I love their food. Had a bit of everything here from their tacos, specials, enchiladas, fajitas,…read moreand more and I'm never disappointed. This is authentic Mexican food. Spanish is spoken here and when I walk out I know a little bit more Spanish than I did coming in. The servers are super friendly and love their decor inside. Menus are under the glass which is on the table so it's easy to order. Their beans are the best in town hands down and yes that rhymes. You will see me here a lot and until next time.....

On Fridays, we eat tacos…read more Somewhere during the pandemic, my friend group decided we wanted to try birria tacos. We'd heard that there was one place in town where we could get them, which came highly recommended by a friend who'd been here. The caveat was that the birria tacos are only served on Fridays. So we planned to do birria tacos on Friday. We came here and got 4 orders of birria tacos. I added an agua de Jamaica to my order. While we waited, I perused the adjacent grocery store and purchased some Mexican Coca-Colas, conchas, and a box of mango Pulparindo. Soon enough, our order was ready. We took our goodies back to my place, turned on a good movie, and partook in our feast. These tacos are full of flavor. The meat is tender, and the cheese was perfectly melted inside the consome-soaked tortillas. The meal is served with pickled onion and habanero pepper, fresh cilantro and onions, limes, and a house-made hot sauce. Of course, in true birria fashion, there is a cup of hot consome in which to dunk the tacos. The freshness of the condiments perfectly compliments the fatty richness of the tacos. Jamaica is my favorite agua fresca and always reminds me of my favorite Caribbean drink, Sorrel, as they are both made from the hibiscus flower. Though Mexican Agua de Jamaica has a different flavor profile than Sorrel, it always fills me with a sense of comfort and nostalgia. Their Jamaica is delicious and comes in a huge cup, so you always get enough. Since this first visit, we've made taco Fridays a tradition. I always order the birria tacos and agua de Jamaica. I've also tried lots of their other tacos (asada, chicharron, pastor, lengua, etc.) as an add-on to my birria order, but the birria outshines them all. These tacos are absolutely wonderful and I highly recommend adding them to your Friday takeout tradition. Be sure to peruse the pastry case for a fresh dessert to finish your meal and pick up some other treats along the way.

I've been trying to catch this place since I noticed them when I first moved to Greenville…read more Unfortunately, my schedule and their hours never really aligned. I was driving by one evening and saw they were open and pulled over immediately. When I walked up to the window, the lady working warmly greeted me and answered my menu questions. I ordered the shrimp basket with fries, which came with coleslaw. Within 10 minutes, my order was being served. In true COVID fashion, I went to my car, sanitized my hands, and dug in. I always try to capture seafood at the peak of its freshness since styrofoam often causes the food to sweat and makes the breading soggy. The shrimp were fresh, tender, and well-seasoned. The breading was minimal and crispy, and the inside was perfectly cooked. The fries were well seasoned and crispy as well. I was pleasantly surprised by the corn sticks and coleslaw. Both were fresh and clearly homemade and were the perfect complement to the meal. I could not believe the level of quality and freshness that this meal delivered at only $8--what a steal! I immediately hit the group chat to let them know the gem I'd found. They may have strange hours (Closed Sat-Monday with dinner only Tuesday-Thursday and Lunch and Dinner on Friday), but it is most certainly worth it. I will be frequenting the Gold Post on these days. I cannot wait to try their fried fish.

Been wanting to try this carryout but have never been in town on the days open so planned this trip…read morearound their hours. Wanted the chicken and shrimp platter but they didn't have any chicken this day so just had the shrimp platter, good shrimp and fries, coleslaw depends on your taste was too sweet for mine but a good helping if you like it, they substituted the cornbread with white bread which was a real let down when I opened the container as I always look forward to cornbread. All and all ok and would give another chance but make sure they have everything before ordering.
