The Fire Department Responded Faster Than Management!! After living at Atlas Apartments for years, I can confidently say that the biggest amenity this property offers is the ability to leave. The most alarming issue was the repeated elevator failures. Multiple residents have been trapped in elevators, needing to be rescued by the fire department - and this was not a one-time incident or an unforeseeable emergency. It became part of normal life in the building. No resident paying luxury-level rent should have to wonder whether they will make it to their apartment or end up waiting for firefighters to get them out of an elevator. Unfortunately, the elevator failures were only one symptom of a much larger problem. Throughout our tenancy, we dealt with ongoing maintenance failures, constant plumbing issues, alarm system problems, and mold concerns. What made these issues especially frustrating was the apparent disconnect between what residents were told and what actually happened. We repeatedly heard that repairs were being worked on, that solutions were coming, or that issues were close to being resolved. Yet many of the same problems persisted month after month, and in some cases for more than a year. Eventually, we stopped judging management by what they said and started judging them by results. The results were impossible to ignore. We found ourselves documenting maintenance issues, tracking conversations, saving emails, and keeping records simply to establish a timeline of unresolved problems. No resident should have to create a case file to live in an apartment. Every claim I have made here can be backed up with documentation, including emails, records, and other contemporaneous evidence collected throughout our tenancy. Atlas wants to be viewed as a luxury community, but luxury is more than granite countertops and marketing photos. Luxury means functioning elevators. Luxury means building systems that work. Luxury means taking mold and safety concerns seriously. Luxury means addressing problems instead of offering endless dishonest assurances that they are being addressed. What we experienced instead was a property where serious maintenance issues became normalized, where residents were expected to tolerate ongoing disruptions, and where confidence in management steadily eroded over time. The most telling review I can give is this: after moving out, we felt relief. Not sadness. Not nostalgia. Relief. That feeling says more about Atlas Apartments than any misleading photos or well-rehearsed leasing tour ever could. read more

