We had a nice stay. The breakfast that was included was perfect. Very nice selection of breakfast foods. The room was very pretty but it was a bit too cool. We couldn't control the temp. It wasn't sound proofed and we were on the first floor across from the dining room. Staff was friendly, very nice. We just weren't happy that we didn't have the basic comforts of home. The weather was bad, we would have liked to have a decent selection of TV channels without tons of commercials. They have no frills cable. Basic channels. Stayed in the Portofino suite. The room was very clean and the furniture was very nice. Beds are comfortable. Very close to the boardwalk. For the price (400 a night), I was expecting a little more luxury. It's across the street from a High School Warning: If you are 6 feet or taller, you might bump your head on the ceiling. Definitely can't extend your arms up. The ceiling is low throughout the entire suite. My wife is 5'3 and was able to touch the ceiling. Screen door is broken to the suite. Has a damp basement smell to it. Bathroom: Toilet make a noise, bathtub is partially clogged- water drained super slow. Kitchen: Fridge slides out of place(uneven ) Rooms: TV's are super small, DVD players outdated). Queen room ceiling looks like it might have had a water leak at one point in time. Booked a room directly through their site because I figured it would give them the most money (vs a third party site), but regret this. First, I will say that I made a mistake. I booked for the wrong day and realized it when we were checking in. That being said the owner showed little compassion for this mix up. I understand their website says they will not provide refunds if it's less than a certain number of days from your reservation, but I had only booked a couple days prior. It'd have been nice for him to offer to at least give me a partial refund (parking, late check out, guest bogus fee, etc.) Based on their incredibly strict cancellation policy, I'd never stay here or recommend this place. We took our business to Atlantic City instead, which was a loss for OC tourism. Also, there seemed to be ample street parking, so think twice before you pay for their parking. Also, they're like the Spirit Airlines of hotels - they nickel and dime you for various options (late check out, early check in, etc.) that other hotels offer as a courtesy. And there isn't a front desk, which feels creepy and unwelcoming. It made the whole thing kind of a "fend for yourself" situation, but you can call if you need to. In my case, it really didn't do any good. Cannot recommend the place at all. read more

Spent my birthday at the Atlantis this weekend. This place very clean and air conditioned well. However, there was no parking and I had to find a spot on the street or park 3 1/2 blocks away and pay at a public lot. I did not book through Atlantis's web site and therefore we were not entitled to a breakfast which was very disappointing. We could have had breakfast if we paid an additional $17.00, plus some change, for me and my girlfriend. With tax that would have been $35.00. The owner in prior reviews justified not providing the free breakfast to guests because of the 15% or so charge Atlantis from the on-line booking sites. However, the owner should realize that he has decided to allow guests to book on these sites to increase his business. I thought that we should have had some type of breakfast such as bagels and small pastries. Or offer a breakfast at a reasonable price between $8.00 and $10.00. Also, no place to put our bikes. Therefore, I would call Atlantis a Bed without breakfast and do not plan on every staying there again. We booked the Villa'd Porto Fino for a 2 night stay for 5 adults over a lovely sunny weekend in August. It is nice place to stay and they provide a very filling continental breakfast. The rooms are clean and well maintained, and even the boardwalk is very close (5 min walk). Unfortunately, there are a lot of other things that ain't right here and that has left a bad taste from the vacation. The first thing we noticed was that it is difficult to contact the Inn keeper, Val, as the phone# listed is not a landline, but a mobile. We had a few queries about our reservation before our vacation and left a few messages and even mailed him, but he never got back to us. We wanted to ask him about the parking situation as the confirmation email they sent mentioned limited spaces in their private parking lot. The important thing that they never mention on the phone is that there is a lot of free street parking that you will find around the inn. We had 3 cars in our party and all of us found free street parking for 2 days. We were forced to pay $37 for 2 days as they scare you as soon as you move in that there is no parking available. The bill also mentions that we have to pay $10 for complimentary water and other services....really?? how is it complimentary if we are paying for it? Secondly, Val, the inn keeper tried to scare us that we are in violation of city rules as there were 5 guests in our party and all of us will not be able to stay in the suite, even though we had paid for the extra person. Our complain was why did they have to take a payment on their website in the first place for the 5th person when it was illegal to do so? Finally, as other reviewers had posted, Val is a rude person. We found that out the hard way. One of our friends, who lives in Philly wanted to come meet us at the Inn, and called to ask the location and parking situation close by, and Val asked her all sorts of personal questions..where does she live??why are you visiting Ocean city, how long will you stay here? Maybe he thought we were adding her as the 6th guest to the suite! The experience of staying at the Inn for the guests can be enhanced and improved if the management works on their customer service skills. read more

