Atlas installed a new a/c unit in my home recently. They did an excellent job and repaired the ductwork to ensure that the airflow was efficient. Brandon came out first and explained in detail what was wrong with my very old a/c unit. He explained all options with me and the costs for repair and replacement. He was very courteous, knowledgeable, and easy to understand. It was less expensive to replace the unit. He also explained the 6 months no finance charge plan with me. That worked out perfectly as well. Then came Nick, Owen, Chris, Jeremy, Jacob, and Kyle to complete the work. The office staff, Vanessa. Michelle, and Ashley were also very helpful and extremely courteous. The timing was perfect and they ALL worked together and made sure that my air conditioning unit and ductwork was installed with perfection. The cost was also unbelievably low. After installation, the airflow was a little loud when the fan blowed. No problem. They came right back out with a week and installed a new vent so the airflow would be more quiet. It was perfect. He was on time, explained in detail what the service entailed and once service was complete, he made recommendations to protect my system. So we called this company because our ac unit stopped working. A technician came out pretty quickly, assessed the situation and told us there was only one issue he could see. We paid about $200-300 for him to replace the part. The AC unit worked for like a day, then stopped again. We called and they sent someone out immediately to fix the issue. He fixed it at no extra cost and everything was great. Well, here we are about 2-3 weeks later and our unit stopped working again. I'm just frustrated that I now have to call another company and pay another service fee to find out what is actually wrong with my unit. Not the worst company I've ever worked with. The techs appear friendly and knowledgeable. The problem is that if they're unsure about the issue, they just start telling you that parts are bad and need to be replaced. They told me my panel was bad and had to be replaced. I didn't know any better and paid $800 for that just to find out it didn't fix the problem, which ended up just being a faulty wire. The next summer, AC went out again, and they told me my entire system was shot and I needed a new condenser. $8000 later and still had problems. So then they said my panel was bad again. Yikes. They tried that one on me before. Anyways, I'll try my luck with another company going forward. read more

I must echo my fellow reviewers! This company is top notch and I would recommend them too. Scheduling my appointment was like a mini troubleshooting session, they gave me more suggestions and tips than some companies give with an actual appointment. I was so pleased with their customer service on the phone, it put me at ease and made me feel like they cared about me and my family. For the actual appointment, the two repairman were prompt and friendly...they score extra points with me for putting on booties before walking around my house! They took the time to show me which part was broken and upon replacing it, had the air up and running in under a half an hour. It was like a dream! I love being treated so well, I love that they spoke to me and not down to me and gave me some recommendations about a yearly maintenance service they provide. Our air conditioner is living on borrowed time, it's original to the home. As the weather got warmer our upstairs cooling unit wasn't keeping up like it used to. The house and unit are only about 5.5 years old. I looked up reviews and called Atlas. I am glad I did. The service was timely. The technician answered all my questions (a LOT of them) and even checked out the settings on my thermostat. We needed a replacement part, the technician showed me how the unit worked with the old part, and then again after replacing the part. It sounded like a completely different machine. After a few diagnostic tests we discovered a low volume of coolant and had that replaced also. The service was a little expensive after the parts, but It was much less than I had expected. OK I do want to give an update which slightly improves my rating. The owner did change his reply message to me on Google Reviews to attempt to correct the situation or at least remove some of the inaccurate information which I discussed in this post. This reply is significantly more professional than the original one and I appreciate the professionalism. He contacted me on Facebook. During this Facebook chat, we were finally able to discuss like reasonable adults in relative detail the situation going back two years ago, which he then removed the false review he left for my therapy business which he was never a client of. I feel like he understands more than he did a few days ago. This was much more like the discussion we had two years ago (assuming this is the same guy) which was appreciated. I was having issues with (what I thought was) my air conditioner blowing hot air, so I gave Atlas a call given their high Yelp reviews and recommendations. I got extremely lucky that they had an opening on the same day (later I found out that their crazy-busy season was on the down slope), so I was all set for someone to arrive at 4pm. At around 3:45pm my technician called to let me know that his current job was running a little long and that he would get to me around 4:15 or so. I really appreciated the update and never felt my time was being wasted. Joe arrived, introduced himself, and then got started on diagnosing the problem. Unfortunately for me, the problem was not the A/C but actually the furnace coils were on at full blast and couldn't be turned off via thermostat. Joe worked until he could get the immediate issue (175°+ air blowing into my office - office temperature hit over 140°) mitigated. Thank goodness! I will need a long-term fix (replace the furnace sequencer) completed later on, but we agreed that could be done once temperatures start dropping and it isn't sweltering in my attic. Despite the insanely uncomfortable working conditions (extreme heat in both my office and the attic), he never gave up on finding/fixing the issue. I, too, now highly recommend Atlas Heating and Air Conditioning. read more

Phenomenal experience, a previous company told me my air handler was dead after they installed new relays. Wanted $935 for a "rescue" unit or $1060 for a new unit while recommending I just replace the whole system for $6530. Previous company also blamed me for installing Nest thermostats as the cause of all of my problems. I called ATLAS and let them know what was going on. They were professional, courteous and were able to squeeze me in within 2 hours on a busy day because I have an infant and had house with no heat in the middle of a freeze snap in winter. Patrick and Cory came by and within minutes found multiple wiring issues with the relays and low voltage wiring going to my unit that was causing the problem. $180 and a handshake later, both of my heat pump systems were back up and running with both Nest thermostats installed. Saved me $13,000 from buying new units. Can't recommend Patrick and ATLAS enough at this point. My units for the record are 12 years old and near EOL, but I will be choosing ATLAS for the install when these units do finally go to HVAC heaven. read more

