He…read moreremoved the tooth on August 17.Despite the fact that every article and dentist that I have spoken to advises that a tooth extraction should hurt for no more than one week I saw him four or five more times and each time he told me my Mouth was healing, despite my complaining of continual pain. Finally after a month of visits I finally lost my temper in his office, he sent me to a friend of his in Massapequa. This was only after I insisted that the pain was continuing and that my two knee replacements healed quicker than his tooth extraction. His friend in Massapequa did a perfunctory exam and sent me home telling me there was nothing wrong. Thankfully, I found an oral surgeon in Hewlett, Joshua Wolf who immediately did a test and indicated that I needed to be hospitalized and treated as my jawbone was so fragile that it was in danger of fracturing. I had the surgery at Mount Sinai in Oceanside and a biopsy was done, which indicated that not only did I have an infection, but had cancer in my jawbone. It is still to be determined how much the cancer spread while Dr. Kshonz was insisting that it was healing. At some point I should've been told That the tooth was not healing properly and that I should seek the advice of an oral surgeon. I have been advised that a cosmetic dentist probably should've referred the initial extraction to an oral surgeon. His refusal to acknowledge after weeks of treatment that my pain was not normal, and the fact that it required me to finally throw a temper tantrum in his office Is inexcusable. My family and I used him in the past but his casual approach to what turned out to be a grave matter cannot be forgiven. I never post negative reviews, but my life was actually in danger due to his lack of action. A sore that doesn't heal is an indication of something more than simple pain from an extraction.

I first went to see Dr. Ienna about a year ago when my dentist recommended him for a gum graft procedure due to a severely receding gum line on a couple of teeth. Dr. Ienna agreed with my dentist and recommended the gum graft procedure be done sooner than later. I had to delay the procedure for a few months due to other reasons but finally scheduled to get it done in December. Although a gum graft isn't the greatest procedure in the world, I don't think I could have had a better periodontist for the job. Dr. Ienna not only has an incredible surgical hand but also fantastic bedside manner. I was awake for the entire surgery (2 hours including the numbing process), but Dr. Ienna was constantly checking in to ask for a thumbs up if everything was ok. The nurse who worked with him on the procedure was also really warm, professional, and reassuring (she had the procedure done twice herself and was able to answer every question I had for her). The real kicker? Not only did he give out his cell number for emergencies, but he also called me from that cell number later that evening and left a very kind voicemail to make sure everything was ok and to remind me of a few important post-op instructions. With it now being a little over a month after the procedure, I've had 3 additional checkups with Dr. Ienna and I can honestly say that the results have been worth the surgery and the post-op discomfort (about 4 days of soreness and 2-3 weeks of adjusted lifestyle). The gum line looks brand new!! Dr. Ienna did a remarkable job and the results have completely exceeded my expectations. Aside from Dr. Ienna himself, his entire staff (especially the nurses) is incredibly warm (except for one receptionist who really doesn't seem to like her job much). The waiting area is small but comfortable, and the procedure rooms are the same. They also have a TV in each room, which is a nice distraction during surgery (although I was ironically watching Food Network... looking at all the things I knew I wouldn't be able to eat for a few weeks). Bottom line? Periodontal surgery isn't fun, but if I ever need it again, I'm absolutely returning to Dr. Ienna. The exam rooms are well lit, clean, smell lovely and all have TV's in them, which is a nice amenity to have while some one is digging around in your mouth for an hour or two. Dr Ienna himself, is very intelligent and has a vast working knowledge of dentistry and periodontics. He is gentle, precise and keeps the lines of communication wide open. During my gum graft surgery, he would talk to me through the procedure, constantly asking me if I was okay. He has a great surgical hand and I would recommend him to anyone whom needs periodontic work.

I then met with hygienist Hazel who took her time cleaning my teeth, was very gentle and afterwards had a brief consult with me about flossing more to avoid plaque build up. The other hygienist Gloria was very welcoming and kind as well. Dr. Jacob entered the room and was extremely friendly and bubbling with a great sense of humor. He consulted with me about the enamel stains I've had on my two front teeth since a child. This is the first time a dentist has suggested an alternative to invasive porcelain veneers. For years, I've met with different providers and there has not been a solution. He discussed a mild Icon polish treatment and was happy to review what my insurance covers. Since ownership has changed over to Dr. Orza however , it seems the waiting room became more aesthetically pleasing procedures became more expensive but patient care became their last priority. I only have gone to them for minor things, like regular cleanings my yearly check up out of convenience since I live in the area. In 2022 I had gotten pricing for a tooth pull and an implant which I thought was outrageous. So I went to a different dental surgeon, All County Oral in Jericho by the way, tell them Carla sent you. It's a bit of a drive for me so I didn't switch dentists altogether, instead, I got the implant and came back to Westbury dental spa for the cap. Fast forward to this year, I made my yearly appointment at Westbury dental Spa. I was having some discomfort with the tooth implants & during my cleaning they noticed my cap was loose, they did x-rays and I was told I would need to see their oral surgeon as they couldn't adjust the cap because they believed the issue to be the implant. They day of my appoint with the oral surgeon came, AN HOUR BEFORE my appointment the front desk girl called to inform me that I needed to be prepared to pay, I was very much angry at the fact that they waited right before my appointment to tell me this. I show up, now having made rushed arrangements with care credit only to find that the surgeon not only isn't going to see me, but Dr. orza came in and told me I had a possible infection and that the surgeon took a look at the Xray & agreed that the implant was being rejected. This week my implant completely fell out, I was not in any pain but called them regardless to ask if there was anything I needed to do. I went into their office for an emergency appointment just to make sure said "infection" wouldn't cause me any harm being that I still needed clearance by my OB for the scheduled extraction & bone graft that she very quickly made sure to get me an appointment with the surgeon for. Ofcourse this an out-of-pocket expense of $6980 appointment was prioritized & I was set up with this elusive surgeon. As soon as I arrived today the front desk girl goes "did you not get our text, we texted you to see if you could come in at 1 were running 1/2 and hour behind" I made her aware I had another commitment and could only wait 15mins. Being in that waiting room today on a random Saturday really opened my eyes that it's not just me, one patient was told on arrival that they don't take her insurance, the other was there for her Invisalign & divulged she left a review in exchange for a small discount but was so unhappy with the practice. So who knows how many of these reviews were coerced. Because myself and these other two unhappy patients got to talking they made sure to get me to the back and a s a p. Turns out there was another dentist there, one that I did not know, she had me undergo another cray only to tell me that the implant came out clean and I didn't have an infection at all! I only went today to ensure I was okay to leave the implant out and that said infection didn't worsen. I'm glad I did though, today's visit further solidified what I have been feeling since this DR. Took over, they don't care about their patients they care about their bottom line which is $$$. The fact that the doctor that was there tried to back track and tell me that "they may have done a different type of x-ray that I do not know how to read & that's why they told you an infection but from what I can see that is not the case" LITERALLY ... W H A T. They are so quick to push stupid aesthetic procedures like teeth whitening & Invisalign but can't get their heads out of their ass long enough to inform a patient thoroughly.

Scheduling wasn't difficult and they told me upfront what my out of pocket costs would be. The doctors were thorough, gentle and patient. They told me the game plan beforehand and let me know what I should expect in terms of pain and discomfort. They let me take some time when things got painful which I appreciate. Overall a great experience.
