We got takeout from here last night, we ordered a big family meal so my husband could take it to work the next few days. We got the pulled pork and chopped brisket, cornbread, mac n cheese, baked beans and a bottle of sauce (included). We felt the value for amount of food was great, and I loved that they included smaller containers of most, if not all, of their sauces so we could try them! The corn bread was great, a couple pieces were pretty dark but still warm and fresh. The baked beans, for me, was a highlight! They were so good, whatever sauce they're cooked in was SO good, I ended up dipping my pulled pork/ brisket into that instead of the sauces!! So good!!! Our kids liked the Mac n cheese, we thought it was pretty good too! Loved that the pulled pork came with no sauce, made it super easy to portion it out for my husband and keep it fresh. Thee brisket came sauced, but the flavor was really good so we were fine with that! Overall, we'd definitely do this once in a while. It was about $90 total for the family meal, which is a little steep for a regular family meal. But flavor was great, everything was fresh, and we very much enjoyed it and will have leftovers for days!! read more

This review is based on the food only. The cheeseburger patty had too much pepper; it was a little too greasy. I could barely taste any beef from the burger patty. The French fries were okay nothing special. I have made better at home using potatoes from Walmart. If I eat here again it will not be the burger and fries!! read more

I'm visiting Greenville with my fiancé and he said we needed to come here for the brisket. We share the brisket plate with mac and cheese and I had to try all the sauces. They make them all in house. I've never added vinegar to my meat before and I'm hooked. They have this Alabama white sauce that you have to ask for and that was done so well. All the sauces were tasty. I tried their sweet tea and I'm very particular about sweetness with drinks but I thoroughly enjoyed the balance in their tea. The seasonal treat is strawberry shortcake so I ordered that and there was so much balance in their flavor. I'm partial to strawberry shortcake because it was what I often shared with my late Grandpa. I was so impressed with how good this was and it definitely added nostalgia to the experience. The service here was phenomenal and the place has so much memorabilia honoring service members. Very open and welcoming space. Lots to take in, but not overwhelming. The food was great!! 10/10 Brisket! I would highly recommend! We got takeout from mission bbq and it was ready within minutes. The brisket was amazing and so well seasoned. The Mac and cheese and the cornbread were my favorite sides. This bbq is the best in the area. My favorite sauce is the Memphis Belle which is the most comparable to a typical store bought bbq sauce (thicker not vinegar based). This place is so good!!! Easy parking lot, was able to quickly order, see calories and prices clearly, put our own condiments and we got our food in less than 5 minutes. The meat tasted fresh and worth the money, I subbed the bun for lettuce and the veggies were fresh and crisp. The variety of sauces was a cool touch and definitely enhanced our meal. The employees were nice and the restaurant was clean and very family friendly and military supportive. I would definitely come back here with the family for a fun and nice meal. Stopped in here for dinner with my family as we were passing through on our summer vacation trip. The food was really good, everyone enjoyed their meals. The burnt ends with bbq sauce were great. The place is decorated with pictures of people who have served in various military and police/fire functions. The real star here was Janice. A wonderful lady who greeted my family upon arrival and went above and beyond to make our entire meal and visit special. This is one impressive spot from what I could make of it 20 minutes before closing. The staff friendly and helpful, prompt and efficient. The place is decorated in honor of all those who have served in some way, on and off the field near and afar. Been meaning to try mission bbq based on ownership. Staff was extremely friendly, no banana pudding should have been my sign to leave. Mac n cheez was good, corn bread dry, pulled pork average and brisket typical southeast brisket, gray and dry. Service at this restaurant was absolutely fantastic. Along the walls are lots of unit patches and various memorabilia for those that were in the military to see. The first time I went. I had their ribs and I basically judge a barbecue place by how wel they do on their ribs. Theirs did not disappoint one bit. Just the right mix of fat to meat that the ribs were extremely juicy. The brisket was just okay, came out a little cold and was truly very fatty. I would recommend asking for "lean" instead of "moist" to minimize the fat. I was hoping the fat might be melt-in-your-mouth but it was unpleasantly chewy. The brisket alone earns a 2/5 The pork and turkey were excellent. Pork had a good smoky flavor and was moist, peppery, and delicious. Definitely better than a moores or a Parker's, probably second only to Sam Jones locally. Overall a 4.5/5. The spare ribs were delicious! Good amount of meat and lots of well seasoned bark. A word of caution on that front - if you aren't as comfortable with a tougher bark bite as I was you may not prefer it, as it truly had a BARK. Baked beans were well seasoned and cooked well, fries were seasoned well and had a good crisp, though came out room temp. Green beans were seasoned very well and had a good peppery taste. Coleslaw had good sized chunks of cabbage and was sweet and balanced with a good amount of tang that wasn't overbearing. The mac and cheese was baked with a crumb on top - very good- definitely a homemade experience. Authentic cheesy taste - one of the best I've had at a restaurant. From the greeting and menu explanation to the last bite of food this was what Carolina BBQ is supposed to be. I say Carolina due to the ribs and collards. The brisket is put up against most Texas BBQ. Wife had smoked turkey and brisket. I had the BBQ shrimp and Ribs. Shrimp was fantastic and the ribs were cooked to perfection. This was my first time and will be the last. I asked if the "meat" came with one side or two assuming based on the price. It was explained it was a weighted meat serving. I was expecting so much food that there would be left overs seeing it was just my 8 year old and myself. I splurged on the big cup that includes a donation to local law enforcement so basically $2 can be taken off the $41 total to get an idea of what you get for what they charge. This is counter service order, pick up your own food, fill your own drink and clean up your own mess. The brisket was cold and chewy, the mac and cheese was bland, my son was upset over the "burnt" shrimp. I give a pass on this and now know that he doesn't like "blackened". We ate it for the sake of eating since we were both hungry. The time from order to time called seemed long considering they were not busy at all. I do love the décor but it was hard to admire sitting under a very cold AC vent blowing directly on me. What a Gem! Best barbecue ever. I had the brisket (8 oz), companions had the pulled pork sandwich, the ribs and the combo plate (pulled pork, brisket and jalapeño cheddar sausage). It was all "the best I have ever had!" Service was spot on and food came out very quickly. Seven different sauces on the table to try. We ended up buying two to take home.