So, our air conditioner broke down on Saturday night. We called Atlas Heating & Air Inc. on Sunday at 3:45pm. The technician-on-call, Danielle Ortiz, called back in 2 minutes asking us details about it and said it's most likely leaking freon. She spoke to her manager and then proceeded to tell us that she would come over and add the freon within the next half hour since she did not want us to suffer in the heat. And all this for FREE!!!!! My wife called me yesterday frantic that our a/c had quit working. I called Atlas and someone was at my house in two hours. That's fast service. The tech was very friendly and knowledgeable. Luckily it was only a defective thermostat that was replaced under warranty. The tech then took the time to do a complete inspection of our system to ensure we wouldn't have any other problems. The technician, James, was awesome at what he does. He did not only arrived earlier than the appointed time, but also made sure to let me know and waited until I got to the property location. Expeditiously worked on the unit, fixed the problem that two other companies missed, and he made sure that I would not have any problem anytime soon. I hired Atlas because my home warranty company was not fixing my heating problem. I called them on a Saturday evening and they came out on a Sunday morning. We don't normally give businesses five stars, as you may know. To put it simply "no ones perfect". However, occasionally you have a business that just rises above the norm in either service or cost or both and this is one of those rare occasions. We received a couple of Nest Thermostats for Christmas and we were in the process of installing them over the weekend when we ran into a problem with power (specifically the RH wire was not registering power). The Nest technicians were not able to solve the problem (because they were confident by Sunday evening that it was our HVAC and not the thermostat) and referred me to several local heating vendors familiar with their products (Just so you know, power to the thermostat comes from the HVAC and not the area in which it's mounted, like say a light switch would correspond to the area in which you might find it in your circuit breaker box. The thermostat, however, does not). Well, making a short story long, Atlas was the first company to respond and within 15 minutes no less. The first technician to call was Josh and after explaining the difference in pricing for non-business hours versus normal business hours scheduled an appointment for the following Monday at 1:00 pm. After arriving at Church around 5:52 that evening we received a call from Bailey informing us that the 3 AMP was most likely the problem and we proceeded to the local auto parts store to acquire some. It was great that they called as the temperatures outside were dipping back into the 30's by this time. However, after we discovered the 3 AMP we purchased was the smaller one and we needed the larger one the stores were closed (keep in mind through this whole process Mr. Bailey was on the phone whenever needed). So, he offered to leave some for us. Well, to sum this story up we had our heat back on by 9:13, Sunday evening. If you are in need of some HVAC technical support and you yourself are handy with tools give ATLAS a call first they may be able to fix it over the phone(every situation is different, might not be able to over the phone either), but if not these guys will treat you right! I was very impressed with the service I received. I called Atlas due to an emergency outage I had with my air conditioning unit at my rental property. They were there when they said they would be, actually they called to see if they could come earlier which was great because my tenant did not have air conditioning. I thought the price was good for the work they did. Also their invoice is very detailed for work completed and what they suggest for the future of the unit. I also hired them to do some additional repairs to my unit. They kept in good contact and were very accommodating considering I live out of state. These guys were amazing. My HVAC went out on a hot July Thursday night. I called Friday morning to see if anyone could come by. Joe came by later on Friday afternoon and checked my system out. He was honest with his assessment and very courteous and professional. He was able to get a replacement unit ordered right before the warehouse closed. He said everything would be changed out, installed, and inspected by noon the next day. Saturday morning Brandon arrived and set to work taking out the old unit and replacing it with the new unit. He went under the house and inspected all of the ductwork to make sure it looked good. When he finally got it all done, he wasn't happy with the flashing between the house and the new unit. He drew up some measurements and had the shop at Atlas custom design the new flashing to fit. It looks great now. I would highly recommend Atlas Heating and Air Conditioning to anyone. Atlas Mechanical came through in a time of need! I noticed a problem with the duct work under my house just as I was preparing to head to the airport for an overseas assignment. I had no idea how much it might cost, which was important because my family and I were a little strained financially. I also didn't know if the problem would affect the air my family would be breathing while I was away, so I decided to error on the side of caution, lest my daughters develop some horrible respiratory illness. I called Mr. Patrick Cutlip (I was given his business card by a plumber from whom I had received quality service and who I asked if he could recommend a good electrician. He gave me the electrician's card, and Mr. Cutlip's which I didn't even ask for, but it turned out to be a blessing in disguise.) of Atlas Mechanical and he came by to fix the issue the same day. Evidently it was a simple enough fix that he didn't even charge us, which was a pretty classy move in my estimation. There are those who would have taken advantage of my ignorance for their own gain. Thus, Atlas Mechanical has earned my business for as long as I'm in the CSRA. I intend to move eventually, and when I do I plan on going through with an HVAC overhaul - you can be sure I'll call Atlas to get the job done! read more
