We had a Kenmore refrigerator that was still working but making a very loud buzzing noise intermittently for months. We finally decided to do something about it. We had to pay a $20 service fee just to get them to come out -- not too bad. Had the appointment scheduled for a Saturday (no extra charge). Unfortunately, the power went out 15 minutes before Brian arrived so nothing could be done. Rescheduled for next Tuesday and did not have to pay another service fee. Turned out the noise was from a compressor vibrating against some other metal. Brian put a rubber buffer between the two and the problem was solved. They have a 90 day warranty on labor, but we are on day 3 and the noise has not returned. Paid a little over $200 - didn't have to pay for an expensive part, and we can now get some sleep! read more

When our dryer broke down, we hired them to investigate and see if they could repair it. I called their number and was greeted by a friendly representative, who informed me of the 20 dollar call free, as well as a 120 dollar fee for them to investigate and if we don't hire them to repair it. The specialist came within schedule, and investigated our dryer. He spent about 1/2 hour to investigate as well as disassemble the control panel and other parts, and mentioned something about the heating element and another component being broken. He informed us that it would be better to buy a new dryer as the costs of repair would not be worth it (around 450 dollars). We appreciated his honesty and told him we will buy a new dryer for a store. Thus, we paid 140 dollars for the specialist to come and investigate, but no repairs. It was definitely costly, but we did appreciate their honestly. I also noticed that he had what looked to be a body camera, which wasn't mentioned. Thus, if being filmed rubs you the wrong way, it may be good to hire someone else. While I would recommend their service, I may check directly with the manufacturers if they do repairs as just the cost of the investigation from Hartman's was quite expensive. read more

Would never use! Repairman came out to look at my LG frig. He said that the compressor was out and that I had to call LG for warranty replacement. He said he doesn't do that and charged me $140 to tell me my frig isn't working. I don't know what gave it away that my frig wasn't working, perhaps me opening the door and it's not cold. $140 to tell me that it's not working and they won't repair it. I call 3 other repair vendors, and they told me that they take care of calling LG, getting the parts, and repairing my frig. Of course I would have to pay labor (which was expected). In the end, be careful with this vendor. I would definitely not use them for anything. I own other homes and I'm always looking for reliable vendors, this one is not one of them. Great Customer Service!!! I called Hartman's Appliance to schedule a repair on my whirlpool front load washer in my MotorCoach, after dealing with another appliance repair company in south Florida during a recent trip and totally getting ripped off but that's another story, I was relieved to find a appliance repair company with integrity. The other repair company I thought had trouble-shot the issue which was a simple door switch but after the Hartman Technician looked at the washer and lookEd online, he found the washer had issues with an interface module that whirlpool has issued a recall that will require me to get authorization through whirlpool before this issue can be resolved but the technician did provide me with all the information I need to get the problem resolved. Being the other appliance repair company stole the door switch part he removed and has refused to ship me the old part, the new replacement part or refund the $148 he required prior to ordering the part. The Hartman Technician installed a new door switch and put the washer back together and walked me through the whirlpool recall / repair process, so they will definitely be involved once things are settled with Whirlpool. I cannot say enough about the customer service they provided from the start of the process which began with Pattie who took down the details and set up the service call, she was awesome and I really appreciate her communication skills, I also know Christine was involved to ensure the tech was provided with accurate information and finally the technician I'm sorry but I think he name was Jason he was very knowledgeable, professional and took great care when working inside my MotorCoach while working on the washer. I hope to work through the whirlpool warranty process as soon as possible and have Hartman complete the repairs. I will definitely call them again anytime I have appliance issues... read more

I should have known this was going to be a disaster when this company didn't respond to my web site appointment request. I followed up with a phone call, and an appointment was arranged. The technician texted my landline, which I noted to the appointment setter wouldn't be possible, so he showed up within the window but without the 20-minutes notice. Technician arrived, found the issue with my refrigerator, and promptly said, "Unfortunately, we don't service "closed system" appliances. That'll be $139." How odd, given the description on this very page: "Not only do we service all types of home appliances such as refrigerators, ovens and garbage disposals, we also service electric, propane and gas appliances." The day that we posted our original review, we were contacted by the company to understand our experience. While nothing was said about our two cancelled appointments, they let my husband know that they understood why we were lead to believe the water filter was included in the price we were quoted, and offered to refund the filter we had to purchase from Lowe's. Before the end of the week, we had received a check to reimburse us, which was very much appreciated. While we were asked to change our review, they were advised that we would only add an update. Being someone who relies so much on reviews when deciding if I will use a company's service, I believe it's important to add an update when efforts have been made to make it right. But being asked multiple times to remove my original experience, thus misleading others who may also be relying on those reviews, totally rubs me the wrong way, and I debated only updating to three stars because of it. I called for assistance with my refrigerator the other day. They scheduled me pretty quickly but had someone in the area a day or two earlier and were able to fit me in. They also made me aware of a class action lawsuit with Samsung. I called Samsung and they are fixing one issue at no cost. The person that checked out my fridge was knowledgeable and friendly. He gave me quick solution that worked. While he was there he took a look at my washer machine and dryer and suggested some maintenance tips that I thought were helpful. The company says they repair LG refrigerators. The technician was very nice and friendly. He went straight to the back of the fridge to check the compressor. He put the voltage meter on it. Hardly any voltage. He reset it, the same result. He said I can't replace the compressor. We need to call another LG repair technician for that. Even though they say they can repair LG refrigerators that is not true. Especially with the most important part, the compressor !!!!!!!! read more

