I went in with reasonable expectations, this is perfectly acceptable, edible, I'd eat here again food. There's lots of parking. I was actually surprised how large it is inside. I met a friend I haven't seen in probably nearly 17 years for lunch on a Friday. We never felt rushed or pressured to hurry up. I didn't notice much of a wait but it was nearly always full. A good indication of quality. When you first walk in there's a dessert case and they all looked tasty. I knew I was in a good place. They serve breakfast all the time. Score. I had a Swiss cheese omelet I requested it well done because I don't like it runny or slimy-it still was and that's really why I didn't give a 5. I didn't want to be a pain and send it back so I dealt with it. I ate the whole thing, I just wish it hasnt been undercooked. I got the breakfast potatoes. They are exactly perfect the way I like them, some bits nice and crispy and other bits soft but cooked through. (I'm going to come here again because of the potatoes). I had a grilled hard roll and coffee. They offer flavored creamers which I like. My friend got ham and two eggs but added a third with toast. She liked her food as well. I got two slices of rainbow cake to go. Let me tell you-it was fantastic. My mom and I both liked it a lot except this is going to be oddly specific, the blue and green layers, the frosting on the back of them has something EXTREMELY crunchy in the frosting. It felt like those little hard decoration balls and they were very unpleasant. My mother also commented about something crunchy in the frosting so she didn't care for it either. Another reason I didn't go full 5 on my review. The frosting on the other layers up was fine. It was really tasty. The cake was moist and not dried out. I noticed it was pretty popular. The service was good. It was really busy and we tried to flag our server down a few times and she didn't see me and that's okay we were there for two hours and she had a large section and like I said we weren't exactly campers but we were catching up and we weren't her priority and this is perfectly acceptable. My wife and I stopped in after watching a movie at the AMC theater down the street. She had the fish fry and I had liver and onions. The liver was absolutely delicious and the portion was impressive. One star only because I can't leave a negative. Our server was a young girl who clearly hadn't been in the job very long. She didn't listen. My salad was rotting.l and wet and consisted of ice berg lettuce with a neat of some purple thing on top and two cherry tomatoes starting to go bad. My clam chowder wasn't even warm. The broiled scallops were broiled into almost rocks. My husband's sirloin came well done on one side, bloody on the other. I have come to Atlantic many times over the years to grab breakfast with family. This is one of our go to spots when it comes to a nice brunch, though I haven't had too much of their dinner options. My favorite dishes are amongst their fresh egg and omelette options, however I recently tried their cheeseburger club with a side of fries and loved it! The staff is usually very helpful, though sometimes the food can take a little longer since they tend to be busy. Positives: big parking lot, big menu, staff were friendly and attentive to us. The pancakes were very tasty and the blueberry topping on the side was very generous and came with whipped cream too. I actually liked that they put it on the side so you could control the portions. The syrup bottle was clean and not sticky. I thought the seating was comfortable. Prices are very affordable. The hummus with pita was also good. Lots of creamers available on the table I'm assorted flavors. Bathrooms were clean. Cons: sausage links were overcooked. I don't know if anyone re-filled my glass of water while I was there. We have come in a large group twice and it seems like they aren't sure where to put us. Was there last Saturday, ordered a hot turkey sandwich that comes with gravy. Ask if I can get gravy on the side, cause I didn't want all that on my food. Ordered the hamburgers. Came with fries which were just OK, and skimpy. The hamburger was just that-+ just a Patty of meat. No lettuce, no tomato, no onion. For a slice of tomato it was $1 extra! For $11.00 you would expect more of a complete plate. Very chintzy. Won't go back. The only reason I have it 2 stars rather than 1 was that the service was good. We moved down south years ago and have noticed that they don't have diners/family restaurants like they do up here... so while visiting the ROC, we wanted to find a good diner/family restaurant. There were ample choices but a friend highly recommended