When I called the salon to express my concerns.I was specifically complaining about a stylist named Donna. According to her salon bio, she recently moved from Chicago. Less than 24 hours after making that complaint, I received a text message from an unknown Chicago-area phone number calling me names. The timing was concerning enough that I felt it should be reported to the salon. I did not feel that concern was taken seriously. I was told that someone would contact me regarding my complaint, but I was left waiting without any meaningful response. At this point, I was seeking a refund because I am deeply dissatisfied with the haircut itself, upset by the way my concerns have been handled, and troubled by the harassing message I received after reporting my experience. When my calls were not being returned, I called again for a third time and at that time was told that Donna is the owner of the business and would never do such a thing. My initial complaint was regarding my haircut. I have fine hair, and throughout my appointment the stylist described what she was doing as adding "movement" to my hair. At no point did I understand that significant debulking was being done. That is not something I would have requested. The result is that my hair feels much thinner than before, and I have not been able to find a way to style it that I feel good about. Another concern is that my hair was not blow-dried at the end of the service. It wasn't until I went home, washed it myself, and blow-dried it that I was able to fully see the haircut and notice the issues I have with it. Looking at it styled properly only made me more upset with the final result. Now this situation is much larger and I am still hoping for a full refund for the service.

I have long hair and other stylists I have gone to would only give me layers at the bottom, but not Leah! She took the time to listen and understand what I wanted and even offered advice and options for different facial framing and bangs that were suited to my face and type of hair. As soon as we were done and I saw what she did, I had to ask her to send me pictures so that I could show my mom who has been sick of hearing me cry and complain after every haircut, but not this one! At the time, I was living in Stecoah Valley (Graham County) and it would take me an hour and a half to get to the salon, but because I have a long history of subpar haircuts, I felt it would be worth the time and effort. I was the first appointment of her day on a Saturday morning, and I knew that I wanted to be punctual for her, because I understand how it can impact a stylist's entire days schedule when they have tardy clients. I foolishly expected the same courtesy and respect for time to be extended to me. When I was roughly 30 minutes away from the Salon I received a phone call from reception asking if they could push my appointment out by half an hour. I let them know that I had other plans that day that I might end up being late for if I could not leave the salon at the same time. Long story short, they kept my appointment as it was and Madison walked through the door at my original appointment time. My haircut was technically sound, but the bangs were way too short, which is commonly what usually happens to me. My husband called them "toddler length" because they were the length that we used to give our daughter's bangs so that we could go longer between trimming. During the haircut I asked for a price for highlights and was taken aback by what I was quoted and realized that even though I had short hair and only average density, Madison's prices were what I would expect for hair that is more labor intensive (longer, thicker, denser). For reference, if I were to book 3 hours with Madison under the current all inclusive pricing, it would cost me less than the price range that she quoted me. I have NEVER heard of such exorbitant prices before and I was coming from a California economy. Overall, I've had better haircuts and several more worse ones, but based on the experience that I had here I wasn't going to be going back. The salon seems to have a high end vibe, but they did not deliver a high end experience at all.
