Stopped here on Sunday and ordered a pie. I read that it was brick oven so was excited to try it. However, I was really surprised that the crust wasn't crispier than what I expected. Pizza was good. I noticed that the cheese would slide off the dough. I think that means the temperature is high, but, it's cooled too fast. Hence the dough not being crispy. I've never had a bad experience here until tonight. I assumed it would be busy being Valentine's Day but there is no excuse for the absolute horrible service...or lack of service altogether. Upon entering there was only one dirty table downstairs that was free. I asked the server if I could take. I didn't want to just sit down at a dirty table and be that person. She said no problem, she just had to clean it off. 40 minutes later my husband and I were still sitting at a dirty table. I'm patient. I understand being busy. But, the thing that made me finally get up and leave was the same server and her long hair brushing against every single order she picked up from the counter. The most memorable part of our visit was the 'mean girl' waitress during our visit. I asked for a cup of coffee & was told if she brewed a pot I would have to drink it all before I left. We were looking for something that would be a quick bite to go as we were walking down the street for the Corning Harvest Festival. We saw the Maryland crab pizza and decided to give that a try because it's more of a unique find. Honestly, when it first came out of the oven and walking out with it, there was a waft of the seafood-y smell that threw me off initially. But opening it and taking a bite changed my mind. It's a thin crust pizza but there was so much flavour in the ingredients and mixed together. It wasn't too heavy or greasy at all, which i 100% appreciate. Got: Large vegetable and large chipotle steak pizza Price: $22 for any large preset (it's really large and load with toppings) Value: Good value for large pizzas! The crust is thin and crispy. Good texture and delightful to bite into. Toppings are LOADED ON. So much so that the crust buckles under the weight at times. I personally didn't mind this as I just used a knife and fork. The veggie pizza has a nice cheese blend which isn't over salty. The cheese didn't stretch as much as expected which could be due to lower amounts of mozzarella in the blend. Cheese is fresh and not overly salty. For the chipotle steak pie, it kinda reminded me of a Philly cheesesteak. Loaded with green peppers, sweet caramelized onions, and chunks (I repeat CHUNKS, not slices of steak), this was definitely a treat for me as I usually don't eat much meat or cheese. Cheddar was mellow and now sharp. ALOT of onions which I liked personally. Only complaint is slightly difficult to pick up and a little overly wet/oily. Other than that, great pizza. Tip: Area of the pizza increases with a power of 2 with increasing radius! In English, it's almost always much more worth to get the larger pizza size than 2 medium or smaller pies from a value (area of pizza/$) standpoint read more

One of the best pizzas we've ever had! I give this an outstanding rating! The Atlas pizza with the wheat crust was an excellent choice and the service was great! The only negative I would have is there selection of red wine. Only 3 choices and no Italian wine like a Chianti. Otherwise I highly recommend this place! read more

I'm visiting from out of state, so I really wanted to love my pizza because pizza in NY, right?? But I didn't. I got the prosciutto basil pizza, and it sounded amazing - red sauce, mozzarella, prosciutto, basil, green peppers, asiago, and garlic. I loooove garlic (my grandmother was Italian), but my pizza was so garlicy it actually burned my mouth and made my stomach hurt, and now I know I'm going to taste garlic for several days. You got to warn people if it's going to be that garlicy . If it were roasted garlic, that would be awesome, it makes it more sweet and mild, but with that much fresh garlic, it was just too much. Great value, though. A medium pizza would feed four people, or three if you're very hungry. We got it for two and could only eat half. This spot easily has the best pizza in Corning. And in my book, the best in the entire State of New York. My wife is from Buffalo and I am from New York City, so we have sampled pie throughout the state. Atlas is even on par with Sally's charred thin-crust pie in New Haven. I picked up a couple of slices for dinner- 1 piece of The Atlas and 1 piece of of Roasted Garlic. My slices were warmed in an oven and packed up in a box for me to take back to my hotel room. Both were very good and the crust was fabulous. I'll be in town for a few more days and my class at the studio plans to have a party at the end of our class. Atlas has always been one of my favorite pizza joints in this town. I usually get the vegetable pizza which comes with mushrooms, caramelized onions, artichokes, broccoli, and tomatoes. The vegetable toppings are always abundant and delicious. Last time, I ordered slices of plain cheese and pepperoni. I will most likely stick with the more flavorful vegetable pizza next time, just because the pepperoni slices were extremely greasy and the plain cheese slices were a bit bland. Nonetheless, the crust was very crispy. I love the fact that they use an oven brick to bake their pizzas. It really makes a difference and sets them apart from the other pizza locations in town. Atlas's pizza is the closest you will get to NY style pizza in Corning. Aside from pizza, these guys also have a wide selection of other food items. Although I have never tried them myself, I have heard that the calzones here are phenomenal. I would also like to add that the cheesecake here is amazing! If you ever need a sugar fix, I would highly recommend getting a slice of cheesecake (available flavors vary from day to day). Service has always been great--quick and friendly.