I've lived at the Atlas apartment complex for 7 years and here is my full review. I stay because I was the first in my unit and I love my 1100 sf space. I love the location, can walk everywhere I need. I like the familiarity of the neighbors I know and living close to the salmon creek. The management staff are kind people, unfortunately nice doesn't get the job done well. As a very active community member, I receive no benefits for saving the company 14 turnovers with my 7 years of loyalty. September 2017 - March 2020 was a fun time; a divorce-like community of newly single professionals. The staff was consistent and personable, they knew everyone's names. We had 3 community large screen televisions to watch sports games as a group. There were alcohol hosted events every month. Weekend progressive dinner parties and New Years celebrations. We hung out at the bbqs, the fire pit, the pool tables. The gazebo was clean and not infiltrated by drug users. Dog poo was tracked for violaters. Staff had a lot more ability to solve issues. We were a real community. Since Covid, everything is different. The pelotons are often broken. The secure bike area is consistently broken into with each new unsuspecting tenant. The onsite storage is not safe; I repeat, not safe at all. Constant sewage and water issues in parking garage. The staircases and elevators smell like dog pee. The cable in the community rooms got canceled during Covid and they have no explanation as to why we can't get it reinstated. The fire pit has been broken for several years. Rodents have a fantastic area to rummage near trash and create burrows in the courtyards. The handicap push buttons for the doors were broken by people who kicked them with their feet and it costs $5k to replace them, so that's never going to happen. One of two stair cases in Building B has had 1 inch of standing water, for the entire 7 years. You can't get to the parking garage in summer sandals using that route. On-site management really does care, but they are bound by so much restriction and speak like a broken record. They blame everything on supply chain issues. They have zero ability to use their own brain and common sense. With each new lease renewal, new charges are snuck in, most recently garbage has gone from a $25 flat fee, to a massive re-calculation of $65+ depending on how much random furniture is abandoned by fellow tenants not disposing properly. Parking is an additional charge, but not regulated and there is no help after hours. Supposedly, there are security cameras, but they have never resolved any issues and therefore are deemed useless. A few times a night, a hired security car drives through the parking lot, but it's of no value. Years ago, they at least got out and walked all three buildings and ensured the doors were closed and locked. Budgeting is not done well. For example, new bbq were purchased after a few years, but all they needed was cleaning. Money is spent on restriping the parking lot, when it's completely not needed. All of these odd decisions are very frustrating and really need common sense applied. I flooded my unit in September 2024, it's now August, I still have warped cabinets because of course, supply chain issues. The only two improvements since the 2017 era is, they now allow moving pods to be parked in a lot spot and we can have welcome mats outside our doors. Previously, they claimed they were tripping hazards. In other words, many of the rules and excuses are subjective to whatever the current staff decides. The site needs to be more transparent with new tenants and more helpful educating how issues can be prevented. This location should feel more like a community and it is lacking cohesiveness. Other notables: Taco time drive through traffic, perfect side wall insulation, very good floor to floor insulation, as long as someone isn't a heel walker. If a neighbor gets bed bugs or floods a unit, there is no communication. If someone is moving in above you, no advance warning. Yet, your birthday is announced without notification in the lobby revolving television announcements of the month. Can not use Verizon cable, only Xfinity cable. Barking dogs. Safeway delivery truck power washing in the night and leaf blower, year round in the middle of the night. Creek floods. Useful and helpful information not always passed between employee attrition. September 2017, I left my $1500 mortgage and moved into Atlas for $2400. I transitioned to start a new chapter after going through a traumatic family event. My 1100 sq ft unit is now over $3100 + PSE for $100 + $150 in shared water/sewer/garbage/common area electricity + $125 parking + internet $65 + renters insurance. I lived in ATLAS for a year and it was the worst! They only want your money and don't really care about you/the community. They have screwed me over so many times, it's ridiculous. They charge you unnecessarily/have many hidden fees/cost. You can definitely find places cheaper than this money making place. One positive is that it is located in a safe area, but, there is always construction going on around the apt complex so it wakes you up everyday. Please reconsider living here. read more

Do not move into this building, I promise that you will regret it! After living in DT Seattle & Bellevue for years, I honestly can't believe it is more peaceful than this experience at Atlas! I'm a 33 year old that is very resilient, that likes to have a good time, that gives everyone the benefit of the doubt to follow through. They continue to do nothing! I'm a current resident and and once your lease is signed, they could care less about your quality of life in the building that is supposed to be your home. Ongoing for months without resolution; 1. I'm a very hard sleeper and the person above me reminds me of when I use to live inside of a "Cement truck full of Boulders" or only what I imagine it would sound like! If I could only post videos, you could wear ear plugs and still hear the racket! 2. Water pressure in my shower is a slow trickle, so be prepared to take long showers! 3. My stairwell, elevator foyer and parking space has been flooded for the past six months ruining numerous pairs of dress shoes. Management has asked me to reach out to my renters insurance and file a claim for my ruined items... I could go on forever, but they're a complete waste of my time. read more

We have been living here for half a year now with our two dogs and couldn't be happier. Coming from a small apartment complex in Covington with no access to walk anywhere unless you walk on a busy shoulder of a road to moving here and being able to safely walk downtown with the dogs or go over o the stores across the street to get groceries or takeout is amazing. The apartments are well built, with big windows, open floor plans and lots of natural light. The staff at the leasing office are very friendly and always happy to help - our dogs look forward to saying hi to them every afternoon! We park in the underground parking garage in a paid assigned parking spot, which is well worth the security and not having to scrape frost off windows in the windows or coming to a hot car in the summer. Although rent may be on the higher end, it is worth the short commute to work and wonderful amenities. We are definitely planning to stay at Atlas once our lease is up and possibly upgrade to a larger one bedroom. The organized events/parties are also wonderful to get to know your neighbors and unwind - they are held about 3-4 times a month at no cost to residents, and are posted in the elevators and common areas so people are aware when a fun event is coming up! read more

