After months of doing research, we came across Atlanta Home Theater. I will admit I was a little confused with the company name because several companies populate when you search Atlanta Home Theater. I guess other companies have learned how to manipulate the SEO to get hits when people search for Home Theater and just happen to be in Atlanta. I digress.......I reached out to AHT in hopes to schedule a consultation. I had no idea that the owner of the company would show up at my house. What was cool, he was just as excited about the specs of the basement as I was... what a shocker. It appeared that he was trying to spec our basement out as if it were his own. That was impressive to me. I felt like I was important to him and not just a potential client with the intent of just making another sale. Mr. Ross invited me to come to his studio for a consultation to get the true "In Home" experience. I will say, this is what stood out to me as a potential client. All the other places I researched seemed to be commercialized and presented options on a store floor with the standard couch in an open space.That is not the case at Atlanta Home Theater. When I arrived at the AHT facility, the customer service was outstanding. Upon arrival, I was treated like I was a part of the family. I was given a tour of the facility which provided examples of living spaces so you get the true experience of what your system my look/sound like to include furniture, decor and other items you may have in your home. Here is one warning.... brace yourself.... I went in with a specific budget in mind and I left not knowing what I would purchase. The options are amazing. When you leave (in my case) you get several options based on what you think you need. I don't know if that's standard or not but because I was impressed with each home theater, I am not sure if they created packages just for me or if that's standard procedure. The beauty of this is that the different packages all come with different price ranges and different equipment so it's up to you to select what you want and desire. No pressure from AHT. Fast forward to selecting my package... of course you know I went with the... let's just say "the top of the line" for me that is...Here is where AHT theater is outstanding in my book. There were two people who reached out to me before we even started the project. A Mr. Bill Bingham and Mr. Joe Coots. These two are the face of AHT... they make you feel at home and comfortable with the entire process. This is a large investment, and they make sure you feel like your investment is well worth it. Full disclosure.... As we progressed along with the project, there was an issue with my contractor and AHT... what was scary, respectable, and reassuring was AHT was very adamant about pulling the plug on the project. I totally respected the fact that no contract was worth employees not being held to the utmost respect. You must love a company that will walk away from money and a client to protect their staff. This made me fall in love even more with AHT because it was a testament that their staff is more important than any dollar figure. Once the issue was resolved, we pressed forward with the project. Jake was the project manager, and he is AMAZING! Jake is like a kid in a candy store. He absolutely loves what he does. When talking to him, he gets excited about the project which makes you get excited about the project as well. Jake was very knowledgeable about what I wanted and made suggestions based on our conversations. What Mr. Ross and I discussed changed based on the living space and what my wife and I wanted in our basement. We installed Control 4, Somfy black-out shades, and a host of other smart home features. Let just say... our basement is completely automated and is the epitome of "SMART!" AHT is an amazing company. Their customer service is impeccable and most importantly, they make you feel like you are a part of the family. We highly recommend Atlanta Home Theater. I had grand expectations when I decided to use AHT for several projects at our home in Big Canoe. Our first visit there was on a weekend and there was no one there but us and a black gentleman who I understand was an installer (it's been a while and I'm sorry I don't know his name). He was awesome and took us around to all the rooms, played different songs etc so we could listen to the various pieces of equipment and speakers. It was a great experience and we knew we wanted AHT to do something like that for us. We met with Scott at our hose and discussed a plan. The first phase was revising an old Control4 system that mainly managed the TV's and ceiling speakers. Looking back, I can see that the scope of the project went unnoticed. I now see that the "sales and design" aspect of the project were just superficial. The installer (who is no longer with AHT) was awesome and was the person that was responsible in getting the system setup the way it is now, and I am very pleased with that part. He and his helper did an outstanding job with the Control4 and Sonos setup, as well as some new network hardware. Had it not been for him, we wouldn't have purchased half of what we purchased. He understood what we wanted/needed and knew what to do to make it all happen. They lost a really good person when he left. We decided to wait to start Phase 2 until after the first of