and we can reschedule if we want to. (No! I did not want to reschedule. I had this whole night planned for his surprise and this was not how I wanted this to go down. I'm just surprised that there was only ONE helicopter and they couldn't accommodate us the same day maybe at a different time. Fast forward - I asked for a full refund of my $190.00. He said he'll have to call his boss and process the refund. I did not hear back (I asked for my refund on Friday the 18th) until the following Monday which is fine since the weekend came in the middle. The "boss" said that he's going to issue the refund and he'll send me a confirmation email. Never received the confirmation email until the 23rd, that too after me calling him multiple times and he kept saying its not sending from his work email and has to send it to me from his personal email. On Wednesday I called him in the morning and turns out that number was his personal cell phone and he was sleeping. SUPER AWKWARD. No sense of professionalism. Anyways, I never received my refund until Friday November 25th. ONE WHOLE WEEK of this nonsense and I had to reach out to them God knows how many times. I was not happy at all with the service I received and how my entire surprise for my boyfriend's birthday was completely ruined. I'm just surprised that for the entire establishment for my time slot of 7:30 PM, there was only ONE helicopter??... How is that possible? So disappointed. read more

Had an amazing flight today! Atlanta Helicopters is a first rate tour company with nice, modern, and clean helicopters that appear to be well maintained. They were busy but they were able to work me in to the schedule on short notice. The expert pilot, Rachel, made this adventure a lot of fun! I will definitely be back to do it again. Atlanta Helicopters does a wonderful job at providing you an unbelievable SAFE experience! If you're on a tour, or taking flying lessons, Safety is their top priority. Aviation takes a lot of time, which is mostly caused from safety. Thorough preflight inspections, checking weather where you're located, where you're destination is, and everywhere in between, making sure the pilot, student, and or passengers are physically and mentally ready to fly, etc. That's ALL safety related things that needs a lot of attention. I personally started doing business with them about 2-1/2 years ago. I have become great friends with the owner, as he was my instructor while I achieved my private pilot license. He is different than most in the business. Why? He is there to get you your license, and make sure you're safe with as little amount of money as possible (not letting you fly hours and hours without learning). Took my girlfriend for a flight over downtown Atlanta and it could not have been a better experience! The staff was very accommodating and provided us with champagne to drink, during our romantic tour through the city. We had the option to rent Bose headsets, which were noise-cancelling and made the trip very pleasurable. Plus, the pilot was very knowledgeable and pointed out things that are only visible by air.
