We love the SNI! We recommend it often when asked for a suggestion for a peaceful getaway. We stay every year and love everything about it, especially the Dusty Miller 'SNI' out front. The gardener is a genius and incredibly personable to boot!!

My wife and I went to the Stage Neck for our 30th anniversary. It is very clean and the staff was very attentive. We had dinner there, both nights of our stay, and found the food to be very good. Price wise, it is on the pricey side, but you get great food. My only thing was that I thought the shrimp was a little over cooked for an appetizer. (see photo) When you stay over, they have a complimentary breakfast buffet. This not the type you get at the Holiday Inn express! The food was fresh and the variety was awesome. I would recommend going there just for the buffet if you are staying in the area. If you have mobility issues, there is an elevator. The beaches looked nice, but not really accessible for someone in a wheel chair. If you are interested in a nice quiet place to stay then this is the place.

Enjoyable stay every time. This was a trip I surprised 3 of my grandkids. They Enjoyed lunch and breakfast. Spending time in our room, with my Shadow. Thanksi

Pros: We had an amazing view, and fell asleep to the sound of the ocean. The room was spotless, well laid out, and the bed was insanely comfy. We added the romance package, which included a bottle of prosecco, chocolates, late check out, and room service breakfast--all of which was delicious. The beach was lovely--decided to go for a dip even though it's freezing. Good safety protocols--temp check, stickers to ensure from the outside that a room has been cleaned, everyone in masks. Cons: There are none. This was one of the best nights in a hotel ever.

We had an amazing little weekend getaway at the Stage Neck Inn. The staff was incredibly friendly, the premises was beautifully decorated for Christmas and everything was pristine. We got a king suite with a view of the ocean and we were so glad we did! The bed was so comfortable (I seriously want all this bedding), we loved the robes, and the seating in the room. Breakfast was delicious and you just couldn't beat the views! We will definitely be doing this again!

Took a short day trip up to York Harbor on our first day in nearby Portsmouth. We stopped at Stage Neck Inn to look around as we had heard nice things about it. Because it was mid-afternoon, and we had lunch about 2 hours ago, we only had coffee and a piece of pie. Normally I would never write a review for such a short, insignificant visit to a place. However, in my brief time at Stage Neck I dealt with 3 young ladies in the main dining room. The first was a high school girl at the check in desk who seated us, then a young black girl (and I only point that out because I didn't get her name) who brought us water and then our main waitress, Kristen. All three of these young women were absolutely exceptional in greeting us, conversing with us and welcoming my partner and I to the Stage Neck Inn. Not sure what this property does to get such talent at such a young age but they turned coffee and pie into a memorable experience. I hope management sees this review and lets the girls know how appreciative we were of their hospitality. This is my first time ever to Maine and if I come back again I'm likely to stay at the Stage Neck as it's a beautiful property with a great staff.

I just wanted to update my review from a year ago and add on a star. We had a really great stay this weekend with our kids. They have completely changed their breakfast buffet from before. They've added so many different options and my kids absolutely loved it! Great job!

Beautiful hotel right on the ocean. We had a last minute change and needed an offsite space for a meeting. I've actually organized many offsite meetings in my time and I have to say this was one of the smoothest easiest experiences I've ever had. The meeting organizer Ruth is just outstanding she knows what she's doing she's available accessible helpful and made everything so easy she's just great at her job. We were a group of 14 in the Shearwater room and we had everything set up on time and the room was beautiful overlooking the ocean and we had the buffet breakfast and we had lunch and we had cocktails and dinner and all of the food was really great the service was exceptional I will definitely go back there with the group again

My friend loves the supper rolls, so we started there and I got a cup of clam chowder. The portions were big and the chowder was a great flavor and consistency - not too thick or too runny. The drinks we ordered were also really good. I made the mistake of getting a regular espresso martini and my friend got the special one with the horchata. I tasted hers and immediately hated myself because it was so good! I had a really well made rye manhattan afterwards - that guy can mix a great drink! And, the cocktail glasses were so classy! 1 star was removed because I ordered the mussels as my entrée and they came out when I was barely halfway into my soup. That is a big pet peeve of mine as I like to finish my appetizer, sit for a few minutes, and then go to the main course. I don't love it when the main is sitting there getting cold as I'm trying to finish my first course. For that reason, I sent them back. They looked great, so I would really like to go back at some point and try them. The restaurant was really good overall, so I definitely want to come back.

