Not a bad experience. Perfect location, walking distance to boardwalk and only 1.5 miles from broadway. Pleasantly surprised w an upgraded room. The room was alright, could use some retouching but overall not too shabby. It seems like the establishment they could use some remodeling, especially the small pool. Only issues: keys malfunctioning about 3 times during our stay. BUT, each time the issue arose, staff (Kenna?) was very apologetic and addressed the issue easily which made every much smoother. Each member of the janitorial staff/maintenance was very polite as well. Lastly, the elevator runs a bit slower than your average but nothing unbearable. Not a bad stay, but not the best. read more

I will be honest, I haven't had the pleasure (insert sarcasm) of staying at this establishment. My review is based on how I have been treated as a potential patron. Back at the beginning of May, I booked a weekend trip to Myrtle Beach as an end of school getaway for my little girl. I paid for half of the trip upfront as they required. 3 days before our trip, I got a horrible toothache and discovered that I required emergency oral surgery. I had to cancel our trip. I was told that to receive a refund, I must show proof from my doctor of my upcoming surgery. Easy, done within hours of being told. This was May 12. It is now June 20 and I still haven't seen my refund. Each time I call, I am told to speak with Chris Fmoyer. This went on for 3 weeks. This morning, I'm told he no longer works for the company and that I'll need to speak with someone tomorrow. I was given the corporate number that goes directly to VM each time I call. Poor, poor customer service. I would not recommend any business with this hotel. We should have stuck with our favorite Myrtle Beach hotel, The Avista. read more

This place is just horrible. The whole entire hotel is just gross with uncleaned floors and ductape repairs everywhere. In our room we found a tick in the bath tub, and two more bugs by the kitchen. When we walked in there was a dirty pair of underwear just sitting in one of the night stands. There's ductape all over the balcony and throughout the flooring. The oven does not work at all as well. There's no guide to the tv or anything else for assistance. We had to replace all of our key cards 3 times (we made sure to keep them away from our phones) and the door jammed twice where you couldn't open it from inside or out. The hallways also have open window layouts so if it's raining at all you'll get wet as well as get swarmed by bugs. There's also only one elevator that will randomly open a floors when no one was waiting to get on. Overall this hotel has been disgusting and poorly maintained. If your thinking about getting a hotel in myrtle beach, I would highly recommend looking somewhere else because you really do get what you pay for here. read more

Stayed there for several days bracketing new years day. Overall it was a very nice stay...quiet and relaxing with indoor pool and indoor and outdoor hot tubs. Rates were good and although the room notice advised room servicing every third day, a call for additional service resulted in someone at the door in minutes. There was an added bonus of a professional new year's fireworks show from the nearby peer...best I've seen especially since we were able to walk right up to the peer. read more

If you don't mind paying too much for filth and rude service, this place is for you. I rarely give a bad review because I never expect perfect. This was so bad that we ended up leaving a day early because we couldn't take being uncomfortable anymore. We had to go to Walmart which was thankfully close to get air mattresses, sheets and blankets because the beds were so flat, stained and the sheets and comforter were so filthy. We had to go as soon as we got there and buy cleaning supplies to make it smell better and not stick to the floor. We even ran the dish washer for the dirty dishes that were left in it. Dryer timer didn't work so it ran for multiple hours the first time we used it and left not realizing it. Sweepers were broke, fridge took hours to work, service desk employees were so rude and busy on their phones and talking about fighting. There were a few positives: the balcony view of the beach was stunning, the proximity to the beach and shops was good and the pools were fun and clean for the kids. Maybe the pool cleaning co okay could gone the inside cleaning stuff a few pointers. The house keeping took a trash bag from a can by an elevator and tosses it onto a clean rack of linens and said it wasn't a big deal. Parking is two streets away so it's not handicap accessible for that aspect. We booked two suites for our family to stay here over a month in advance through booking.com. We drove 4.5 hours to the beach and Were waiting for checkin time when I received an email that said they ran my card and it was invalid and I had 2 hours to correct. I checked the card info and it was correct. Called the bank they said the hotel had never tried to run anything on my card. I called reservations and they tried to run my card again and he said it was coming back invalid. Then I started asking questions and found out 1. They had one of the rooms as a larger size than what was on my confirmation. They were trying to charge me $100+ more for the smaller room and a few hundred dollars more for the larger room than what was on my confirmation. I told them the room size on my confirmation and md the cost in my email confirmation (which included taxes, restore fee and cleaning fee). He transferred me to the front desk and a manager called me back. All of this was within 15 minutes of the email delivery time. The manager, Theresa, called me back to tell me they had cancelled my reservation and had already booked out our rooms and they no longer had any availability. WHAT?! She told me they tried running my card the day after I booked and it didn't go through so they cancelled the day I was checking in. I told her booking.com pre-authorizes a card before you can add it and I had spoken with my bank and they never had any attempts from the hotel. Also, I never got anything from booking or anyone else saying that there was an issue until that day (booking.com will send an email telling you that you have 24 hours). She apologized and said they could put me in a sister hotel. Long story short we ended up in a hotel without the same amenities, went from ocean front suites to "ocean view" (seriously you couldn't see the ocean unless you lean out the balcony) and a ton of frustration. When I called booking.com they confirmed the only time the card had been attempted was that day and they were still showing the reservation open and said the hotel shouldn't have booked out the rooms. She contacted the hotel and confirmed what I told her. My theory is they overbooked the hotel and cancelled the reservations of the people who paid the lower amount for the rooms. Just shady business practices. read more