the year, so there was a 2-3 month gap after the Control4/Sonus part of the project was supposedly completed. I sent an email saying I was ready to get started on Phase 2 and what do we need to do to get started, but they informed me that they could no longer do my project since they were now too busy. Just when you think you have it all figured out and are ready to proceed and you get dumped. They did refer me to someone else, which I really couldn't be happier with, and I will share that below. Fine. So I asked them to finish labeling the Control4 switches and we would be done. At that point I was informed that many of the switches would have to be replaced in order to have them engraved, and it was going to cost me an additional $2500 to have them switched out, and that's with a discount on labor. They might as well have slapped me in the face. I'll label my own switches for $2500. Seriously? I'm not sure where the breakdown in communications was, but it was a big one. So... this is my opinion. You go in their showroom and you see all the fancy bells and whistles and you get a great dog and pony show, but they don't really want to do your room, they really just want to sell you equipment. If you want a media/home theater room, go elsewhere. You apparently need to spend more money than I wanted to spend or they don't really want to do your room. It sounds like to me they can't handle much work because they don't seem to have the manpower. I do not recommend AHT, and to those people that I did recommend them to, I apologize. I will make sure to warn everyone that I talked to, because I certainly don't want to be the person that recommended AHT, and then have something like this happen with their project. There are a lot of folks up here that have money to do media rooms, and this story will certainly be shared with those people. If you need a room design from start to finish, I highly recommend Quest Acoustical Interiors. They've already been out to measure our room and have started the design process. I was going to use AHT for the equipment purchase, even after they told me they couldn't do the room project, but after the switch(s) fiasco, I will now source my equipment elsewhere. The installer measured the rooms (18 tall windows) for motorized shades that could be managed with the Control4 system. Do you think we ever heard anything back about those? Was anyone going to show me styles, colors, options? That's a lot of money by itself, but apparently no interest. There is a blessing and a reason for the way things happen, and I can't help but think that we're in much better hands with Quest for my room project. Good luck with your project... read more

Wow, what can I even say. Jennifer and Scott installed a theater into my home. Everything was fine until I came home one day to see that they had let themselves into my house, and were using said theater. Jennifer and Scott said stated that because they installed the theater into my home, they had unlimited access to using it. I guess somewhere in their contracts, they snuck in some verbiage that allows them to use their clients home and theater after they install them. So bizarre. in 2019 we purchased a house that had home theater and home audio installed and serviced by AHT. The initial installation was done in 2012/13 with subsequent service calls. Recently, we started planning for a large shower party in our house and needed to make sure several zones of our home audio would be working. I was out of town most of the last two years and was eager to have system eventually upgraded, but at this point the emphasis was at the operation of the existing system. The previous owner did not leave any instructions. I spoke with Joe, the ATH operations manager in hope they could send someone (who I would pay) to check the system and make sure it works. To my dismay Joe explained that such a thing would not be profitable for them, that the system (7 years old) is to outdated for anyone to assist me (???) but they would be happy to send over their designer to upgrade the system. This is an example of a snotty, quick $$$ service that I will never use. I was willing to invest much more over this summer in upgrading the whole system, but there is this sense that there are much more important customer$$$ out there, and that's what it counts (in Joe's world). I am sorry, Joe, but after 21 years in business, you haven't learned a dang thing about the customer service. And that coming from someone having his own consulting business. read more

Atlanta Home Theater is a first class operation, most recently I purchased Wilson Alexia speakers from them, this is my third upgrade in the Wilson line in the last 2 1/2 years. Each time Scott has taken the time to fully demonstrate the benefits of the speaker under consideration in a welcoming environment. He has been most generous in the trade in allowance and very importantly, the staff does a superb job in not only delivering and setup of the new speakers but in packing and picking up the trade in's. They never rush through the process and take the care and effort to make the experience as pleasant as possible. The excessive weight of Wilson speakers and complexity required in proper installation require a dealer who is knowledgable in order to obtain the best sound and Atlanta Home Theater has that ability. read more
