Good pizza downtown Corning NY . Services is fast and they have an upstairs bar! Good for large and small groups

I'm visiting New York State, and I won't be heading to New York City, so I stopped in for a slice of New York pizza. Came on Monday and they were open while many shops in the area were closed which was great. I ordered a slice of cheese. Very yummy. A quick stop in Corning meant we were in need for a quick bite to eat. Because we had yet to have any New York style pizza on this trip, I recommended we hit one up for our last meal while in New York. Sure, there are a lot of spots that come up when you do a Google search but Rico's Pizza looked the most promising out of the area we were in. We walked in around 3 pm on a Friday. There was only a table of two seated near the window but the place was otherwise empty. Later, two other single parties came in during our stay. As soon as we walked up to the register, we were greeted and offered for them to take our order. Being our first time, we requested some time with their menu. We had a couple questions along the way, and the gentleman was very helpful. We ended up having our eyes set on their "2 specialty slices and a large drink" combos for just over $10. Ordering two of these ended up being a really good amount of food for the four of us. We tried the following slices (ordered from my most to least favorite): - PULLED PORK BBQ: I was honestly surprised to learn that this ended up being my favorite. There's a good amount of pulled pork present but not enough to make you feel drowned in meat and heavy. I liked that the BBQ flavor was smoky and present, yet somehow, the cheese flavor was so strong. - BACON CHEESEBURGER PIZZA: They really did not skimp on the cheese for this one as it was oozing all over the slice! This was a good rendition of a cheeseburger as a slice. - THE PAGLIACCI: This was essentially a supreme pizza. More of a classic but tasty and had a good amount of toppings on it. - STUFFED PIZZA: We were misled by the name and thought it might be a stuff crust pizza since they already had calzones as a different part of their menu, but this was basically a calzone. The crust/dough was very well made and had a nice chew to it, but there was way too much dough to filling ratio. The filling was also just sauce and cheese, no toppings. My first impression was the crunch from the under carriage! The slice held together really well without being floppy due to the nice crisp and toast to the crust. I also loved that everything came out fresh and hot! These were not pre-made slices, but instead, made to order. On another note, the pizza wasn't too salty and I did not feel excessively thirsty after. Since this place isn't a "sit and be served" type joint, tips aren't really needed but with the service we received, we felt they really did deserve one! When our slices were ready, the staff came to bring out our slices which we did not expect and when we asked for them to be cut, they came to our table with a cutter versus asking us to bring back the slicing. They also have single stall washrooms for both men and women. They're small but recently clean (and bonus, for having paper towels). As for parking, there was an ample amount of free parking spaces on the street nearby. read more

I made a visit to the Corning Museum of Glass. After going to the museum, my family and I went to Rico's for some NY style pizza. Let me say everyone besides me gave this place 5 stars. The pizza was good, nice thin crispy crust, grease dripping from it. I ate the ends like you do with NY style pizza. But for me to give a place 5 stars, the place has to be special. To me there wasn't anything special about the pizza. It was what I expected good NY pizza to be like. 4 stars. read more

Love their chicken wings bc of the sauce however they don't cut the end pieces off the wing to make it a normal flat which I don't love but nevertheless edible. The employees at corning ricos always pass the vibe check, usually good service, and I even went in one time just to ask what wing sauce they use and if I could have some and they actually let me and were really nice about it even tho I was nervous. I recommend the mild chicken wings and chicken wing sub thing they have. Their pizza is not bad either, idk about it being my favorite pizza but it is definitely top 3. read more

We did a takeout order of two gluten free pizzas and wings. Not sure if he was the owner but he checked our pizzas and had them cook a bit longer because the gf crusts don't brown the same. I appreciated their extra check! We had medium and garlic Parmesan wings - love that they weren't greasy. I got the white garden pizza - tons of garlic that I love. Heck yeah. Former Corning residents ask me to bring a Rico's when I go to visit! If you're looking for authentic thin New York style pizza, crispy but nicely topped, this will fit the bill. Nice that the owner is very engaged too. He makes our day! read more

My partner and I ordered delivery and it was 20 minutes late. The food didn't look very appealing so we didn't have high expectations. The crust was very doughy and the garlic bread was drenched in butter to the point it was soggy but that wasn't the worst of it. My partner was eating her cannoli only to discover a small piece of plastic cooked inside of it and was horrified. The food is not worth the price at all and I'm assuming they don't prep their food with caution. read more

Miss Pizza Hut. The Pagliaci was skimpy with toppings and most were in the middle. A pizza that was made with little pride or interest.