There are new owners and it's no longer called the Atlantis Inn. It is called the Coastal Chateau. Found this out when I went to book our annual vacation. We've been staying at the Atlantis every summer for over a decade, so we figured new ownership, what's the difference? Apparently, A LOT! None of the pictures of the rooms are actual pictures of the rooms; they are images pilfered from the internet. A simple Google reverse-search reveals inaccurate photos of their "rooms." I refuse to stay there because if they can't post actual pictures, what are they hiding? NEVER trust a hotel or B&B that doesn't post pictures of their actual rooms. Also, they have removed the hot breakfast that was a wonderful bonus at a bed and BREAKFAST. There used to be eggs, waffles, toast, cereal, etc. Now they offer fruit and coffee. A Hampton Inn has more to offer. I don't trust anyone who tries to revamp tradition in the name if "new and improved." I know they will never see a dollar of my money! read more

I would give this place three and a half stars for the price. It was clean, well decorated, and had a big bathroom with a big jacuzzi. The tv was automatically tuned to Fox News- we thought that was an easy way to alienate about 1/2 of your market... just a thought. For the price, breakfast should have been included, and a personal note upon arrival would have been nice too, and perhaps some snacks? Otherwise, nice... just not worth so much money! read more

This is an odd place. We stayed last week. There is no check-in desk, which is OK if the person answering the phone would give you a call back. Our room was nice, the breakfast was way overpriced for what they give. The young lady who was running the kitchen was VERY sweet and definitely the high-light of the stay. After we left, I realized that I left an item in my room, so I put a call in and got no response. So, I put a second call in, still no response. We have stayed here twice. The first time was several years ago, and it was very nice. This time, both my wife and I noticed how run-down the place was staring to look. And, in a COVID-time, you would think a place like this would go out of their way to win you over with hospitality. Not so. The decor and layout of the inn are very nice. The beds and sheets are extremely comfortable. We stayed in the Cinese, the room itself was small. However, the bathroom and jacuzzi tub were very large. Despite the decor, bed, and tub, we were very disappointed. For the price of staying in the inn we expected a much better breakfast to be served, a better location, and better service overall. Two strips of bacon or two sausages, frozen potatoes, and two extremely watery eggs... We could have paid a lot less for a room closer to a diner with outstanding breakfast. Extra bacon was $5.00. The fresh fruit bar was nice, but had the same thing everyday. The owner will tell you the breakfast is a 25.00 value, it is not at all. You will get three pancakes with two pieces of sausage or bacon. If you get eggs, the potatoes are definitely OreIda frozen. The breakfast is a complete waste, and I do not suggest you book and expect a good breakfast. The location is not beach block. It is two blocks from the beach. Additionally, the on point to the beach on sixth goes to the surfing beach. It is a longer haul from the door to the beach than you are lead to believe. Furthermore, it is immediately across from the OC high school. Not exactly what I want to stare at from the rooftop deck. The owner. He is an extremely rude man. On the telephone he is short and condescending, but in person he is not as bad. He certainly thinks he knows it all. If you call to book, ask for Lori. She is the manager, and is much nicer and more willing to answer your questions. We gave this two stars only because of the bedding and jacuzzi tub. The rooftop deck was nice, but you see other houses and the ferris wheel. If you sit in the right spot you can see a speck of the ocean. You can definitely find better for the money -- this is extremely overpriced. We will not be staying here again, and I can assure you this is not a 'luxury' B&B. Just came back from a weekend getaway with my girlfriend. The inn is in the perfect spot in relation to the boardwalk. Val, the owner, is nice and cooks an excellent breakfast. Our room had access to the rooftop deck but it was a little too windy to really enjoy it. The only gripes are that you have to park on the street and our room didn't have a controllable thermostat; the room across the hall from us controls the temperature. Took a recent trip from the West Coast. Decided to stop at the Jersey Shore with my wife and two elementary school aged children. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay! We stayed in the Villa Portofino. It was perfect for us. It was a very spacious two bedroom suite with a full kitchen and a private entrance on the ground level. This allowed for easy access to the boardwalk and beach which was less then a block away. The breakfast was delicious! Recommend the French Toast Croissants and sausages. Next time we visit Ocean City we plan to stay at the Atlantis Inn again. read more

