The good: it's a very cute and charming place. The rooms are nicely decorated and the little touches like toothbrush and sunscreen are nice. The bad: the outside is a train wreck. Walking up the stairs to your room just screams for attention. Outside our room we have wires hanging from the soffit with wire nuts on the end. The walls need another coat of paint because you can see where the contractor wrote (full kitchen and an arrow sign). The mini fridge is cute but not useful. You are pretty much getting a hotel room. The biggest issue with this place and the nail in the coffin for us never to return is the non-existing parking. We drove around for an 1 hour and had to park 3 blocks away. Also turn the hot water on in the shower and go for a walk. It takes forever to heat up. read more

Our 2 day stay was very comfortable. Plenty of room in our 2 room suite, the Red Sail Suite. We had a full refrigerator, two TV's and a small balcony. Everything was cheery and wonderful, as was our hostess Nancy. Best of all we were able to have our year and a half puppy with us on her first trip away from home. We have stayed in a few places in OC and this by far is the best! Unique rooms with charm and adequate amenities. Sadly there are no more breakfasts included on a regular basis but that still does not detract from the overall charm of this place. Nancy is pleasant and eager to accommodate your needs. It started with a Google search: "cheap hotels in Ocean City, NJ". I was expecting to find a handful of overpriced, run of the mill rooms, and was already expecting to have to settle for one. Then I came across the Ocean City Mansion Bed & Breakfast. I thought, this place looks beautiful, but there's no way it will be in my price range. As it turns out, it's on par with (if not CHEAPER than) most of the dumpy "beach-front" motor lodge-esq motels in the town. So I decided to make a reservation and check it out first hand. This was THE single best Ocean City vacation experience I've ever had. I told my girlfriend that we were going to the shore for a couple days but didn't tell her where we were staying. When we pulled up, and she saw the beautiful Victorian house, she broke into tears. :) We were greeted on the porch by Nancy, the owner, who took us inside and showed us to our room, the "Miss McKenna Suite". Anyone who's seen the movie Somewhere In Time will recognize this name as Jane Seymour's character's name. A little book in the room says that the 1986 movie was an inspiration to open the inn in the first place - and there's a large framed Somewhere In Time poster in the upstairs hallway. The room was beautiful. Leaps and bounds over the standard "2 bed and writing desk" rooms you normally get at the shore. The bathroom had a jacuzzi and a wide assortment of soaps, and other toiletries (which is great because we forgot a lot of stuff), the kitchen had everything you needed to cook a full meal (not that we did), the bed was comfortable and there were 2 TV's mounted to the wall. But honestly, it was the little things that really made a difference. The bathroom mirror had a little sticker at the bottom that said "You look great!" There was a table at the end of the hall with assorted bottles of gin and vodka and a sign that said "help yourself to a complimentary cocktail". (Even in a dry town.... shhhh we won't tell) Breakfast was delicious and changed daily. The first day was waffles and an omelette with... A orange cream-sickle muffin. The second day, French Toast. They are also quite accommodating to people's special diets. In all... The Ocean City Mansion B&B really made out vacation memorable. From the atmosphere, to the food, to the overly accommodating friendly staff, OCM will be our one stop shop for years to come. We're even considering going back in the middle of winter... It's that kind of special place that would be quaint and welcoming in any season. And we also saw that they are pet friendly. (My girlfriend and I are animal lovers... This place is wonderful! Our room was very comfortable and the breakfast was good. The assortment of antique items and pictures were a lot of fun. Things like finding a box full of candy on the coffee table or quick games tucked away on bureaus made it feel welcoming. The room also had all the toiletries you could need. Nancy made us feel like a priority and she was most accommodating. If we can find another weekend away from the kids we will definitely book here! Ocean city food is not much to rave about (but not terrible) so do some research before you dine. read more

I want to start out by saying I am VERY picky with hotels. This was my first time at a bed and breakfast and I totally understand what the hype is about. My boyfriend and I stayed in the Tree house suite. It was adorable and very nice. They had everything you could think of. It included a jacuzzi in the room, microwave, iron, fridge, and beautiful comforter set. The owner Nancy was a god sent. She was so welcoming and accommodating. For Breakfast, she made blueberry muffins, scrambled eggs, French toast, sausage, and fruit. It was awesome. Her employees were friendly also. It was very clean. We will definitely be coming again. A very charming little B&B on the Jersey shore... The rooms are clean, quiant and gorgeous! Nancy, the innkeeper, does a fabulous job of making sure you're happy with your accomodations. Breakfast in the morning is delicious and plentiful as well. You can either eat downstairs with everyone else or she will bring your breakfast up to your room if you're in a "breakfast in bed" kind of mood. Not a far drive to fabulous Atlantic City (about 20 minutes). All in all a great bet if you want to have a quiet and relaxing stay near AC. :) read more