With two weddings in house, there were a lot of demands from guests. Still, reception kept a smile and was always pleasant. There are board games near reception in the lobby that you can borrow as a hotel guest. The lobby includes a comfortable seating area, ATM, merch, entrance to their restaurant and bar, and restrooms are down the hall. An elevator leads up to the floors above where guest rooms are located. They also have guest rooms in two nearby buildings. One of those buildings includes balconies overlooking the ocean. Our room, in the main building had an ocean view if you put a chair next to the window and looked out. The bar and restaurant offers a variety of menu items including salad entrees, beers on tap, full bar, coffee and dessert. We ate there a couple of times during our stay. Staff were well trained and the food is fresh and tasty. The parking lot behind the main building is dirt without 'lines' to get as many cars as possible in so some days there were more spaces than others and we often saw guests circling, waiting for a spot. There are handicap spots there with a dirt/gravel walkway street side, then toward the back entrance where you will find an elevator down the hall to the lobby. Otherwise, there is a short staircase from parking to the back entrance. 'Drop off' at the lobby door is literally 'in the street'. No parking there, just drop off, then circle round to park. Parking is also available in front and back of building #2, a small dirt lot is next to the hotel lawn and a few designated hotel parking spots are street side. Just be sure you are in a hotel spot so you don't get ticketed by the town. Our room was clean, but had an odd smell. I went into town and purchased some essential oil spray and a candle which I used throughout our stay. The original building on this site burned down, so I can't blame the smell on an old building, but it's not exactly new either, and it is by the sea so it may be damp. The room included a small table and two chairs, a coffee/tea area with mini-fridge, and plenty of single use toiletries. We did ask housekeeping for additional hand towels during our visit. The bed and linens were comfortable. Towels soft and absorbent. I shower in the evening and it did take a bit of time for hot water to arrive, but once there, it was plentiful. No complaints about water pressure. We kept the window open for a sea breeze so not sure how the AC performs. The wedding staff were very pleasant and the bride and groom seemed quite happy with their event. A wedding on the lawn overlooking the sea was set up the night before. The ballroom used for reception is lovely with restrooms on site, indoor and outdoor bar and plenty of staff on hand for the open bar and passed hors d'oeuvres. The patio outside was partially shaded. Inside has AC. The plated meals were very good. Other event spaces are available in this building plus guest suites. There is a lawn directly across the street from the lobby with lounge chairs for guests to use. The public beach is down a slight slop from the lawn and is quite large with soft sand and some rocky areas that are good for small kids to search for sea creatures. The town of York is right outside the door with lots of gift shops and restaurants. We enjoyed exploring the town as well as nearby sights.

Our room was directly above a wedding reception. The bass came up through the floor and I could hear every song start to finish. My girls normally go to bed at 7:30; they were awake well past ten. I texted the front desk and was told the music would end at ten. Nobody offered to move us and nobody offered anything else. Both girls were exhausted and miserable the next day, which was our only full day here. The dining room and the pub are good -- and that's part of the problem. Both were booked solid, and the people waiting for tables were not hotel guests. Everyone I spoke to had come from somewhere else to eat here. As someone paying roughly $750 a night to stay on the property, I couldn't get a table at my own hotel. If you book a room, book your dinners at the same time, because staying here gets you nothing at the door. Checkout was worse. Valet was required on arrival because of the wedding -- the valet driver and the front desk both told me so -- and nobody mentioned it wouldn't be running Tuesday morning. Our room was in the Meeting House, so I loaded both girls into a double stroller, hung the beach chair and bag off it, put on a full backpack, and dragged a suitcase two blocks to the main building, through second-floor hallways so packed with luggage carts I could barely get the stroller past them. At the desk I was told there was no valet and I'd have to push all of it up the street and around the building to reach my car. No offer of help. I was then directed to second-floor parking access that turns out to have stairs on the other side -- impossible with a stroller -- so we turned around and did it the long way. I wrote to the general manager. Her response is worth knowing if you're considering booking: On the noise: quiet hours begin at 10 PM, the music ended before then, and so guest rooms "including those occupied by families with children" remain available for booking during wedding events. On valet: she said it isn't mandatory. That is not what I was told at the property. On being left to carry two toddlers and all our luggage two blocks, and being sent to a stairs-only door: no response, beyond noting it had been shared with the management team for review. She declined to refund the ruined night and offered $163.50 -- the facility fee plus 10%. If you're traveling with small children, ask whether a wedding is booked the night you're staying, because the hotel's stated position is that they'll put you above it. Ask what happens at checkout. Reserve your meals in advance. The beach is beautiful. Everything else was a fight.

We, as long as others, were doing laps around the main lot and the mini lot for the Harbor Hill Inn trying to find a spot. We ended up having to park on the street because there were not enough spots at Harbor Hill. When checking in, we were told there are enough spots for each room, yet the lot for our Inn was completely full. We were also told that if we found a spot, we shouldn't move the car. We wanted to explore the area more, so we did have to leave, it is odd to me that an Inn doesn't have a better parking situation for Inn patrons. We thought it would be fun to go to the pub for apps and a drink before our dinner reservation at the main restaurant. Unfortunately, we were met with an hour long wait for 2 at the pub. I do find it interesting when an Inn doesn't open up reservations or spots for their own guests to dine, rather than locals. When we did go to our dinner reservation, we had a nice time. Our waiter was helpful. When the food came, they brought out a wrong dish. The boy that brought it out told us he wished we said something before he put it on the table because now the dish couldn't be used. We weren't able to tell it wasn't the right dish until it was in front of us.... we then waiting 15 minutes for the right food to come out. Our waiter had them remake my meal as well since it got cold, which was nice. The food was great once we finally had it. They also comped 50% of the wrong dish which was also nice. After dinner we had drinks and headed back to our room to go to bed. A phone call woke us up. It was the front desk; they told us that "Someone came into the lobby furious that our room is being so loud. They said that last night, this morning and this evening we have been ridiculously loud." I told the person on the other line that we have been asleep in bed, and we only checked in this evening. I find it curious that the front desk wouldn't look who was in the room and if we had even been there the day prior. Then, instead of offering an apology, they said "well do you hear any noise?" I said earlier the room next to us was making some noise but nothing like they are describing. They then said, "well which side, right or left?" I said I do not know I need to go back to bed. There was no meter or sineage where the car was parked. Upon entering the ocean view king suite we were impressed with the size and style of the unit. As we sat down on a weathered pull out couch we noticed a large coffee stain on the coffee table. We also noticed plentiful crumbs and chocolate chips on the couch (and even more crumbs as we opened the pull out section). Worse still it was clear that the pull out couch long surpassed its useful lifespan and had a large 3 inch sharp piece of metal sticking out. King bedroom was a bit cramped but nice bed and pillows.
