If I had to best describe the Tree House Arcade, I'd sum it up as - when Dave n' Busters meets…read moreChuck E. Cheese. Because it's an arcade about the size of the latter (perhaps smaller) with vibes that appeal to Gen-X gamers. Also, they don't feature a food menu...unless the candy behind the ticket station counts. Now, if you're into the classics the aforementioned generation of kids enjoyed back in the day, we've got greats like Pac-Man, Pac-Woman, Galaga, Space Invaders, and more! Not to mention my all time favorite kinesthetic game: SKEE-BALL!! They even have an updated 3D version of Space Invaders; though, I'd highly recommend anyone with epilepsy to skip this one. So, for those not in the know, everything payment wise is digital for the most part. You can purchase your play pass cards at any of the kiosks near the entrance. The tickets you earn from each game are also digital. I mention this because it's a concept wifey nearly missed at first (we're among the generation accustomed to receiving paper tickets from the slot). My most minor complaint about this place, however, is the pricing of the games. Interval wise, they seem almost random. Like, why couldn't they at least round everything off to the nearest dollar? Just make games range from $1.00, $1.50, $2.00, etc. Instead, you get all the old school games for 75 cents. Skee-Ball was a buck 25 for some reason. And some games seemed a bit steep for what they were offering. Bowling was $2.50, though I must admit, it's quite an addicting game. Yeah, overall...not a bad way to kill some time if you're waiting on a rez, event, or whatever. But I agree with others when they said this arcade is quite pricey. I realize inflation's a thing but GEEZ! They have different package levels to choose from when selecting your play pass. But you'd be surprised how quickly one can burn through $50 worth of games. Tree House Arcade is worth 4 games of Galaga out of 5.

We are a very inexperienced group of bowlers and they kindly put us on the farthest lane. The food server promptly took our food order and checked up on us a few times. The other family (from out of town) really liked the food and especially the pricing (considering we were thinking about Foxwoods's High Roller bowling lounge. A similar package was $300) We ordered (3 at $4 each) hot Suppi stuffies, and order of (4) breadsticks with beer cheese (amazing), a Mac and cheese (topped with crispy bacon and toasted breadcrumbs) with (4) wings combo, and a pepperoni pizza (in addition to the cheese pizza in our package). For the 6 of us (2 of them being children) we still took home some left overs. Like I said - we're inexperienced bowlers and it took us 2 hours to play 2 games of bowling on 1 lane for the 6 of us. Our 2 hours fell right on our 10th frame of the second game and they were nice enough to add 10 minutes to our game. Make sure to tip the staff and servers. They were super helpful and friendly. We will be back soon!

When hearing a name like "High Rollers Luxury Lanes", you might imagine guests bowling in full…read moretuxedos or perhaps merely black ties and suits. Actually, the dress code seems more lax than even their site description suggests. It was shockingly vacant this Fourth of July evening. Let that not be a testament to their apparent popularity level; but rather, the typical American's propensity to get plastered via pre-gaming as their search for a solid fireworks show compels them to parts unknown. It's this lack of attendance, however, that gives me the vibe we literally could have waltzed in here wearing anything shy of a scantily clad bathing suit or something. See, usually...it's other guests that complain about folks' attire more so than the business itself. At least, in my experience. Nevertheless, I avoided their 3 big no-nos: no baseball caps, tank tops, or basically any attire that makes one otherwise appear to be an "undesirable" after 7PM. Translation: if you wear some kind of fancy hat with non-ripped jeans and a clean shirt, you'll fit in just fine. Naturally, we came in with the intent to shoot some pool. There are 3 tables, each prorated at $10 per half hour (even though the site just says $20 an hour). I guess they train the bartenders to say the first thing so that it sounds cheaper when said aloud. Small caveat at the time of writing this review: one of their pool tables is faulty due to a rather noticeable tear on the fabric. Luckily for us, we were forewarned by the greeting staff at what I'll assume to be the bowling check-in desk. Although we didn't try any food seeing as how we came in right after having dinner at Cedars Steakhouse, the drinks were on point. Plus, the table we used was perfectly level. We didn't like the fact there was no cue assist aiming stick for those hard-to-reach-shots (IYKYK). Outside of that, there's really nothing bad to say about this lounge. Perhaps when we visit Foxwoods again, we'll actually try the food next time around. Keeping this one in my back pocket, I'm giving High Rollers Luxury Lanes & Sports Lounge 5 eight balls in the corner pocket out of 5.