Dog Friendly B&B, but didn't not smell like it at all !! We stay last summer for a few days, very nice people we interacted with. But breakfast was not great on more than one occasion. We stayed in the honeymoon suite, shower was separate from the Very small bathroom. The livingroom has a nice jacuzzi tub, large screen tv, an fireplace with 2 leather massage chairs, but no place else to sit. The bedroom was separate with a small sink, the chandler had more than half the lights burn out, it's was very dusty, an there was a condom wrapper on the floor !! If we were to go back for a second chance I would not stay in the honeymoon suite, oh an definitely do some homework, some odd things and noises in that room...had no idea was listed as possibly haunted !! read more

Our first Bed and Breakfast, so we had no idea what to expect....we were pleasantly surprised at how nice everyone was, how accommodating they were with us and how wonderful the breakfasts were! As an added bonus, they offer very reasonable dog sitting services which we took full advantage of! The first floor suite was our home for a few days, it was perfect for us & our dogs, especially with the back entrance - my only wish was that the bathroom was a little larger. The only dog- friendly accommodation in OC, so it's a total bonus that it's such a great place. Nancy and her family are so welcoming and down to earth and all the guests we encountered seemed chilled out and friendly. By the end of the week, they felt like old friends. Breakfast is excellent and the rooms are very nice. It's a bit further from the boardwalk than I have stayed in the past, but we rented bikes and it was great. I really had a great experience at the Ocean City Mansion! I would like to go back for sure. It was on a quiet tree lined street, very pretty. It is a quaint house with a nice front porch to sit out and have a meal, coffee, or snacks. I really enjoyed having my coffee and breakfast out there morning. The hostess Nancy is great! She is very attentive, offering to help me with my bags and asking me if I need anything. There is a relaxed vibe and even though I believe the B&B was full, it didn't feel crowded or too busy with guests. Pets are allowed but I never heard any noise or barking. There were several choices for breakfast which you choose the night before. Coffee is available self serve in the common area in the morning. The B&B is located VERY near shopping. Just walk around the corner and a few blocks away is Asbury Ave with tons of shops, restaurants etc. The beach is about .5 miles away, but I didn't mind the walk. It was so nice to be away from all the noise of the boardwalk, but have it in walking distance. You can also drive up to the beach if you prefer. Badges are provided with the room. I stayed in the McKenna Room. It is a nice room with a queen size bed and a couch. It has a kitchen area with sink, and refrigerator and microwave. You can enter or exit the room directly to the outside or through the main house which was convenient. I definitely recommend this place! I have almost no experience with staying in B&B's and booked this last minute and was unsure of what to expect, but it worked out great! read more

What an amazing place. From the minute you walk in, you feel welcome. We stayed in the honeymoon suite and everything was perfect. From the AMAZING Brookstone massage chairs to the huge jacuzzi. The king bed is so comfortable, you sink right into it. The huge TV over the jacuzzi is also awesome. We used the fireplace the whole time and it heated the whole unit, no problem (we were there in the middle of December). OUr breakfast was also delicious, expecially the fruit. My wife ants to make a permanent reservation every year for our anniversary. Nancy the innkeeper is also fantastic. Wish I could give more than 5 stars!!!! read more

My boyfriend and I made the impromptu decision to go to the beach the day before arriving at Ocean City, NJ. We only wanted to stay one night. We have a dog so wanted a pet friendly place. Ocean City Mansion came up and I was shocked they had an open room for 1 night. Booked! We showed up and it looked so cute from the outside! We stayed in the Royalty Room. It was small but it worked for us. I loved the coffee station on the main floor! I woke up for a run with the sunrise and loved being able to get coffee at an early hour and sit on the porch with my dog for quiet time. Nancy was up early too and offered me delicious homemade muffins and a fruit bowl before breakfast time even started. Nancy also offers dog sitting for a super affordable price! She watched our dog while we went jet skiing in the morning before check out. She gave us an extension 1 hour to check out so we could jetski and get back to shower the saltwater off before our drive back to PA. The only thing that stinks is Nancy is strict on dogs barking, which my dog does bark at first when we leave him alone. I do get it, as there are others staying in the house. I'm not saying that's a bad policy! It just stinks that we weren't able to do things in town we had hoped. We've traveled with our dog and been in hotels and never had issues with leaving our dog in the room while we go out and explore. But this was also our first time staying at a B&B and just didn't know. So if you have a dog, I'd suggest planning to take it everywhere or have someone in your party to stay back with it, or pay for pet sitting daily. I thought it was pricey for what we got but we also had the pet fee included. I'd like to end on a positive note because our stay was good. The people were fantastic! I was down on the main floor a lot and interacted with various guests. All were so kind and personable. Staying here has a very warm feeling about it. Overall, I say yes! read more