I have lived here for a year and half and I highly regret renewing my lease. The first year was pretty great with nice faculty, safe community, and clean space. Now it is a complete shit show and none of the faculty care to do anything. I pay $90 a month for parking because there isn't enough outside parking - they charge $25 a month for outside parking and you aren't even guaranteed a spot. Besides that being absurd alone, car break ins continue to happen in the garage! Our car got broken into in the garage, along with 3 other cars! This isn't even the first time. But not only did 4 cars inside the gated parking garage, but the person who broke in brought their power tool to saw open our glove box. When this went out in the newsletter they said "our glove box was scratched and a tool was left". They have been saying they're "looking into getting a bid on cameras" for the garage for MONTHS. To top all of that off, my new neighbors are INCREDIBLY loud. I have lived in apartment for the last 8 years and have never had such rude, disrespectful, loud people live above me. Anytime I am home I hear them stopping around so loud that my light fixtures shake. We have complained to the office for months and they have done NOTHING. They came to listen and heard what we have been talking about and NOTHING is being done. They don't give a fuck. Oh. I forgot to mention that the parking lot I pay $90 a month for - the stairway to it from my apartment is flooded. For months. NOTHING BEING DONE ABOUT ANYTHING. We asked the faculty for help, the manager for help, we even asked the regional manager for help and NOBODY HAS DONE ANYTHING. SINCE SEPTEMBER. I am a teacher and leave for work at 6:30 and get home at 6:30. I just want some peace and quiet and I dread going home every night. The Apartments are great. Location is perfect. All seems awesome until you need to communicate with the office folks. Move-out after 3 years was nothing but a hustle. Beside the fact that you will get charged for things that are not in the lease you will also have to run after your final bill. Communication between the billings office, the apartment office and the renter (me) was at Kindergarden level. Do your self a favor and talk to residents prior signing on the dotted line. Great location and employees are nice, but the paper thin walls make it a dealbreaker. Look elsewhere. Thank me in advance. If you do rent here, make sure to buy some earplugs or heavy duty noise canceling headphones & plan on using them all day. It's a shame because I love the staff here (especially front desk employees and maintenance folks, who are wonderful), however, the noise is just too much of an issue to overlook sadly. Do you want to pay $2,000 or an apartment and constantly hear your neighbors pounding on the walls above you at all hours of the day and night? If so, you'll really enjoy Atlas. I absolutely love the location, but the paper thin walls of Atlas Apartments are brutal. My neighbors above me are constantly running around their apartment at all hours of the day, which leads to constant disruption each and every day. I can't even begin to describe how loud it is 24/7. You can hear EVERY, SINGLE, FOOTSTEP. It's at the point where I have to wear earplugs all day every day unfortunately. I tried taking a nap the other day and was awoken by my neighbors jumping up and down above me :( I haven't complained to management about this because honestly it's not their fault my neighbors jump and down upstairs all day and night.. and it's not their fault the apartments were cheaply built. However, at the end of the day it still sucks. I previously lived in a building where you couldn't hear a single peep and boy do I miss those days. I wish how knew how shoddily constructed these apartments were before I moved in.. honestly, college dorms probably have thicker walls. Just absolutely brutal. read more