Was worried when I read some reviews but was happily surprised... we had a great 1 bedroom condo with exceptional views from our private balcony, staff was extremely friendly and helpful. Room was a little dated but exceptionally clean. Location was awesome. Downside-we had to leave 1 day early due to hurricane Matthew... but they handled that and the refund extremely professional. Would def stay there again, oh and pools, hot tubs and lazy river were awesome !!!! read more

We stayed in unit 452 in Atlantica II. The unit was a nice lay-out, 2 bedrooms 2 baths, with balconies extending off of both fam room and master, right on the beach, with a beautiful view. However, the condition of the unit was disgusting. Forget the dated kitchen, I can take that. We spent the first several days cleaning surfaces of greasy gunk, including crap splattered on the walls, and discovered a cockroach infestation the first night. The rental company was responsive but the bugs were only a symptom. The place was filthy. My skin crawled every time I sat on the couch, which was partially broken and must have come right out of a FRAT house. The coffee pot was so disgusting I refused to use it and had the company bring a new one. The was no vacuum cleaner (they brought one too), and the dryer did not work the entire week. Looking under the couch or the bed, we realized the place had not been properly cleaned in years. We could not wait to get out of there. The decor was of similar vintage. The unit needs to be professionally cleaned and at least a few nice pieces of furniture brought in. read more

Look elsewhere. Don't do it. You would be better off to purchase a tent and stay at the local campground. Buildings are dated and location isn't that great. The staff is inadequate and clueless. Not impressed! Wish I could give it 0 stars! The room was filthy, floors were nasty. The mop was left next to the washer soaking wet and dirty. The table had a nasty film on it and the sliding door had food smudged all over it. PLUS we found a pile of pills under one of the beds!! DO NOT recommend!! read more

We checking in on aug 3 2018 one of the worst vacation every. We where given the 13th floor get to the elevator that was broken. Then once we got to the room the stove and microwave was rusted would not use it if i had too. Go outside on the balcony the carpet is soaking wet. Looking down at the pools and u can see the dirt stand in them. We spent most of our time out shopping but sat night we laid down early because we was leaving sunday to only be woken up about 1 in the morning the fire alarm going off. We had to almost run down 13 levels of stair scared and nothing knowing what was going on. Get to the bottom from rushing and being to scared to being sick from all the running and being scared. So many kids was scared from the loud alarms and fire trucks. The fire trucks pull up go in and check things out take about a hour then they get in the truck leave and no one from guess service would come out and tell the guess everything was clear to go back to the rooms. Before i go back up i go by the desk and ask if everythings ok she has a smerk and a attitude at the same time to only say i guess so. Remind u the elevators are not working so all the guess have to us the stair way. Then check out time sunday i talk with the manger and explain to her what was done to only say sorry. Then everyone leaving only for the elevator to still be broke so we had to come down 13 levels with all our bags. They need to shut this whole so call resort down. read more

It was ok. But, not what it was listed as. Suppossed to sleep 8. Well, one king size bed, me and my husband werent sharing, one bunk bed with full on bottom, twin on top and only one couch pulled out to bed. Remotes didnt work on tv. We made due.And there were only enough towels for 4 people. What got me, is when they cleaned room the next day. Didnt make the beds or clean bathrooms. They just dropped towels off. Thats it. I have been in cheaper places and they change trash, make beds, and clean bathrooms, and leave more soap and shampoo. All we got was towels put in room. The staff is not friendly at all. I did enjoy the pools and having a nice balcony. Will not be staying here again. read more

I had stayed at the Atlantica five or six times. Never again! I did not complain, just excepted what we got this time. My credit card was charged the day of check in and about 6 days after check out, for $50.40 for damage they said we did to a table. First of all I did see the piece of glass on the floor two days after we checked in, first time I had set down the chair across from the said table. To the best of our knowledge we did not break the glass on the table. I called for the manager Mr. Josh Lowery twice and left voice mails for him to call me. It has been several days and no returned phone call. So now I will tell how dirty the floor in our room was we put pool towels down to walk on. This place your hear every door slam, chairs moving in other rooms, ect. If you are at the building with the lazy river you can not get to the pool at the other building because there is no side walk. You can't go to the pools and drink your coffee if you get up very early because the doors and gates are locked till 9am. DO NOT STAY HERE!!!! Dirty,noisy and you may be charged at a later date for something you didn't break!! read more

