Quality Masters Appliance Service - 3-year Old Dryer

Recently our dryer stopped heating out of nowhere. Our warranty unfortunately had not been renewed,…read morewe completely overlooked that so we were unable to use Whirlpool to fix it. We have only ever used them so we had no idea where to look. My wife enlisted Yelp to help us. She put in some request for quotes and received a few back pretty quickly. We had never used that but it was very helpful. Quality Masters was the first to respond and then also took time to message back and forth with her. The other companies were not as friendly and responsive. We also read their Yelp reviews, which we all good, so we figured we would use them. We were able to make the appointment for the next day and were able to do it all through text. It was very simple for us! There was a moment of uncertainty but they were extremely professional and friendly. I was going to be home while my wife was at work, so on the day of our appointment, they were running early. They called asking if early would be ok, so our appointment was moved up. I cannot remember his name, but the technician that came was very knowledgeable and professional. He pinpointed the issue immediately. He discovered our dryer was clogged with lint and the coils were bad. It makes sense since we had never had our vents cleaned. He was able to replace the coils, as well as sucking out as much lint as he could with his tools. Unfortunately, they do not clean vents like that but again, he could help us out with some of it. He also made suggestions as to what else needed to be done, really with just getting the vents cleaned. They also take your payment online either with credit card, for a small fee, or Zelle or Venmo. The invoice will be emailed to you and allow you to pay that way. Personally, we do not prefer to pay for services with Zelle so we used a credit card. It was very simple. I thought overall the price they charged for the coils and cleaning, was very reasonable. It did not cost us much at all. I would definitely use them again, should we need something fixed.

My interactions with this company went poorly and I absolutely do not recommend. While writing…read morethis review I took a look at some of the other reviews for the company. A pattern quickly emerged. First, I noticed that they seem to have the inability to keep the appointments they make. Possibly promising times that are appealing to the customer but in reality, they are incapable of honoring. They absolutely require you pay a fee when booking your appointment that they oddly emphasize is not refundable for any reason. When a major appliance isn't working and a company promises you a quick repair most people blindly just pay the money. When things don't go as planned, which appears to happen in quite a few situations mentioned online, you are reminded that the fee that you paid is absolutely, positively not refundable. Second, people like an itemized bill. We would like to see exactly what we're paying for when it comes to such a significant amount. However, this company appears incapable, unwilling and on occasion outright rude in regard to requests for an itemized bill. When the technician was finished I specifically asked if I would receive an itemized copy of the bill to which he replied, "yes. It will be emailed to you". Surprise, just like the first invoice I received it was not itemized. Based on the numerous reviews that I have read regarding their invoice, I will not pursue asking for an itemized copy. It appears they have not yet ever provided anyone an itemized copy that requested it and, in some cases were downright nasty and rude. Their explanation as to why they are either unwilling or incapable of providing an itemized bill is absolute nonsense and they should be more capable of understanding why people don't believe it. They either need to start providing itemized copies of their Bill or a better excuse as to why they can't. Third, some of their representatives seem to lack a focus on basic customer service skills. A quick apology when they are delayed or a polite, consistent approach to concerns would go a long way in resolving issues. Instead, I interacted with employees that appeared completely unconcerned with their repeated delays or appointment changes. Others appear to have had a far more difficult time dealing with their rude, condescending replies that aren't doing anything but exacerbating the issue. In conclusion, the company feels incredibly shady to me with a repeated pattern of issues. They charge way too much, are filled with disingenuous excuses when questioned about their business practices and generally incapable of honoring the appointment times they provide. With so many options out there, this shouldn't even be one you consider. I strongly encourage you not to just take my word for it, but read the other reviews that share a similar opinion. They're mixed in with all of those glowing five star reviews that seem oddly similar and contrived.

We had to pay a $20 service fee just to get them to come out -- not too bad. Had the appointment scheduled for a Saturday (no extra charge). Unfortunately, the power went out 15 minutes before Brian arrived so nothing could be done. Rescheduled for next Tuesday and did not have to pay another service fee. Turned out the noise was from a compressor vibrating against some other metal. Brian put a rubber buffer between the two and the problem was solved. They have a 90 day warranty on labor, but we are on day 3 and the noise has not returned. Paid a little over $200 - didn't have to pay for an expensive part, and we can now get some sleep!

They sent another tech out, Brian, who took everything apart and cleared a big ice chunk blocking the fan that cools the freezer. Removed that, re-installed the old ice maker, gave us a refund for the new ice maker he took out and WE HAVE ICE AGAIN!! + a freezer that works. He stopped by again today because the door to the freezer wasn't closing properly, so has fixed that. THANK YOU BRIAN‼ Will definitely call Hartman's again. From the office to both technicians that came, everyone is extremely professional and took great care of us so that we didn't have to buy a new refrigerator. Repair endedup costing us about $180, which was more than fair with 4 service visits.