the Atlantic. The parking lot was PACKED when we rolled in around 1pm on a Wednesday. We initially thought we were going to have a huge wait. Luckily, we were seated right away. Plenty of seating and despite the crowded parking lot, we didn't feel like it was packed inside. And by the way, apparently this is the happening joint for folks over 80. We were the youngest in the place by a long shot. The menu was vast and we decided on 2 Turkey clubs and our kiddos picked: Mickey Mouse pancakes, chicken fingers/fries and hotdog/fries. Food came out fairly quick and was accurate. We haven't had club sandwiches in AGES and they hit the spot! And what is it about diner fries which makes them so much better than other fries? And what is it about those typical old diner plates with the brown rim around the edge that makes food so much better? If your order gets served on a brown rimmed plate, you know it's going to be good. The only reason for 4/5 stars was that I just didn't feel like our waitress was overly friendly. I tried making small talk at the initial meeting and she didn't really respond. She checked on us enough but just didn't have that "I work for tips" happy attitude. My friend and I stopped in for a fish fry. Our waitress was young and not friendly. She always seem to be in a hurry; although, we knew what we wanted. We asked for sweet potato fries with our order. They came to us burnt; not exaggerating. Our waitress tried telling us they came that way, and next time ask....I interrupted, "Don't tell me people eat these burnt." This restaurant needs to be on Gordon Ramsey's tv show Kitchen Nightmares. Service was terrible, staff all seemed extremely slow and rude. There was no ketchup or extra napkins on any of the tables. We stopped one evening when Red Robin had a 30 minute wait. Looked like a nice place. Very large. Good service, though when my drink was empty I was not asked if I wanted a refill, nor was one brought. I saw a couple reviews that mentioned large portions, but honestly, I was a bit disappointed. As you can see in the photos, we each got a burger and fries. Pretty typical for the portion of fries, however the burger was a disappointment. Super thin on a thick bun. I took a photo from the side and the patties are VERY thin. The other disappointment was that, for the price of the meal and drinks, you only get 1 refill on drinks. Considering how dry the burger was, that was a disappointment. Have a look at our receipt. For two of us to have a burger and fries with soft drink it was over $30.00!!! read more

My friend and I met here for dinner and had an unpleasant experience. The host that sat us down was on his phone. He asked how many, I said 2 and he grabbed 2 menus and put them on the table. Then he walked away without saying anything to us. The menu is huge and I never know if I can trust things like burgers at a diner, so I got the buffalo chicken wrap and so did my friend. We asked for a couple of changes and both came to us incorrectly. They also both tasted "funny." We didn't want to eat anymore of it. We told the server and he had to get permission to take it off the bill. The manager did take it off the bill, which we are glad he did (I don't know who wouldn't). We then ordered breakfast, since you can't really screw that up. The food was fine and when we were done, the waiter never removed our dishes. Regardless, we still tipped 20% (mine on the table and my friend's in her credit card). When we went up to pay, it was the same host that sat us and he was still his unpleasant self. I was here on Wed. 9/28. We had a wonderful waitress but we had 2 issues. 1. Ordered a grilled cheese. It had a very thin slice of cheese on it. Was mostly bread. They could have spared 2 slices. 2. Ordered a piece of banana cream pie on the way out. Paid for it and then had to ask 3 times who was going to get the slice to go. The young lady behind the counter was put out. She finally gave it to me. I got home and took one bite and it ended up being a lemon cream pie. She grabbed the wrong pie out of the case when she went in the back to slice it. She also never returned the pie back to the refrigerated case. This slice of pie ended up in the garbage. It was disgusting no less not being the right kind. I went to Atlantic Family Restaurant with my family. I ordered a turkey Rueben sandwich for my dinner. The waitress brought me a Rueben sandwich with corned beef. I asked her to politely to please take it back and bring me a turkey Reuben sandwich. She came back to the table and said that the owner said that if I wanted a turkey Reuben sandwich they would have to charge me for both sandwiches and wouldn't take the corned beef sandwich off the bill. I told her that I wouldn't pay for the for a second sandwich and the owner refused to take the Reuben with the corned beef off the bill so I left the restaurant having to pay for something that was thrown away and I didn't eat and didn't have anything to eat for my dinner. I will never step foot in this restaurant again and am completely appalled by the way I was treated. read more