Today I felt like I needed to share this incident that happened to myself and my family while on vacation with my kids. Yesterday we arrived at Myrtle Beach at our check in time at 4pm at the Atlantica Hotel. The kids were so excited as they were ready to get into the water and enjoy their vacation. We check in and the lady at the front desk told me that you are all set but your room is just a few minutes into being ready. I said its no problem I will just sit here and wait in the car. She said ok you won't be waiting long I have your cell number and I will give you a call as soon as its ready. The housekeeping is almost finished. Again, my reply was no worries. As we set patiently in the car waiting for our room, time seemed to go faster than expected and I noticed that 5minutes turned into 40 minutes. So my Fiance' goes in there and says excuse me, but we are still waiting for our room, the kids need to use the bathroom and we would like to get settled in, she says: "sir, its coming, unfortunately, we were under staffed today with housekeeping and so its taking them longer than expected". He didn't want to argue so he says ok. He comes back to the car and tells me that they are still getting it together. Now time again seemed to drift away as I called hotels to see if there was any vacancies that can accommodate us for a family of 5 and unfortunately due to it being spring break a lot of the hotels were booked. So here it is 5:30pm and still no room. From here I am beyond upset and I went in then. I said to the lady "Ma'am what is really going on with our room. I have paid you guys and we still have no room. Its not my problem you guys are short staffed, thats not the customers fault. Not one time have you offered my family anything for our inconvenience and for the time lost. She says so what ya'll want a dirty room? Now thats when the attitude of mine goes from 0-100 real fast. I had to break down "customer service" to her in a professional way. Cause what I really wanted to do out of anger was slap the hell out of her, but what was that go solve I kept telling myself. She then says, well look check in time is from 4-6 and I said thats not what my paper says. I have never been to a hotel to where they say check in time is between 2 hours. My money wasn't in between 2 hours of checkin in. So by this time, she yelling and I am yelling. I told her that this was not right and what was I supposed to do when I have 3 kids in the car who is ready to enjoy their spring break like everyone else. I asked her.. "where is your manager? she says my manager is not here, I said well let me speak to a property/general manager she says we don't have one. I said well who writes and signs your check? She couldn't answer. So words are being exchanged she fussing and I am fussing. I said let me walk out before this really turns ugly. I sat in my car and called more hotels. All of a sudden a knock comes on my door and there stood, a police officer(female), the rude girl behind the desk and a guy. where this guy come from I have no idea. I rolled down my window and the cop asked me to step out the car. I said for what I don't have to do nothing cause I haven't done nothing. She then says to step out so the kids wouldn't have to hear this conversation. So myself and my fiance' get out the car and we asked the girl why is there a cop here and who is this guy. The guy says I am a manager from Meridan Hotel, and I said so again what you doing here. He says I was called over because of a complaint, again what complaint. I was told that there was no manager here he says well technically I am a manager at another property. And due to the fact of you being a rude customer we just went on ahead and refunded back your money and you are not welcome to stay here. I said what you mean I am not welcome or is it my skin color not welcomed to stay here. He says we feel as though you are a threat to this hotel and we are going to have to ask you to leave. Its spring break week and we can not help that we are short staffed at this time. I said you don't even work here and for you to sit here and refund my money back and tell me I have to leave is not satisfying to the customer. And you call yourself a manager of a property. You ain't no manager, I have a right to be upset that my room isn't paid for. Not one time did you come out here and ask us what happened. Not one time did you even try to make this right not only for me but my kids thats in the backseat crying. AT this point my tone is loud, yes I am using profanity because this wasn't right. Then the cop go ask me can I see your I.D. I said no, let me see your ID we done nothing wrong but wait patiently for a room. She go then tell me to lower my voice. I don't have to lower my voice, this is America and I have a right to have my freedom of speech. This was uncalled for and it not only hurt me but my children as they wanted a nice spring break weekend. Atlantica is not the hotel to stay. read more

YOU CAN PUT LIPSTICK ON A PIG BUT IT IS STILL A PIG! I live in Myrtle Beach and this qualifies as one of the worst. I had family visiting from out of town and thought it would be nice to have them stay in what I thought was nice building, at least from the exterior. It did give you the "Miami" vibe but upon check in the horror began. The room was dirty, lights burned out, the carpet wet and the place literally stunk from the mold. To add insult to injury when you complain about the conditions of the room they call the police. Housekeeping and maintenance was nice and agreed it stunk but hotel management called the police to have my family evicted. All of this because the room was uninhabitable. Please DO NOT BE TEMPTED by the exterior of the place or the flashy pictures online. And oh yeah, they seem to have a toilet paper shortage because there was none in the room. The night manager needs an attitude adjustment and just isn't worth the bother. Too many other places to stay to enjoy the Grand Strand than put up with the nonsense. The rooms, the management......what can I say.....truly dreadful. read more
