Initially when I called a over a year ago I was spoken to by the Scheduling Receptionist with a rude and condescending tone. I chose to not make an appointment at that time. A few weeks later I called back and was given an appointment for 9 months out. Feb. 2024 I called to give updated information and was told by the 'scheduling receptionist' - "YOU WANT TO COME HERE, WHY WOULD YOU WANT TO COME HERE, THAT'S WEIRD, CAN'T YOU GET HELP FROM OTHER DERMATOLOGISTS IN YOUR AREA?" The person was extremely invasive, condescending and abusive. I called the St. Mary's Location to get help and the Employee Named Paula claimed that she would get me an appointment and send me a SELF-PAY Letter with financial information and she claimed to have been shocked by my experience. 14 days had gone by and I hadn't gotten a letter or a call for an appointment for the St. Mary's Location. I called twice to speak with Paula about it and she said in a very rude tone and acted like I was a burden: "I told MY supervisor about you and she said she would take care of it!" I said: "I hope that my grievance that I shared would not prevent me from becoming an established patient..." THE OFFICE MANAGER NEVER CALLED ME ON HER OWN TO FOLLOW-UP WITH ME UNTIL I CALLED THE SECOND WITH PAULA AND SHARED MY CONCERNS ABOUT NOT BEING A PATIENT. I feel that the GOOGLE REVIEWS ARE BEING 'BOUGHT' because I was not able to POST MY NEGATIVE EXPERIENCE PUBLICLY for Dr. Ashley Cavalier - St. Simons, Ga. My review showed up for only me to see. All of these raving reviews about Dr. Cavalier and since my experience of not getting an appointment in a reasonable manner, and not being worked in, and having to wait a year (ANGEL CALLED AND SAID MAY OF 2024) LEFT A VOICEMAIL AFTER I CALLED TWICE) was a total insult and there was absolutely no respect for My Patient Care/Health. I would like for Dr. Cavalier to know how devastating this has been for me due to what A LOT of patients are saying about her in a positive manner and their medical care and experience. All procedures were performed by assistants. He hasn't been thrilled with the care he has received, but he decided to finish his treatment, rather than change to another practice at this point. He had a 4 pm appointment yesterday and when he arrived, he was told by the receptionist that his doctor had moved to another office, down the hall. This receptionist was rude and nasty and made it seem that he should have known not to come to HER office to bother her. So he went to the new location and told the receptionist there what had just happened. This lady was very nice and apologetic and explained that the doctor had changed offices, the day before, and they were remiss in sending the patients this change of location for their upcoming appointments. So my husband sat down and waited and waited and eventually was led to an exam room where he waited some more. He was there for a full hour and no one even stuck their head in the door to check on him or to apologize for the wait. After an hour, my husband got up, got dressed and walked out of the exam room, past the receptionist, and out the door. No one said one word to him. It was close to a half hour later when he received a phone call from someone in a call center, not even someone who was in the office, and she was calling to reschedule his appointment. She had NO idea that anything had happened or that he had even just been in the office waiting to be seen. She was calling to set up an appointment. My husband then told this whole story and said that he wanted a call from the office manager AND he expected the charge that they made to his credit card for the visit (yes, they charge you BEFORE your visit) to be refunded! He has yet to receive that call from the office manager nor have we received the refund! If we could give NO stars, we would!