The staff at this facility is way better than our prior apartment. They are very friendly, courteous, and quick to respond. When we first heard about these apartments, everyone was saying it was a bad experience. But I've had nothing but good things to say about our location. We had one issue when we moved in with the inside of the cabinet but it was fixed the next day. We had to put in a work order because the dryer was not drying our clothes and they were quick to respond, and replaced this immediately. I even came home and they allowed me to watch their process which made me feel safe about having them in my apartment. This is directly in the center of the city of Issaquah with lots of access to different parks, hiking trails, the libraries, and the Gilman shopping center. The gym here is good for a quick work out and the grounds are kept clean. They use a pet program to track/match any dog feces left on the property and contact the owner of the pet, which is good because it keeps the residents here liable. They offer weekly/bi-weekly events that bring together those who want to attend. Our most recent even had wine and fondue, which was pretty awesome. The staff that coordinate these events reach out to the best local companies to help serve us a great time. I definitely recommend people check this place out. We live in a fourth floor apartment facing east and get lots of sunlight in the morning. The apartment doesn't get too warm and the window can open a lot. Five stars to the crew. Once you sign your lease over, they could care less about any help or service needed for your quality of living. We have been living here for several years and have had to deal with two different Owners and Rental Management Companies. The maintenance staff seems to feel that we are a bunch of entitled asses. We have had multiple issues with our Washing Machines. The ones originally purchased, upon the opening of the Atlas, were defective and are now outside their warranties. Let me translate that for you. If you want to wash your clothes then find a laundry. We have had the washer repaired/replaced (with a repaired washer that broke for someone else)/replaced(with a repaired washer that broke for someone else)/repaired/repaired again and now we are told that the whole problem is us. We are overloading it! Are you kidding! Maybe this sounds petty but how you are treated by people you pay to provide support for your living space is important to us. I think this is the final straw. Surely there are other Apartment Homes who really do care about their tenants and care about keeping tenants long term. read more

Great location and nice clean modern apartments

Current resident. Don't move here! Our lease is up in April and we very ready to move out. We have been excellent renters, on time payments, very few issues on our end. Had to fight with management to get us working washer (dryer was fine). Have spoken with neighbors who report same problem and have yet to have theirs replaced. The washer and dryer set are very cheap and do not work well. Finally after many complaints was given brand new different model washer and dryer and they work great... but I had to really fight for them and the final response I got was pretty much a FINE HERE TAKE THESE AND GO AWAY! Lol We were told we could move units mid-lease (looking to upgrade from 1 to 2 bedroom) without any penalty or extra fees. Current lease would end and we would give new deposit/rent on a 2 bedroom. Basically a regular move, just mid-lease and with same company. When we stated the process about 30 days after speaking with them, we were given a form outlining the almost $1500 in fees it would cost to move units. WHAT? Only explanation was it is a new policy and a deterrent to keep renters from ending leases earlier to move units. What?! Let me explain, when we first moved in in April of 2017 two bedrooms were renting for 2500 and up, not what we wanted to pay so we opted for a one bedroom for about 1800. Fast forward to December 2018, two bedrooms are renting for $2000 (off season). Seemed like a good time to snag that lower price and we could, per previous conversation with staff. Well, they must have had a number of people thinking the same thing we were cause before we could take advantage of the offer of mid-lease move, new policy BAM! Lol This place has constant turn around and from the people I have spoken with, few stay here for more than one lease term. We renewed and regret it! Oh well, they will get a few more months out of us and then we are out of here! read more

I work in issaquah, so it's nice to be close and not battle traffic. The units are spacious, bright due to all the windows, and quiet. I have no complaints. I'm currently listening to a very large rave thump through my apartment and it's 8:30 in the evening. The noise is so loud that it's literally drowning out an episode of Ray Donovan. Typically this noise goes on until 12-1 am and it's much worse on the weekends, lasting through the night and waking me up. I really like Atlas. The apartments are cute and the management is nice. They have resident events that are done really well. The maintenance and cleaning teams are excellent. Unfortunately, the noise enforcement is terrible. I have a friend who just moved out b/c of the constant noise. She complained several times and nothing was ever done. I'm not sure what they can do other than walking the halls and leaving noise violations on doors but something has got to change. I'm paying a very expensive rent to live in a college dorm. We're not planning on renewing our lease due to the noise problems. Please do something about the noise problems, you're losing good tenants who enjoy the community. read more

