Located between the Greater Cleveland metropolitan suburbs of Berea and Brooklyn Heights (in the outer suburb of Brookpark) and on the grounds of the new Cleveland Browns stadium, and about 8.7 miles directly southwest of downtown Cleveland, in the designated neighborhood of Hopkins (known as Riverside until 2015). Cleveland-Hopkins covers an area of 1,717 acres in Brookpark's Hopkins neighborhood, and has three "standard" (for the US) runways, though unlike San Diego, it has no EMAS arrestor system for aircraft. Hopkins and San Diego are actually about the same geographic size. One of NASA's ten designated field research sites, the Glenn Research Center, is on airport grounds but not airport property as NASA is a federal department paid by US taxes each year. I wasn't exaggerating when I mentioned that Cleveland-Hopkins has been at the forefront of pioneering innovations. CLE was the first airport with an air traffic control tower (ATC) and a two-level/split design separating arrivals from departures. Both of which are now ubiquitous at nearly every airport in the US, and most airports around the world today. In fact, it is now mandated by FAA regulations to have some type of true air traffic control tower. Cleveland-Hopkins was also the first airport in North America to be directly connected with a rail transit line, connected directly to the red line train of the Greater Cleveland Rapid Transit Authority (GCRTA) with a built-in train station beneath the airport-proper that connects to departures through a quick escalator or elevator ride. Cleveland-Hopkins was a hub for United Airlines from the post-World War II era until the mid-1980s. After United moved out, Continental Airlines moved in, making it the dominant carrier at the airport in the 1990s and 2000s. In 2010, United and Continental merged, keeping the United name and eliminating the Continental name, resulting in Cleveland becoming a United hub again. However, in 2014, United discontinued its hub, though it still has a flight attendant base, pilot base, and maintenance facilities at the airport and is its largest carrier by passenger count. When United stopped using CLE as a hub in 2014, they closed Concourse D (a separate satellite terminal connected to the main facility via underground walkway) but United kept paying rent on the lease to the satellite. Even in 2026, United is still the largest carrier at Cleveland-Hopkins despite the prevalence of Low-Cost Carriers who found a new home at CLE; with the shutdown of Spirit Airlines, United closed the metaphorical door on Low-Cost Carriers expanding or coming into Cleveland-Hopkins. Most LCCs have, for the most part, aside from Allegiant Air, Sun Country (until their merger with Allegiant is finalized though Allegiant likely is not moving out), and Southwest Airlines, pulled out of Cleveland-Hopkins to center their operations further south at Akron-Canton Regional Airport, which is more affordable for Low-Cost Carriers per gate rental. Some context for the "Hopkins" moniker; CLE airport was named after its founder, former city manager William R. Hopkins, which the city dedicated to him on Hopkins' 82nd birthday in 1951, 26 years after the airport itself was founded by Hopkins; Cleveland-Hopkins International Airport (CLE) turns 101 years old this month. Decent, but looking forward to the improvements.

That driver was courteous and witty, making it a fun ride no matter the hour! Coming back, I ordered another ride, and that took about 7 minutes to appear, even though the area was slightly congested. That driver was also courteous, chatty and witty, so the ride back was just as pleasantly enjoyable! I have an Uber account with all the safety bells and whistles, so I don't have to worry about any last minute hassles! I'm so happy that I used Uber and will continue to do so for any destinations that normally prove to be nightmare when it comes to traffic and road rage!

Instructions are vague "Take the Exit", but not which exit, you need to study the app not the road to see which exit. Instructed to do a "U" turn at the busiest crossroad in rush hour. The app will not re-calculate when you pick up a passenger, I had the map going round in circles because it didn't know where I was. Long road trips take many more hours than needed, had a trip take 2.45 hrs longer than it should because it sent me through a different state to come back to the final destination, most long trips have the same problem, passengers get very upset for the time taken for even local trips. The app will always have you pick up a ride or drop off on the left, even on a busy road facing traffic. You need to have the phone connected to power all the time you use Lyft, without it will go from 100% to 0% in 2 hours. Get insults like "Keep your phone out of Airplane mode", "Connection issues" when there are many other drivers waiting for rides in the same area.

My entire group of friends booked Frontier for our flight to Tampa so I reluctantly did too. I have a traumatic history with Frontier as they canceled my flight 4 years ago to Phoenix last minute and I missed a friend's Bachelorette party. Then they made me through heck to get my money back! They nickel and dime EVERYTHING and they give nothing out for free, not even an in-flight snack or soft drinks! You even have to pay for your CARRY-ON!! And you better not be an ounce over 40 pounds on your checked bag or you'll get charged a hefty oversized fee. Fortunately, my suitcase was less than 30 pounds but my friend had to stuff some stuff in my bag since hers was 1 pound over and they were going to charge her! As for the flight itself, we left late because they apparently miscounted the number of passengers on their books. I wasn't expecting in-flight entertainment but at least put in outlets to charge devices so we can watch our own entertainment! The take off was so bumpy and I got so queezy that I nearly cried. And some might be happy about this, but I was disappointed to see that the seats did not have the ability to lean back a bit. I am giving Frontier two stars instead of just one because I feel sorry for the staff as they seem worn out but still are kind. And I didn't die on my flight, so that's a plus!

Coming home , we were in row behind the middle exit and flight attendant asked us if we knew what we had to do. treated us like children. No snacks for free, not even a cup of water on either trip. Attendants did not help in any way, but kept saying how much they valued all of us. Also, they never shut up, kept talking while some slept and I tried to read. Pilots are great , got us there and back safely. Attendants attended to very little. Also Frontier owes us $600 dollars from a trip in 2022. We've tried repeatedly to get the money when the plane was broken and we had to find our own way to our destination. We will never fly Frontier again if we have a choice.

They called back 20 minutes later to confirm. All good. Then the next day I call an hour before they are supposed to be there, still all good. Then they don't show. They are 15 minutes late. I call and the dispatcher says he will be there in 5 minutes. 20 minutes pass without word. I call and she says he will be there right away. Then the cab driver calls to say he can't find me. The dispatcher says she can't help me and I can only give the cab driver my address so many times. They claimed I gave them the wrong area but I'm not from there so I wouldn't have even been able to guess at another place to send the cab. I ended up being an hour late for work and all i heard from the driver and the dispatcher were excuses and rudeness. I will never take this company again.

I figured they may have been a bit busy so i waited an hour then called back. The nice receptionist (same one) said she never got a call from my location. She also said she would investigate and call me right back. I found other means of transportation in the mean time. 45 mins later the cab driver called me to let me know he was outside my house. i was no longer there cause i had no idea anyone was still coming. my suggestion: Get it together. Make sure your employees know what they are doing. i even double checked my phone just to make sure i did dial the correct # twice. its not me.