Nice B&B near the heart of O.C. Good breakfast, nice but slightly overwhelmed staff, especially during busy season. Good bathrooms with nice fixtures, good air conditioning. We've been staying in Ocean City for 20 years, and this has become a new favorite.We came here on a Groupon deal and we definitely plan on coming back in the future. Michael, the manager, was always friendly and very helpful. Val, the owner, was gracious and clearly tries very hard to run a superior establishment. Wine and cookies or Sangria and nuts were set out in the evenings, and the breakfast was cooked to order. (Weekend stay) Wonderful omelettes, pancakes, fresh fruit , yogurt and cereal bar and perfect coffee and fresh, loose teas and juices.Our room was wonderful (fireplace, private rooftop deck entrance, Bvlgari toiletries) and the rooftop deck is immense, relaxing and even has a fireplace. An added nice touch is the chilled Poland Spring water that's available free of charge for room consumption. Can't wait to return! read more

Stayed here this past weekend on a Friday night. Loved my room, although somewhat small. There was no thermostat in the room, but the temperature was never uncomfortable. They have a good DVD library that is free to use, and the rooftop deck is beautiful. We're not huge breakfast people, but I absolutely loved my choc. chip pancakes and the fruit was so fresh! The only gripes I have is that you have to pay extra for parking, which I thought was a little ridiculous given the price of the room. I ended up finding on-street parking anyway and was still charged the $15. Also, like other reviewers said, the staff is overwhelmed. We went to check out early Saturday and ended up waiting 20 minutes until we saw a staff member. The other gripe would be that the free Wi-fi did not work in our room, so I didn't get to use that amenity. I also really liked that we could stay just one night during the busy season, since most hotels make you stay 2. Also, the bed/pillows/sheets were the most comfortable I have ever slept on. I had a great nights sleep, which rarely happens when I don't stay in my own bed. We'll definitely go back during the off season and most likely get a room with a jacuzzi. The inn was very nicely decorated and our room (the Versailles) was quite beautiful and comfortable. Loved the 2-person shower and in-room Jacuzzi tub. It was also nice and quiet. We didn't eat breakfast there (we are big fans of Uncle Bill's Pancake House and went there instead), so I can't comment on that. There was no daily housekeeping visit to the room; I think it was available on request, but we didn't request it because there was really no need -- we prefer to keep using our towels, and we don't really need the bed made every day. And we also hate feeling obligated to leave the room so housekeeping can come in -- we like the boardwalk better than the beach, so we tend to stay in during the day and hit the boardwalk when the sun goes down a bit. The location is nice and convenient to the boardwalk, very close to Gillian's Wonderland. The one thing I knocked a star off for was the lack of on-site parking. The options were to take your chances with street parking, or pre-reserve a spot in a lot that was several blocks away. We did the latter, and that walk got really old after a couple of days of constant walking on the boardwalk. (I will note, though, that the pre-check-in info we got did clearly outline the parking situation, so we were warned about it in advance.) Overall, though, we liked the Atlantis Inn and would stay there again. read more

Stayed at this bed and breakfast this weekend . We booked the Villa'd Porto Fino room two bedroom suit. When we arrived the one of the bedrooms had major water damage and could not be used . The manager on site told use he would upgrade us to the smaller suite with one bedroom. How is that an upgrade . The room I booked was double the price of the other suite he offered. He also said he could give us another room if need .Well it was my wife myself and my 2 year old really didn't want to be split up into two different rooms . So we stayed in the Villa 'D Porto Fino room since all our stuff was already in there . They closed off the bedroom with the water leak. They said I would have to email the owner to get a credit. I did that 20 times and still have not received any emails or calls back. They even avoid my calls . The number you call is a cell phone number and they screen the calls. bad business practice from what I can see. They put a damper on our stay .I would not ever recommend this Bed and breakfast to anyone. There is nobody to talk to if there is a problem .That was my issue without being able to use the bedroom I paid for.There also are other issues that could not be resolved. The no air issue .This might of had something to do with the leak in the room but there was nothing they could do about that.I was told the coldest the air could go was 73 . That is was controlled by them. I didn't feel any air blowing out of the vents so I really don't think that is true . It was 72 outside. Lets rate the room now . There super suite with all this nice deco . The ceilings in this unit were very low maybe 7 feet at best. Felt very closed in . No windows in kitchen ,bath ,living room almost like you were in a cave . The windows in the one bedroom we could use were very small and narrow. Tv in the bedroom was 19inch at best looked ridiculous on top of the armoire . The screen in porch was very small and the entrance was very narrow. This room is not worth the money at all. Our overall experience was not good at all and would not even think about staying there. read more