Came home to a warm fridge one day...My fridge suddenly wouldn't cool! I tried unplugging it, thinking it might just be the fan that had frozen up. I left it all day and when I plugged it in again and put it on coldest setting it still would not cool. Time to call the repairman!! I did my research and saw that Hartmans appliance repair had a lot of good reviews. I called them and from the first phone call last goodbye from the repairman it was super professional. The technician came out, very respectful during Covid with his mask and gloves. He diagnosed the fridge and told me it was the double fan system that had given out. I got an estimate and we went ahead. The part arrived a couple of days later and technician came out right away. It less than an hour it was done! I contacted Hartman's for a boot spring replacement on my washer door. I was told my diagnostic fee would be removed if I decided to go with their services. Overall, here's what happened: My diagnostic fee was not removed nor was my $30 "truck fee". I was charged for order of & delivery of the part to Hartmans Parts and labor are not under warranty I was not provided with an itemized bill but told it would be emailed. I was not able to reach the "owner" by phone to talk about my fees. Instead, I was in a perpetual queue line on hold as the 2nd customer waiting. For a 10min, stretch the spring around the door and leave kind of repair, I spent a little over $200. I felt like I got ripped off. Would not recommend this company to anyone. If you do decide on Hartmans, get everything in writing before they send a tech out including all fees and ask about their warranty. Otherwise, go elsewhere. It's not worth the hassle. read more

I called them to have tech come to my home and next day Ron was at my door. Part was ordered and a week after Ron returned to my home to install light switch. I have no idea why the ratings for this place are so high. The first time I used them they scratched a door of my Kitchenaid refrigerator. They came back to put in the part and scratched the other door. Both were scratched so badly they had to be replaced, but they were very nice, so I decided to use them again... They came out and told me it would be $1000 or so to fix the refrigerator, they charged me 50% down. TWO MONTHS passed and they still didn't have the part. In the meantime the fridge stopped working completely... They still couldn't give me a date they would have the part and I have no working fridge. I told them I wanted a refund, getting that took almost 3 weeks and they had the nerve to charge me for the initial service call. This place can kiss my a$$ read more

Do not use this company! My refrigerator was not cooling so I called Hartmans. I looked online and got their number at random. I called them on a Thursday. Bad mistake!! They were supposed to come out the following Monday, but on Monday morning they called and said the technicians van broke down so they couldn't come that day. They did come the next day on Tuesday. The guy looked at my fridge for 5 minutes and said I needed a new fan but he didn't have one and they would have to order it. It was going to be over $500 for parts and labor and I had to put half down right then and the rest when it was fixed. So he charged my credit card $250. I called Thursday and Friday because they never called me to give me an update. So now we are going into another weekend since they don't work on weekends. The next Monday I called and asked the status and they said they had the part and would be out on Thursday. But on Wednesday night they called and said the part came in broken so they would need to reorder it. So another week and half goes by and I haven't heard anything. I called daily and I only get to talk to an answering service woman who said she kept telling the parts person to call me back to give me the status of the second fan part order and she NEVER ONCE called me back. Finally after nearly 3 weeks I called another company this past Monday. They came out the very next day....Tuesday and Fixed it that day! It was NOT EVEN the fan. It was a clogged drain that caused freezing around the fan which was actually still working. He asked if the Hartmans tech took it apart to diagnosis it and I said nope. He just looked in there for a few minutes and said that's what it was. So I never needed a fan ever!! And I lost so much food waiting around for Hartmans to come out and they never did. I have called there every day for a week trying to get my $250 refunded. They misdiagnosed the problem in the 5 minutes the tech was here and cost me a lot of money in food loss while waiting nearly 3 weeks for them to fix it. I wish I would have gone elsewhere sooner. Again....I would NEVER recommend this company and I am STILL trying to get my money back. I will be taking further action if I STILL don't have a refund in the next day. STAY AWAY from HARTMANS ! We had a problem with a built in microwave. The replacement cost was thousands of dollars- it had to be fixed. It was diagnosed as the magnetron. Once that part was received and installed the microwave began giving other error codes. the two technicians took the time to troubleshoot the additional problems and then order the parts. They did not charge for a return visit or extra labor- just the cost of the additional parts. The microwave got fixed after three trips and three parts, with no additional labor costs- outstanding. So I reached out to Hartmann's appliance repair and I very clearly asked what the fees would be and they told me there was a 24.95 fee along with a $69 diagnostic fee. They told me that if I chose to have the repairs done by them to $69 would be waived and that they use the Kelley blue book standard charge for parts and labor. I was 100% going to have this company repair my Samsung dryer but when the repair man told me that my repair was going to cost $298 i almost fell over. A new dryer at Lowe's right now is $540. Anyway they repair man was very polite and kind but this company should be out of business. I paid him $100 to come and look at it and tell me that it was just the idle pulley. The idle pulley is literally a $10 part so why they charge $298 is beyond me and no one should do business with this company because they are a bunch of thief's. Never again save your money people google how to do your own repairs. read more