When a diner is busy, usually that is a good sign it is delicious. This stands true for Atlantic. The wait on a Sunday morning wasn't terrible; maybe 20min at most. I ordered the Round the Clock with 2 eggs over easy, french toast and sausage links. I also ordered corned beef hash extra crispy. The order came out accurately and didnt take long to arrive. Everything was hot and fresh. Definitely a fan of the corned beef hash with the crispy bits. I should have ordered a side of toast to soak up the egg. Walked away full and satisfied. read more

The waitress was great! I was craving haddock fish and picked this place! I ordered the mini fish baked potato and onion rings. They first forgot my rings which came much later. My potato was watering taste. My haddock was so overcooked it was hard. They refused to recook but ended up doing baked I got it Togo. I guess this is low grade diner food. Stopped here today with my friend for lunch. We were seated quickly and our server also arrived at our table fast. They have a nice selection of all kinds of dishes from Greek, Italian, breakfast choices, burgers and many dessert choices. I had Chicken and biscuits and my friend got a western burger which looked delicious. My chicken and biscuits were ok but I prefer more vegetables in the dish. They only had onions and carrots which could have been cooked more. There was a lot of chicken chunks and a flavorful gravy. It was good but not excellent. Really not sure why this place has such a low rating! The rueben I ordered was absolutely delicious and the cup of chili I had for an appetizer was good as well. We had a larger group with us but they were incredibly accommodating and everyone I was with seemed to enjoy their meals. Our server was a little short but this hardly would justify a low rating. Not the old Atlantic Family Restaurant of bygone days... much better. First off, I was a regular here back in the oughts when I worked in the area. Since then it's been overhauled and upgraded, but the prices haven't changed much, which is notable! The two of us can grab a late morning breakfast here & (with tip) escape for less than $15.00. We're good tippers, so that in itself should say a lot. Haven't come here for lunch/dinner in a while, so this review is breakfast centric. The Duchess & I both like our eggs over medium, me with home fries (crispy) and her with hash browns. Both of our orders came out perfectly. Very tasty. Bonus points awarded for well-perked coffee. For those out there who liked flavored creamer, the Atlantic proffers Hazelnut and Irish creamers. No generic Sysco jelly here... well stocked Smucker's jams and jellies. Service was brisk and efficient. What more could you ask for? I will have to gather members of the old burger squad to join me for a lunch evaluation. I do recall that the Atlantic Family Restaurant had one of the best Garbage Plates. I would wager, based on the breakfast, that they still do! In summary, the Atlantic is well worth the drive to Webster... and the $$ you save will be well worth the trip! read more

Food was adequate at best. Service was poor as waitress kept forgetting my mom's food. Though this was the case none of that would prompt this review. It's the owner of this establishment that will never, ever see a dime of my money again - nor the rest of the people in my party of 5. This owner belittled a high school aged kid in front of a dozen plus people waiting to be seated in his restaurant. While I don't know the background of why this young man was being reprimanded; I don't care - as the treatment of this young man was insulting, rude, and I'm sure embarrassing for him. My mom made a comment to the owner about his treatment of this young man and he lashed out at my mother. He was quick to tell her off so it's my impression this wasn't the first time he's heard this. He was a bully to this teen and very rude and condescending to my mother. One of the people in our party mentioned there are always "HELP WANTED" signs in the windows. No wonder. If you're looking for a decent dinner, this isn't the place. If you're looking for good service, go elsewhere. And if you're looking for a job, and want a respectful boss, definitely don't apply here. read more