They truly have a little something for everyone, from a full bar with TVs to an arcade for extra entertainment. The bowling experience was great, with spacious lanes and a surprisingly luxurious ambiance that elevated the whole vibe. The drinks were perfectly curated, and our server was friendly and attentive. They were kind enough to let us know about the Sunday Funday special, which is an excellent deal--especially for families. It's perfect for a family of four and includes bowling, shoe rental, and pizzas, making it both fun and budget-friendly. Overall, a great spot for families, groups, or anyone looking to unwind and have a good time off the casino floor.

The Windjammer ended up being exactly what I needed I didn't order any food this visit because I was really just looking for a quiet spot to enjoy a drink while waiting for the crowds to die down. And I'm so glad I stopped in. The mudslide was phenomenal. My dad has always made my favorite mudslides, and he'd probably hate me for saying this... but this one was even better. It was perfectly creamy, smooth, and absolutely delicious. One thing that really surprised me was how spacious the bar actually is. From photos online, it looked like it might feel a little cramped, but that couldn't have been further from the truth. The layout is open, there are multiple ways to access the outdoor seating areas, and it never felt claustrophobic. The outdoor space is another huge plus. Between the cornhole boards, ladder ball, and plenty of room to spread out, it's the kind of place where you could easily spend an entire afternoon with friends or family. Most importantly, the staff was wonderful. Everyone was welcoming, friendly, and made the atmosphere feel relaxed from the moment I walked in. Whether you're looking for a lively afternoon with games or just a comfortable place to escape the crowds for a while with a great drink, the Windjammer is well worth a stop.

Having just come in from that same direction, I was well aware that the stoplight that we initiated by pressing the crosswalk button is right around a blind curve. I made sure that the first car actually stopped before I started through the crosswalk, but just as we were almost to the other side, I heard a huge crash that shook me to my core. We turned around, still partially in the street to see that a vehicle that had come around the corner was unable to stop in time and smashed into the car that was stopped at the crosswalk. Luckily no one was injured, but the sound and the proximity and the fact that there was some sort of lingering feeling that our crossing the street caused this accident put me in a really bad headspace. We stayed out in front of the museum for a while to make sure everyone was okay and the cars were moved out of the street but there was debris everywhere and I did have to sit down at a picnic table for about 5 minutes to calm down. All that being said, we actually enjoyed this Museum quite a bit once we got past what had happened. We have visited multiple Maritime museums in the last month and I can honestly say this was probably the best one. If you're at all interested in Maritime history, or just history even, sailing or boat craftsmanship, anything like that really, you will enjoy your visit here. This is not really a museum in the traditional sense. It's kind of like walking through a village in time. You can wander through historic buildings and watch live demonstrations of traditional skills like blacksmithing or rope making or sail stitching. Don't be afraid to go inside the buildings and interact with the employees. The immersive parts of this Museum are the best because they help you to feel like you're really experiencing what it was like instead of just reading about it. I think my favorite part was getting too board and tour a historical boat that was moored in the river. I don't recall what it is named, but you can board and walk around and even go down below deck. You can really get a feel for what life was like on one of these boats. I'm 5'7 and I had to duck the entire time. The beds were so tiny it was as if they were for children. It's crazy to think of grown men being packed down there like sardines. We also enjoyed checking out the lighthouse. They show a little movie inside but you can't actually go up. That was a quick stop and a little photo op but fun nevertheless. We ended up spending a lot longer here than we had anticipated because we really enjoyed the demonstrations and the historical feel of it all. It was dog friendly which is important to us but we also found a little reading room and a nice playground area so I know it would be great for children as well. Even after such a rocky start, I was really glad that we visited here and I highly recommend a stop if you can. Plan to spend at least a couple of hours here and wear comfortable shoes because the ground is gravelly and you will cover more of it than you think.
