I got an emergency appointment and the Dentist who saw me was nice enough and focused "only on the tooth that i complained about". He then informed me that there are issues around that tooth that could also be causing pain and I should come in for a cleaning and a comprehensive exam. I did that one week later, which was still filled with pain. I got another set of zrays (I had given the clinic two previous sets that were recent) and then waited two hours for the dentist who came and said that he has to go home in 10 min and doesn't have time to see me. He did inform me that I have a cavity but that he also had a long day and didn't have time to deal with that. I was given an appointment a week later. I can't believe this is what counts as good health care in Boston. Oh I then got called after I left the clinic because they were worried I would give them an infectious disease and told me that I needed to be medically cleared. I informed them that this was not only discrimination but illegal and they said they will check before confirming the appointment. They did eventually confirm the appointment but by then I was sufficiently traumatized that I found another place to get treated. The good marketing is as far as it gets, they don't care about their patients at all. We are just dollar signs to them.

His office is difficult to deal with administratively (at best). Technologically, they're stuck in the 1980's, both in dental equipment and office equipment. His hours are limited, even more so in the summer. And I always walk away from a session with the dental hygienist feeling like my mouth has gone five rounds with Mike Tyson, and with the same condescending, rote lecture about flossing more, every. single. time. When I left I asked for my dental records to show to my new dentist. They emailed them three days later, which was fine, except I asked for them to post my x-rays to me as well and it's been five weeks of me emailing every week and *not once* have they bothered to even respond, let alone post the x-rays. I paid for those x-rays. But no f*cks have been given, as far as I can tell. Probably for the best. My new dentist has uncovered multiple cavities that Dr. Depremio's office completely overlooked, as well as replaced my one silver filling, which was roughly three decades old and should apparently have been replaced after the first decade. Something pretty damn obvious to a competent and engaged dentist - you would think.

My two front teeth are chipped and I have been getting composite work completed for years by two different trusted dentists. After moving and doing a lot of research on which dentist provides quality cosmetic work in Boston I booked with CDG. During the initial appointment I was offered crowns, veneers, or composite, and decided to go with composite for the time due to finances. The dentist assured me they could perform composite (I had asked directly because the dentists seemed nervous during the consult). The result of the initial composite work is pictured below and I was extremely unhappy with the uneven and boxy work. You can clearly see one tooth is much bigger than the other and both two front teeth look boxy. The dentist trimmed the tooth down slightly before encouraging me to leave and "call back if I am still unhappy" the next week. I called back and it took me months to get in to have a correction. The second dentist simply added on top of the old composite instead of replacing the whole thing, and the "correction" fell off within 3 months. In the past I have had dentists tell me adding "corrections" on top instead of replacing all of the composite is very weak and is more susceptible to chipping. Given that this work only lasted 3 months I would say that is accurate. I am very unhappy with the care I received here. I will add that the dentist I consulted with for veneers seemed very helpful and if you are looking to get veneer work done this office may be a good fit for you. However, if you are looking for bonding/composite work for chipped or broken teeth I would not go to CDG. In addition to the poor care I have had difficulties with billing. I was quoted that my insurance would cover 100% of the cost before treatment. My insurance changed after this procedure and CDG kept billing the wrong insurance, even though I called to clarify billing start and end dates several times. My insurance ended up only covering a portion of the treatment plan and CDG sent me a bill. When I called to ask why I wasn't quoted that insurance wouldn't cover hundreds of dollars of the procedure they didn't have any help to offer beyond payment plans. Especially for work that I continue to be unhappy with (and has already broken again) I will not be paying hundreds of dollars more than what I was quoted.

This was the worst visit I've had to any doctor in my life and I literally left in tears. I was a…read morenew patient and came during my work day expecting that a standard exam and cleaning would be about an hour. After a slew of X-rays and scans, the Dr. came in with 0 introduction, looked at my teeth for 5 mins and proceeded to tell me I had a plethora of issues (which I've never had before). She told me I had "a handful" of cavities.. what doctor describes anything to a patient as "a handful" and doesn't give specifics? She also said I needed two crowns and had gum issues. I have never had issues like this before in my life so for someone to pop in for five mins with no further explanation and then leave was upsetting. The hygienist then told me that I needed a "deep cleaning" which would require two visits and for them to numb each side of my mouth. They actually refused to give me a regular cleaning. A front desk person came into the room with a packet of info about the cleaning and sat there and stared as she told me to sign - super awkward and made it uncomfortable to read through the info/costs. Finally after TWO HOURS I left with only HALF my mouth numbed and cleaned. I had to then come back at a later date for the second half of the cleaning. During both visits I asked for receipts to be emailed to me - I didn't get it either time. I followed up afterward and got one of the two receipts. I also had to email them five times to get copies of my X-rays. Oddly no one EVER followed up about making an appt for the so called cavities or crowns. If I had such issues, wouldn't it be imperative that I make an appt right away? The front desk only insisted that I make an appt in three months for my next deep cleaning. When I told her I'd check my a schedule and get back to her she said "no, let's make one now to get it on the schedule". I said no thanks and left. They are unbelievably persistent about scheduling in advance and will continue to hound you via calls, texts, and emails. Take a look at the other Citidental Boston location Yelp reviews where people have had very similar experiences to mine. Avoid this place at all costs. I have since gone to other dentists who confirmed the so-called work CITIDental suggested that I needed was unnecessary.

I can't say definitely they were taking advantage of me not being a dentist and charging me for unnecessary things, but it feels that way. The dental hygienist Adam was not. He did not stop drilling when I told him he was hurting me and he ended the appointment by telling me I had "poor dental hygiene". Ouch on both fronts. Pre-cleaning I had some insurance struggles and the receptionist was very helpful and pleasant. The waiting room is small but clean. The cleaning itself was pretty uncomfortable. I kept getting sprayed in the face. Adam did wipe my face with a napkin at some point but I was damp for most of the cleaning. They provided safety glasses to protect my eyes from the spray but those were dirty from a previous patient. The X-ray was difficult because I have a small mouth but the tech was sweet and did her best. I was offered the option of having a doctor do my cleaning next time but honestly I will probably cancel my follow-up and find a new dentist. I would not recommend Boston Smiles to a friend.
