I contacted the utility company June 2nd , explaining to them that my ex husband passed away and I moved back in to take ownership of my home, I have been having issues with his utilities provider regarding his delinquent accounts, so speaking to customer service representative Kendra provided me a email and fax number, I was asked to send my divorce papers and ex husband death certificate. I provided all and called back several times and was told under investigation, on 6/22 I spoke with representative , I was told that he owed $2, 553.00 I asked how could he have been able not to pay without his gas to ve shut off I was informed that she couldn't discuss his arrangement but since my name was on the house I'm responsible to pay, I explained we were divorced and I wasn't living there for 8yrs. I also told her I was asked and provided information to send in documents and she said that hey informed me false information you need to pay or your gas will be shut off then proceeded to say if you have a divorce lawyer call him to help! I felt it was very unprofessional of the representative.

The portion of the bill that Atlanta Gas Light charges is a NON-NEGOTIABLE fee that is charged by every company that uses AGL lines. Also, in regards to the variable fee. ALL gas companies will place you on a variable rate after your term is over if you do not renew. I shared my rate of $.36 with my friend who was with another gas company and she was paying $2.09 per therm. I had two other one paid $1.79 and the other $1.99. It is our job to make sure we are not overpaying. I would also recommend to everyone that you place a reminder on your calendar to remind you to renew your plan before your contract is done. I have saved $100s of dollars and it took me making sure I do my part to make it happen.

This bill is FULL of previously-undisclosed fees. I can't recommend these people. Also, we were on vacation and missed our payment by one day. They charged us a $20 late fee plus $10 to write a late-fee letter even though we had elected to receive all communications electronically. Obviously, I can't complain about the late fee (we were late) but $10 to write a letter? Stay away from Xoom!