My husband and I stayed here for two nights for a quick getaway after our wedding. We were in room 9 Córdoba Suite which is in the turret. While some might not like climbing to the third floor, we loved that our room had direct access to a rooftop deck which we always had to ourselves. The breakfast menu was a bit limited, but the food was delicious. There were a lot of written rules and restrictions which irked me (like you weren't supposed to have beach chairs or coolers in the rooms even though it's a beach town). But it was a very quite inn - it was keyless with codes to get into the outside doors and rooms. Very convenient! I would highly recommend this inn to others. Taking one star away for restrictions and parking lot being 3.5 blocks away. read more

Pros: only two blocks from the boardwalk, great suggestion for dinner at 701 Mosaic, no check in required, passcodes predetermined before stay, snacks/water/tea provided in the evening, room was a decent size. Cons: overnight parking wasn't clear as we stayed during off season (we ended up just parking on a side street), stair case to the second floor is very steep as its a spiral staircase, two person jacuzzi tub took at least 15-20 minutes to fill up and hot water ran out when about only halfway filled, only 1 jet worked when we turned them on - spoiled the whole reason we booked this specific room, white sheets had a small yellowish stain on them, breakfast was mediocre - I'd rather go to a local cafe or diner, my husband had an ant crawling on his plate when it was served. Summary - I feel that the room was way overpriced regarding the quality of service and products. Really only paying for the location. read more

My husband and I loved the Atlantis. the idea of no keys, and no reception area at first had us wondering. However, it worked out wonderful. The people at Atlantis, from house keeping to the owner, could not have been nicer or more helpful. The breakfasts were the best we have had compared to any other Inn we have stayed at. The décor is just beautiful. We had a semi rainy weekend and found our room very comfortable to relax in. We will definitely be back and will be recommending this Inn to our friends. read more

Was a guest at the Atlantis Inn several times over the past year. The rooms are very nicely decorated and accommodating. The service however is not very good and the breakfast are terrible. This is the most professionally managed B&B I've ever stayed in - the staff (especially Michael) was welcoming and accommodating. The rooms were spacious, modern and fastidiously cleaned every day. I was very impressed with the daily gourmet and afternoon snack with seasonal cocktails/fruit. We couldn't get over the rooftop environment - with plush lounge chairs, a fit pit perfect for s'mores, and karaoke equipment. I will DEFINITELY be re-booking when I return this Fall. read more

I wasn't sure about this inn when we made reservations. First off, the inn has a lot of weird rules. We tried to make reservations with our toddler, and the inn makes you sign an agreement via email- which I didn't read, but signed anyway- because who really reads terms and agreements. So, bit of advice, even though Expedia and the like ask about the age of your children- apparently this information doesn't get relayed. So, I come to find out later that I booked a room where children under the age of thirteen are strictly prohibited, and the cancellation policy is rather absurd. But, we called the hotel and they took care of the oversight right away and had us booked in one of the two villa rooms. The parking (four or so blocks away- but there is a loading zone) and the doorkeys are weird (there are none- its a keypad- and therefore no check in- or check out) and there is a no food policy in the suites, as well as a service animal fee (which I'm not sure is entirely legal- but I'm no lawyer) Now that may seem like a lot. We headed out early though and the manager was very congenial about us arriving early. We walked into the main part of the inn to find our room, and I instantly froze, grabbed my toddler from touching ANYTHING because this place is P-O-S-H. Instantly understood the desire not to have kids under 13 breaking things. The entrance is stunning, dining room gorgeous. We found our room. Really cozy. Love the decor. Its heavy wood but not oppressive. It actually reminds me a lot of my parents home- which is kind of tuscan/old world/ anglophile/irish in a historic victorian. After we arrived the manager on staff came to greet us at our room and brought us water bottles and asked us when wed like breakfast. This room is so nice it makes me wonder what the suites look like. The boardwalk is a couple blocks down the street, with lots of fun activities there, including a rides, arcades, shops, miniature golf, and of course the beach. I would definitely recommend this place to couples, older adults, and honeymooners. 4.5 stars read more