Looking for a quiet getaway on the beach after the Labor Day weekend and found OC Mansion on a booking site. We called the week of our stay to confirm the booking since we didn't book directly with the B&B. Nancy promptly returned our call confirming our stay and emailed us some suggestions for packing, etc. We were assigned the Honeymoon Suite which was somewhat appropriate since we were celebrating our wedding anniversary. A quaint home with narrow staircase but that's part of the charm of a B&B I guess. The living room contained 2 huge Brookstone massage chairs and next to them was a giant whirlpool tub. The bedroom had a king size bed and a sink along with an entrance to a small outdoor deck which faced the neighbors' backyards so it wasn't very appealing to sit there. With all the huge furniture and tub there was little room to walk but those massage chairs are verrrry relaxing so walk room was definitely not needed. The shower was tiny - could barely turn around in it but it was functional enough. The bathroom again was tiny with the toilet right up against a corner sink - a bit claustiphobic but again functional. Breakfast was OK - didn't particularly suit my tastes but again, it was functional. The beach was about 5 blocks away which was fine as we didn't plan on beaching anyway. The boardwalk provided a pleasant walking avenue. In terms of rating, I liked OC Mansion and would consider staying there again. We did get to peek at other rooms so it's best to call them and let them know what you need - extra beds, whirlpool, fireplace, etc. so they can set you up in a room that best suits you. I can't compare to other B&B's in the area - and there seem to be many, Oh there is free WiFi although I had some difficulties connecting from time to time. read more

My girlfriend and I booked the Royalty Room for prom weekend last year. Don't let this phrase scare you, we came to Ocean City to get away from the craziness our classmates were doing in Wildwood! We had such a lovely time here! The room was beautifully decorated and we arrived to find a lovely card on the bedside table. Nancy, the owner, is the nicest person in customer service I've ever met. She took such good care of us. As I write this, I'm craving the breakfast that they serve you each morning! Seriously, if you are looking to come to Ocean City and need a place to stay...this is the best place around! Not only do they take care of you, but your furry friend, too! I used to come to Ocean City every summer with my grandparents, we stopped coming down after my poppop passed away....This place brought me back to my childhood and made me relive so many wonderful memories. i was looking for dog-friendly places to stay, short-term, as my husband and i only planned to be on island for one night for a 5k race. i found ocean city mansion from a google search and am very happy i booked our stay with nancy. the house is very quaint with a welcoming salon with tea and coffee. we stayed in the fireplace suite. the rooms in the suite were impeccable - our dog spent zero time sniffing the perimeter, which she normally would do if another dog had been there previously. the full bath and in-bedroom sink were accommodating with pre-supplied toiletries. in-wall and window unit air conditioners were great features (bedroom had the window unit and an in-wall unit; sitting room had an in-wall unit). the bed was very comfortable. we enjoyed the patio off the bedroom, until our dog started to bark and we didn't want to bother the neighbor next door. right at the turn of the stairs from the second floor to the third floor, a mix of water bottles, cold sodas and snacks were available on the honor system - what a great touch! the house was quiet, which made me nervous if our dog got sassy and started to bark. side note, our dog received a good report card while we were out of the room (phew!). we unfortunately did not have time to stay for breakfast, but what i saw looked very appetizing. the fellow guests that we spoke with were very sweet. if we ever need to stay in ocean city again for a short-term visit, we will absolutely stay at the ocean city mansion. a wonderful place, highly recommended! read more

Lovely place, on a charming quiet street, not too far from the beach. Breakfast was great. Staff was friendly. Problem was I stayed in the only available room for my weekend and it was the smallest room. If you were only planning to sleep in the room, everything was just fine, but the bathroom was too small. I am not a big person and I kept bumping the sink everytime I got in and out of the shower and everytime I used the facilities. The most irritating feature was the television on the ceiling. I had to actually lay flat on my back to watch the TV and that was not fun... If they find a way to bring the TV off of the ceiling, the room would be a pleasant place to be. read more