Garlic pizza with mushrooms, sausage n ricotta. Very good, the ricotta is extra fancy with added herbs and the sausage had a little spicy to it. I'm totally interested in if their red sauce is as good. Delivery to the staybridge suites was quick n efficient right to your room door. read more

My family of four wanted a quick bite after a long drive to Corning. We used Yelp and it was a toss up between this the other top rated piZZA JOINT. The Person behind the counter was awesome, happy, and very helpful. The sitting area was very cool and covered with art in the form of paintings and light fixtures. The one problem is there is only one spot for groups larger than 2 to sit down unless you move the tables and chairs for a group of 4 max. The calzones and cheese sticks were good. T One very nice touch were the kids magazines and Wall Street journals to read while you wait. One negative the menu could be seen or read with out being right at the counter. This didn't allow you to plan ahead before it was your turn to order. Priced right and friendly. read more

Very skimpy Italian sub. The meats were few and cut so thinly you could read a newspaper through them. Only a few diced tomatoes. No slices of tomato. I asked for extra onions which had a Fifty cent upcharge and there were only maybe a few additional slivers added. Subway and Wegman's offer a much better product and value. What an incredible surprise! We visited Corning during a weeklong road trip through western New York and Pennsylvania. As somewhat pizza snobs we try not to get our hopes up too much when traveling outside our Austin hometown. We got a medium for the two of us and it was huge! Perfectly cooked with a thin crispy crust and tons of toppings and flavor. Not busy at all on a Friday night. Service was spot on. Pizza was very good. Pepperoni was thick. We were there on Sunday afternoon (April 24). The young lady that took our order also made the pizza. She did a good job she helped her co worker who seemed to be new. The store was clean and customer service was good. When we are Corning next time, we will come back to this spot. read more

After reading a few reviews and a note that was left at the Air B&B we decided to give it a try. It was not good. We ordered two small pizzas and one came out cold. They did not have good flavor especially for the cost. It seemed like the person taking our a order was annoyed with the fact that we walked in at 5:45pm even though their hours said until 9pm. A few people suggested this place has the best pizza on the Market Street strip so I checked it out and it did not live up to expectations. Not bad, but I hope it isn't the best there is on this block. We went in late night before going to the bar and it was completely dead in there, a little surprising since it was a Friday night. I've seen a few of the other pizza places full of people so it always makes me a little nervous when restaurants are completely empty. I ordered one slice of pizza and a soda for $4. It seems a bit expensive, maybe I'm just picky. We also ordered garlic knots, which didn't seem all the way cooked through. I expected them to be more crispy, less mushy and it's not what I got; it didn't taste bad, they were pretty good but too greasy for me. My +1 ordered the eggparm sandwich and for $6, I nearly laughed when I saw the size of it. It was small, didn't even take up the whole plate, it looked like half of his sandwich was missing. The beer selection is limited but at least they have a selection. $4.50 for a bottle, meh. I like the décor, the tables are cool and if you have a big party or you're taking a sports team there, the huge table in the middle will accommodate you. The painting on the wall is also very cool. A nice vibe to the whole place but a bit lacking on the food. I will stop by again someday, but until then I will have to try the other places before I loop back around. read more

Corning is a great town for pizza, especially Market Street, but Rico's is always my favorite and number one choice. The staff is friendly, and the pizza is delicious. My go-to is a pie with pepperoni, mushrooms, ricotta, and eggplant. Phenomenal and always hot and fresh. read more

Great pizza! Atmosphere is fantastic and the service was helpful. Plenty of street parking, and the restaurant was clean. One star deducted because the manager (Rico?) was tearing up the waitress making her cry in front of customers. Guy clearly has a temper issue. read more

Pizza is decent but avoid salads and sandwiches. A whole eggplant parm for $13... and barely any eggplant and cheese. Very disappointed.

Do not recommend. Garden salad was passable, but our pizza was soggy to the point where we couldn't even pick it up. Threw the rest out and left. read more

I'm not a fan and honestly don't get what people see in this place. I've been twice now and both times found their pizza unremarkable. Will definitely not go back and wouldn't recommend either. This is the pizzeria I grew up in. Before the owner started doing coke and letting any teenager that would take minimum wage or looked good in spaghetti straps, this was a damn fine establishment with some of the best New York style pizza I ever had. The buffalo wing subs were also amazing when I still ate meat. Nowadays the service is mediocre, and worse, the pizza is touch and go. Tasty Pizza and ready really fast for pick up. Was working late this week and we had a few pies brought in. We enjoyed the Veggie (minus mushrooms, plus jalapeños) and a pie with Sausage and pepperoni. The pizza we well cooked, great thickness and had great topping coverage. Hadn't had Jalapeños on a pizza before, but was pleasantly surprised. Definitely recommend the above combinations. read more

I was very happy with Rico's, not only was it one of the only places we found while on vacation that had a clue on how to handle allergy issues, but the cannoli they made my wife was one of the best she's ever had. When we return to the area we are coming back. read more

I loved the wings I got here! It was a bit slow getting my order but it was a Saturday and they were very busy.

Rico's is one better Pizza places in Corning it is less greasy than Aniello's. I love the chicken wing and the Pagliacci pizzas, also the garlic knots are good. One thing I love is they dont try to be cheap on the toppings plus everything taste fresh which i cant say about alot of places. The chicken wings are ok nothing special but decent. All in all its above average food if you like pizza its one my favorites. read more

Visiting on business, some of my local colleagues are regulars at Rico's at lunch. They have a good reputation for quality food, which I totally agree with. Rico knows how to make pizza! The stromboli and calzones were fresh too. The interior is well thought out and the staff is friendly! @ Alex M. I don't know the owner or you, but I think your defamatory comments are unnecessary and down right disrespectful. Not only are your comments irrelevant, it shows everyone your low level of maturity. Please take your personal beefs somewhere else. This is someone's business, their job, their livelihood. It deserves a bit more respect than what you have shown.