We lived there two years and it was absolutely horrible. During this time 3 different management companies changed, all with their own rules and policies. Gated garage but every week was a break in or a bicycle stolen - I'm not exaggerating. The management didn't do anything about it. We moved into a brand new unit and when we moved out we were told that we have to pay for a new fridge. The reason, small scratch from a fridge magnet. After going back and forth we end up paying only $200, which is still outrageous. There is a Facebook group for all the residents, ask to join before you move in, and you'll get a better idea about this place. read more

Update to my previous review, i've had packages stolen from the common area, that's where the FedEx/UPS/USPS deliveries are left. Called the office and they told me they are not able to do anything. I will be terminating my lease early because it's been nothing but an inconvenience living here, with lying about soft-checks and the constant rotation in staff at the office, it's hard to keep up with who works there anymore. I'd recommend looking elsewhere. read more

We lived here for 1.5 years in a 1 bedroom apartment. The front office staff are friendly, the facilities are very clean, and other residents are nice as well. We usually spoke with Maya at the front office and she was awesome! Whenever we had any small issue with our apartment, maintenance would come promptly (usually the same day) to fix it. Not to mention how convenient it is to be walking distance all the shops at Gilman village and Issaquah commons. It is slightly pricey but is worth it to be in a comfortable, safe and clean apartment complex that is managed professionally. Overall we loved our time here and moved out only to upgrade to living in a house. Would highly recommend living here if you are looking to rent in Issaquah! read more

I have had a couple bad customer service experiences here but this tops it. Angela Xavier seems to be somewhat nice at first but continued to belittle me and look down on me as if I didn't underwent what she was saying when really I as trying my hardest not to yell at her. When I asked for her name, she chuckled and smirked at me! This is absolutely the worst person here at atlas and I cannot believe she works here. Please if you are interested in living here, do not talk to Angela. She will just ruin your Update: the reason I even talked this woman was because my package went missing in the facility and when I went to go try and find it, the review up there sums up what happened. Tell me why I just found that they someone had taken my package and hid it! They had it this whole time!! I'm infuriated because that was a horrible day for me and it was made even worse by every thing that happened. I like the look of these apartment but they are still very unorganized and really need to get their stuff together, I don't even want to order anything to here in fear that this will happen again! If you want to live here, just be prepared to have some frustrating moments. read more

Their auto-pay system for rent will not notify you if a payment didn't go through, leading to a $100 late fee. When I called and asked for it to be waived they cited the Fair Housing Act (a Civil Rights era housing law meant to ban racial prejudice in housing) and argued that it would constitute discrimination to waive the fee for their failed system. The property is fine and really good location, but it is run by the worst group of people I have ever seen in real estate management. When I first moved in I didn't think all the bad reviews would matter because I assumed I just wouldn't have any run ins with the people who manage atlas, but I was wrong and every single time I have to partner with them for something it is extremely unpleasant. They go out of their way to make petty comments and try to make people feel stupid and overall have rude tones in conversation. They have ridiculous fines for very, VERY unimportant things but they won't fix any big problems when they're brought to the managements attention. Things have been put off like rat and pest problems, issues with the doors opening or not being locked, random alarms, car break ins inside the garage, YELLOW AND BROWN WATER, and I have been told by another tenant that they have lied several times in an attempt to deliver an eviction notice. Dozens of people have moved because they feel as though these people only work to try to evict people, and to go as far as lying about payments made and pretending that they were not contacted....is just flat out unprofessional and one of these days will lead to a class action lawsuit. They will pretend not to read emails or respond to calls about fines in order to put it off until the due date and evict. They are currently ignoring my attempts to settle on something so that they can try to wait until the due date passes. They have held onto receipts of things that happened several months ago and don't give any warning so that fines catch you off guard. I've never felt the need to go out of my way just to complain about something but this place is so terribly run and honestly they need to replace every single person who works here. Also, a lot of their maintenance crew quit all at once last year because they were treated like garbage and weren't given decent wages. read more
