I liked the stylist so I thought I would give her another chance! I went back with a photo and wanted a little color highlights. Incredible haircut for an older guy with shoulder-length hair who has PTSD from many yeas of forced childhood crewcuts! Got a cut, highlights and beard trim and color. My stylist, Rennie, did a better job than anyone I've seen in the past (and that's 45 years worth of stylists including quite a few in NYC). Four months later, the highlights are still quite prominent, and I'd be surprised if they aren't still evident two more months from now--which will total 6 months of lasting highlights. But whether they last four or six months, highlights lasting this long is nearly unheard of. I've actually enjoyed creating different looks with my highlighted hair, and I still receive compliments. I'll be going back soon, as my PTSD has waned substantially thanks to Rennie's haircutting and highlighting skills. These skills relate to her ability to listen carefully to what her customers want. I had an appointment with Danielle at Shear Shack last Friday as I wanted my long, curly hair restyled into a more manageable length without it needing to be tied up all the time. I was advised that Danielle was the correct stylist to work with my hair. She took the time to ask several questions to get an idea of what I wanted, and even showed me some pics on her cell phone for reference. Once we were in agreement, Danielle skillfully restyled my hair into a more updated, easy to care for look. I left there with a big grin on my face, very happy with the haircut. I WILL be back in a couple of months for another haircut with Danielle and tweak the hair lengths as my hair gets used to freedom from barrettes and bands. The salon is well appointed with plenty of chairs, the atmosphere here is easy going and relaxing. Prices seem reasonable for services rendered. I found this place on Yelp and it was just what I wanted: quality no fuss cut. If you want the whole she-bang this might not be your place (unless you pay extra for it). If you want a really good and quick cut, a stylist who listens and a wonderful experience/result then this is your jam. This salon felt like a close knit family and I was 100 percent all about that. The appointment system was a breeze- even for rescheduling. They called me once an opening appeared (I asked them to) and I was in the same day. Super great communication. Easy location with lots of parking. Sam was my stylist and she was prompt, professional and personable. I feel like she really listened and had great suggestions and check ins. Super sweet and excited to talk about her love for the trade and city. Fastest haircut I've ever gotten but way better than some that took triple the time. I don't know much about hair so I basically tell the stylist what I like (no bangs, layers, etc.) and show a couple of reference photos to help give them a gist. I just moved to the area and was looking for a hair salon for a much needed hair cut and face waxing. the lady helping me was very nice and then environment was friendly and welcoming. I asked for a shoulder length cut, so maybe 3 inches cut off, and she ended up cutting my hair to around 2 inches above my shoulder. The hair cut is super cute and well done, I'm just a little upset that it is shorter then I asked for. last, I had my face waxed, and while my lip was waxed well with no issues, my brows came away being uneven. I honestly enjoyed this place, and will probably return for a haircut, possibly with a new hair dresser though. read more

So beyond happy with your my haircut! I cut my hair here two months ago and it still looks great. They know how to do short hairstyles and bangs (which is typically a feat for me). The atmosphere is comfortable, they care about the safety of their customers (all staff are wearing masks and there are transparent dividers between seats), the staff is welcoming and excellent at what they do. Once I arrived, I was immediately greeted by my stylist Dani. I only had a cut scheduled and it was towards closing time but she gave me arguably the best wash I've had in a while and a blow dry as well. I left feeling pretty and will definitely come back. I decided to visit Shear Shack due to their positive reviews. The stylist was friendly, but they did a horrid job. Once I got home and my hair finished drying, I realized that the cut was extremely uneven! My family even commented. They simply forgot large chunks of my hair for there were still many split-ends in certain longer sections, that couldn't have appeared in 30 minutes! I read the reviews and got my hair cut last week and wanted a LOB. Dani was very pleasant. When I got home I realized the left side of my hair was .25 inches longer and it was not a precision cut.
