I have a severe dental fear. I made an appointment for a cleaning because they specifically had laughing gas advertised on their website. Well, guess what? After confirming with them on the phone beforehand this would be an option and going through the cleaning, they surprise me with "we don't do that here except for specific treatments :)" Why. Did. Your. Staff. say they did???? Why do you have it listed as an option on your website with zero mention of that small catch? They watched me literally cry in their office from my deep fear and sat there and kept insisting they couldn't. They straight-up tricked me to get me into their office. They also referred me to a different place saying "oh, they do laughing gas" only for it to be for nothing as the place they referred me to doesn't have it as an option whatsoever. They did not give a damn. Well, fast forward to last night. They called because of the initial posting of my review and apologized. I took the review down, thinking I had been a bit hostile, and asked about possibly getting an anti-anxiety pill before the appointment to get through it like most dentists are GLAD to give. Nope. Can't do it. No reason as to why, just that they don't want to, LOL. They do not want to help you with your fears. Telling someone to "not be scared" is honestly an insult and shows me this practice has zero understanding of how dental anxiety works. They just want your business. They don't care beyond that. I will not be taking down my review unless they can actually help me as their website falsely states they can.

Waited an hour in the waiting room, was brought in by some male assistant took xrays and was seated in an open room(no patient privacy whatsoever). Back office was messy, dirty, SMELLY. I literally was asking myself what am I doing here??! Doctor comes in, doesn't introduce himself, left me with my words in my mouth attending to another patient across the room comes back and is not comforting at all regarding the 4 extractions. I wanted to do 2 at a time instead of all 4 at once , and he told me its not ideal because the pain is going to be the same. I finally asked how is this going to be done, what can I expect..? Because had i not finally asked, he would have just started doing without letting me know whats going on. Came in as a second opinion for my 10 year old son. He started his braces (one appointment only)…read morebut I became very unhappy once I realized my son's orthodontist once again changed his treatment plan. But now to something that included a root canal on his front tooth. Absolutely not! I want to say - I know medical/dental there are alot of variation in treating patients but my son's case I admit can be more complex compared to the next child but....... I felt that Dr. Salem's treatment plan was much more sound and was supported with clear patient education that made complete sense to me. The previous Ortho I started my son with changed his proposed treatment plan 3times in one month. First proposed at initial consultation, second time at the second appt when placing the molar spacers, and a third time at the banding. All this in a matter of one month time. Teeth do not change that fast. Anyway... Dr. Karim put all the cards out on the table and was aware of all the obstacles and possibilities my son may face as treatment progresses. Not only did he know what he was talking about (I came here based on a highly reliable referral) he also had great chairside manner! Once the consult appt was over I sat with Julliana and she explained about what to do from this point to transfer my case. I like her. She's down to earth and very efficient. Looking back, I wish this had been addressed during treatment, as it's something that's quite visible. At the time, i trusted the process and his academic background. I would have appreciated more attention to detail in the finishing phase, or at least a clear explanation if there was a clinical reason this couldn't be corrected. I am now speaking to other orthodontists that report that this was not the good approach to treatment. That said, everyone else was fine.

Dr. Gheewalla fixed my son's permanent bottom retainer, after my son had bent it, flossing, such that it was now irritating his tongue. As well, Dr. Gheewalla came through, again, when my son needed a consult with a periodontist. Dr. G. not only supplied us with names of excellent area periodontists but also conferred with both of them to pave the path of our son's obtaining an immediate appt., sooner than later. Turned out to be a very minor issue (kale stuck under my son's gum) but still needed a professional to extricate it without damaging the gum. Fact: excellent practitioners refer to other excellent practitioners. I know other students in my son's college community who have been seen by Dr. Gheewalla, and both parent and student report being extremely pleased with both Dr. G's expertise and clinical manner. Dr. G is a product of Tufts Dental school, another reason he is a superlative orthodontist. Highly, highly recommend.

I can tell he has a 'patient first' mentality and is very honest in his assessment. He won't advise you treatments (especially costly ones) unless he feels you truly need it. I've had my fair share of dentists in three different states (NYC, GA, NC) but Dr. Schweier by far is the best. I can say this because (1) right before Labor Day, I woke up with severe tooth ache. I had no idea why. The clinic was able to see me that same day and Dr Schweier was able to quickly pinpoint the root cause after a thorough examination -- it turned out my tooth nerve had died and I needed a root canal. He had a strong sense of urgency and really wanted to make sure this gets addressed ASAP as more severe things can happen if the root canal treatment gets postponed. Keep in mind root canal is not a short process and I was nervous about going back home with a tooth ache and things getting worse. Even though he had a tight schedule, he was gracious enough to move things around and treated me right away! If he hadn't done that, my Labor Day weekend would've been miserable with the severe front tooth ache and I would be worried about infection. I really appreciate his sense of urgency and care for me! (2) I dread any form of cavity drilling and mentioned this to Dr. Schweier. In my experience, anesthesia never eliminated the pain and that nerve pinching discomfort from drilling. But today during my visit, Dr. Schweier and his assistant Joice were super gentle and made the drilling and cavity filling absolutely painless!!! To my surprise, this is a first for me! He joked he'll increase the anesthesia dosage but I'm sure his skilled techniques played a big role. He and Joice really make a great team and he treats his staff with respect which is great. (3)receptionists and assistants are very professional and nice. I also got my teeth cleaned here by the hygienist - she's very thorough and takes her time. I definitely recommend Dr. Schweier for anyone!
